Please find your way to Pico Bistro. You can park in the parking lot adjacent if necessary. Next to Pico and in front of the parking, you will see the lifeguard tower. We are the surf school to the left of the lifeguard tower (if you are facing the water).

It was a great experience. It was one of our plans for our family vacation. 3 of us, 3 different ages and 3 different levels. Still they made it totally smooth, our son was surfing and my husband and I got to stand on the board. Lots of fun and personal push! We will look for them again when we go back to CR. Thank you guys

The instructor wasn’t a Costa Rican like I thought when booking this service. He was a decent surfer but not a good instructor. Firstl, he didn’t even have a rash guard when I got there and had to borrow one that was smelly and def not washed from a friend. Second he made me really uncomfortable after my first couple of waves that I stood up and started hitting on me calling me baby. After that my I felt it in my body that I was uncomfortable and I wiped out really hard. I paid for two hours but after all that I stayed for one. I do not recommend this company if you are a woman traveling by yourself.

Excellent and fun first surfing experience for 5 kids (ages 8-14) and 2 adults. Gave great directions to meet the instructors. The set up was a little underwhelming when we first arrived, but the instructors were patient, kind, encouraging and gave great instruction. All 7 of us were able to get up on the boards and surf. Overall a fun and memorable day for all of us!

Edwar was a fantastic instructor! Super nice, great explanations in English or Spanish and very helpful with my first time surfing. Very laid back and I was able to stand and catch several waves. Advice for first time & sensitive skin - wear longer bottoms to protect your legs from chafing on the board if you can, so you can get the most out of the class. Thank you!!

Johnny, Snyder, Danny were INCREDIBLE. They taught 12 year old daughter brand new moves on the board, and 8 year old daughter had a very positive first actual surfing experience (after not having a great experience in Hawaii.) Book with this company- you will not regret it.

Kenny did a wonderful job with our two boys- 15 and 9. They both had a few good waves and were wiped by the end of the lesson. But he was patient and very attentive.

We had a wonderful morning with Sea Native. Josh and his crew are super patient, friendly and fun. Our 7 year old almost stood up every time and I had a couple good rides as well. Fresh orange juice provided at the end was a highlight too. Highly recommended!

We had a first surf lesson with Josh and his buddy. So much fun, he thought us the basic and we managed to stay on top of the board several times! We enjoyed it very much and closed the lesson with a delicious piñacolada! Pura Vida!

Tamarindo was a perfect place to learn to surf. Miguel was the best teacher! He prepared us prior to going out and was awesome with giving cues on what we needed to do. All of our group were able to surf until we were worn out. He was so enthusiastic and a pleasure to meet.

This was great, it was my first time surfing. Joshua did the instruction on land, and Jeffrey was my instructor in the water. He was super friendly, had lots of great advice, and had me up on a board in no time. Highly recommended.

We had an incredible time with Joshua and his instructors. We had private lessons for our group of for and they had us riding waves right away. They are a great group of Ticos and we were glad to support the locals where there are so many other foreign owned businesses on the beach.

A friend of mine suggested booking a surf lesson in Tamarindo and I’m so glad I did. I had initially booked a time at 6am thinking the conditions would be better then. I received a message later that day from the instructor suggesting we come later when the waves would be better. This kind of communication goes a long way with me and we were able to go later when the tide was higher.
We had no problem meeting our instructor at the rendezvous point and we were pleased that it was just us with two instructors. We spent a little time practicing getting up on the beach on a board and then got right into the water.
All three of us were able to get up and ride some waves. It was one of the high lights of our trip and I would highly recommended this

My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience surfing!! Our instructors were super helpful, patient and friendly!! It was our first time surfing and it couldn’t have gone any better:) We also got offered coconut water after but they ran out so instead we got free pina colada's at the end!!

Our surf instructors were great!!! We were a group of 8, four kids ages 7-12 and 4 adults, all beginners. They gave us one main instructor to go over the basics, then paired the two older and the two younger kids each with their own person. We all got up on the board- everything was really fun/ safe. Lots of memories made and this was the best deal on the beach. Most folks are charging anywhere from $55-100. I had such a great time I decided to keep booking a lesson a day with Viator for whomever in the family wanted to continue.

Migal (Michael) was great. He instructed well and made sure the kids felt safe. My kids aged 11 and 13 enjoyed themselves and stood up in try number 3. The coconut water at the end was a plus! Would highly recommend. Great value.

They had 1 instructor for every 2 kids and four adults. With our big group it was much appreciated! Miguel stakes claim on a good location and kept all of us catching waves. Amazingly they had boards for extra tall men (6'8"), but it was best for those men to bring their own shirt or rash guards.

We had a great time. Jeremy and Will were awesome. Jeremy gave us instruction and pointers on land that were easy to grasp and remember. In the water they were patient and encouraging. We all got up! Now we have the basics to practice on our own.

I took a surf lesson with my daughter and it was a lot of fun. The guide showed up on time in the meeting point. He taught us the basics on the beach and a few minutes later we went in the water to practice. It only took 2 tries to be able to stand on the board and it was very satisfying. At the end of the lesson, we got cool refreshing coconut water.
The value for money through Viator was good. I highly recommend for whoever is looking for a super fun activity.

Such a fun experience! We were out on the water for a solid 2 hours. I went from knowing nothing about the techniques of surfing to making it all the way to the shore still standing most of the runs! The instructors were very knowledgeable and friendly. This was a solo 1:1 experience.
