The Tongariro Alpine Crossing hike is a fantastic way to see Tongariro National Park, but without you’re own vehicle, it’s pretty tricky to actually reach the crossing from Taupo. Hop aboard this return shuttle and concentrate on taking in the park’s volcanic vistas and vivid green crater lakes, rather than worrying about the travel.

Great advice. We also cancel if the weather is not safe enough to go. But you never know what happens once you are up there. Best to prepare for four seasons in one day.

The walk was simply amazing :) There are various sceneries to see and the weather was more or less in our favor. Not as challenging as I feared, I think everyone from our bus finished.

We got a email that shuttle was on hold in afternoon day before but didn’t receive a follow up email from shuttle operator so not sure if it went. Many were cancelled do do weather . I’ve had no follow up re refund and have sent a message and awaiting response. I’ve had an issue like this with Viator before and only got a partial refund

Great service provided. The driver was on time, 5.15am sharp, very friendly and professional. He gave clear instructions and drove us safely. I found the price so expensive for a 1h drive to the Crossing Tongariro, return ticket, I paid $125 Australian dollars. I paid because it was the only option I had, since my hostel didn't want to help me to book through them. Anyway, the service was great, just totally overpriced in my case.

Great experience! The shuttle was on time, just a few minutes late. The driver was friendly. The pick up was close to our place of stay, just 5-7 minutes walk. So we were able to leave our car at our place.
