We thoroughly enjoyed this tour of Suzhou. Our tour guide, Michelle, was very knowledgeable, patient, and customized the tour stops according to our interests and requests. Our tour date was on a busy holiday. Traffic was heavy and sites were crowded, but Michelle and our driver expertly managed the day. We really appreciated the hotel pick-up and dropoff. I would highly recommend this tour!

Michelle was a fantastic guide. She is very knowledgeable and has a lot of energy and passion for the gardens in Suzhou and the city's history. She has a real eye for photo composition and took us to a lunch restaurant with stunning views of the canals. She also helped us see some old town sights when we still had additional time before our return train to Shanghai.

Michelle was an incredible tour guide. From start to finish we loved the explanation, the incredible attention and enthusiasm that Michelle showed. The only detail was that we couldn’t go visit the Suzhou Museum which was included in the itinerary (the tour company mentions it’s flexible but they were not specific mentioning that you gotta ask them to actually include it on the itinerary) cuz you have to book the tickets 1 week in advance. Other than that it truly deserves a 5 stars review

Judy was very knowledgeable and she spoke English very well. She made everything super easy for us and we enjoyed Suzhou a lot. We went to the Humble Administrator’s Garden and then to a popular shopping street to a teahouse.

We booked the tour without even realizing this is just a city tour. It’s our fault not to read the description but they should have said so on the title of the tour as well. We were 5 people and paid 443$ for a city tour which we could have done ourselves. The tour is incredibly overpriced and totally not worth it. It was such a ripoff. The included lunch was very disappointing and didnt even taste good. DO NOT book this tour.

We are deeply sorry to learn that our tour did not meet your expectations. As a reliable tour operator, we take every review seriously and we would like to share our thoughts with you.
Firstly, you said the tour would include Zhouzhuang and other areas, we are sorry you mistaken the tour by its title when you booked on viator, for every tour marketed on viator, clients not only read the tour title but they are also provided with a full description in the page of “ What to Expect” with suggested itinerary, we have clearly listed the sites/ attractions which only include the must-see city highlights), to avoid any future confusion ,we have now optimized the product title and clearly stated it’s a “ City Tour”.
Secondly, before the tour, we got in touch with you and asked your preference, you said you would discuss with the guide directly, we were totally fine with that as it’s private flexible tour, we allow our clients to pick up the sites they want. However , around 10.30p.m the night before the tour day, you called us and requested to go to Zhouzhuang water town and Xishan Mountain area, we explained that Zhouzhuang is outskirts which is in a totally different city (Kunshan city) and Xi Shan is about 60 Km away from Suzhou city center, we did agree that we could take you there but explained to you there would be extra costs applied for the driver due to far travel to the outskirts of the two places you wished to go, then you were upset, asking us to cancel the tour, however , viator has its 24-hour free cancellation policy and you could NOT cancel due to the short notice( Only 10 hours before the tour starts). Right after a moment, your Chinese friend called us back and we explained to him the tour was for a Suzhou city tour and it covers the major sites for Suzhou city only, and he totally agreed the itinerary we recommended, after the tour day, you told us you were happy with the tour and also the guide was friendly and helpful. However, while you shared your experienced here was absolutely opposite what you told us which totally confused and surprised us. (When you shared your review, please be more objective, we are happy to take any advice which help us improve and become better, but pls do not let your own personal prejudice misleading other visitors”.)
Viator it’s a comprehensive marketplace with many options, we believed that we offered very competitive price for our city tour, if you booked Zhouzhuang option you definitely need pay more based on the market prices. If you are very price sensitive, the exclusive private tour definitely not the right choice for you, you may consider travel on your own especially you speak Chinese or join the group tour.
We are deeply sorry that our lunch did not satisfied you, we treated our every guest the best meal we could offer and always take them to the local well selected restaurant, your lunch was at a top rated one with 4.5(Out of 5) points by local foodies, which we have been taking many guests in the past few years and they are very happy with our choice. During the order, the guide did ask your preference and changed few dishes based on your dietary requests. Due to the quality of the restaurant and its name we choose, the food was not as cheap as you thought (You thought we only paid $ 50.00 for your group of 5, but indeed we paid more than double). We have now optimized the tour option with” lunch included” and not included so that future clients could have more flexibility to choose their own lunch during the tour based on their preferences and budgets.
As a reliable and excellent tour operator, we appreciate every advice to help us improve and we are always working our best to ensure our every single guest the best travel experience with us.

The tour was truly flexible, with us requesting to visit Humble Administrator's Garden, Tiger Hill (see from afar) and Hanshan Temple. Lulu was an amazing guide who could make the stories of these places accessible to us, in both English and Chinese (we had requested for her to go bilingual). She also made great recommendations to us and also patiently answered all our questions regarding Suzhou today. We left the tour feeling we know Suzhou and China much better and also made a new local friend!

Can't recommended this tour enough and our guide, Sunny! Completely tailored to our interests, Sunny made sure we saw all the sights and sounds of Suzhou and wasn't phased by our constant questions. Suitable for any age and fitness level. Highly recommend - Sunny is a gem!!
