Itinerary
Be ready for pickup at your central Gold Coast hotel in the early evening, and travel inland to Springbrook National Park. This protected Queensland oasis offers an abundance of hiking trails through the ancient Gondwana rain forest and feels worlds away from the bustling beaches of the coast.
As darkness descends across the forest, use a provided flashlight to make a short trek to the Natural Bridge Cave, an impressive rock formation carved over thousands of years by the force of a waterfall. Today it’s home to a protected colony of glow worms, tiny creatures largely invisible during the daylight that put on a dazzling, luminous display after sundown.
Keep an eye out for other nocturnal wildlife such as bats, owls, and tree frogs as you listen to the sound of the forest coming alive all around you. Toward the end of the tour, there will also be an opportunity to switch off the flashlights and gaze up at the starry, unpolluted night sky before hopping back in the coach for the return drive to your hotel.

Our tour guide was the best!!! Mila was very informative and happy to answer any questions. The walk was a little scary but so totally worth the end view. The glow worms were glowing. It was amazing and something unforgettable. Spectacular. Great for all ages.

Amazing experience, beautiful place, didn't know anything like this exists in the world, peaceful and joyful feelings!

Okay. Three hour tour. One hour to drive to the glow worm cave. Thirty minutes to walk to the cave once tour bus parked. Five minutes at the cave then thirty minutes walk back to the bus Then one hour drive back. Nice driver and tour guide. Tour exactly as described. I. guess that is was worth it.

Staff is very friendly and helpful. She is knowledgeable and a good story teller, providing information about glow worm. She also provide a very good service guiding us through the darkness of national park and point out to many interesting point along the way.

When I booked this tour, I let them know that we would be exploring the area for a couple of hours prior and that we would like to meet them at a meeting location of their choice near the start you the “tour” versus being picked up by a shuttle as we would already be there. We clarified the meeting location and time twice. Not once did they mention that this “Tour“ was exactly the same short (and free) walk that we were doing before meeting up with them. We called the company and asked them about this. No response. We decided to wait for the tour guide in the event that there would be something additional added. The tour guide did not show up between the times we agreed. We waited an additional 20 minutes and finally went on the “Tour“ on our own. Please know that there is no parking fee, no entrance fee and this is an entirely free thing to do. (Bring a red light flashlight as we did) They offer shuttle pick up, but that is what you will be paying for. We did not use the shuttle pick up and we’re very disappointed that they did not mention that this “Tour” was a completely free and short walk where we let them know we would already be exploring. STILL no response from the company (they did leave one voicemail 45 minutes later stating that the tour guide had not seen us but like I said, we waited an additional 20 minutes beyond the half hour window we had agreed-upon). It was a very clear location to meet. Very little/no cell reception. VERY DISAPPOINTED

We booked a tour. There was no tour guide details available. We arrived on site in the dark to a construction site. There was nothing there to tour. We were ripped off and given no info about who to meet or where just a time. Absolute rubbish. I will never book with you gain. Give me a refund now!

Hi we are really apologies, as I sent email on that night, due to system error booking came thought to my system. Actually Glow Worm tour in that day was on request base, sorry for all the inconvenience caused. I will discuss with VIator this matter. Thanks

We really enjoyed this tour. Our two boys 7 and 10 especially liked the commentaries and learning lots of interesting things on this tour. We completely geeked out on the science bit.

The worst tour of my life. The tour guide was incredibly rude. Not worth the money. I would recommend renting a car and go there yourselves.

I would like you recommend this tour to my friends!

Truly amazing! Our tour guide also brought us for star gazing while up to the cave. The tranquility at the glow worm cave and the clear explanation by the tour guide made my experience an unforgetable one!

This tour was great! I'd recommend it for people that want to see something different and unusual. We enjoyed the star gazing as well. We actually found out that the moon faces the opposite direction in Australia than it does in the northern hemisphere. Dinner was ok and the people were nice at the country club. If I had it to do over i'd skip the dinner and just take the tour.

Great experience, definitely something you can experience in only a couple places! I recommend wearing long sleeves, pants and covered shoes. They do provide little torches as a light to guide your way through the park at night. The drive to the national park does include a windy road so something to consider before going on the tour if you get motion sickness. Our tour guide, Darren, was a great tour guide and was very informative.
Min X, Oct 2015
The tour guide was late to the pick-up and rush through the time in the national park.

The tour was great because of the guide. He was amazing.
Wai C, Apr 2015
Very interesting experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable and able to explain the forest and the ecosystem. The Stars were amazing that night.

CAUTION for singles or couples - Book your tour a couple of days BEFORE leaving the coast! I originally had mine booked for a Sunday night, but it was cancelled due to no other bookings (they need a minimum of 4 travellers). We rescheduled for Monday and went with a group of 4 others. Our guide was great, very knowledgable and did his best to engage with everyone, including translating fluently in Japanese. Very impressive! We were picked up right around the corner from our hotel and dropped back off at the door. The golf club where we had dinner was lovely. It's a pity we couldn't take pictures of the worms, but if you enjoy nature or are just looking for a nice night out, this tour is a must do.

My family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, aged 10 and 8) went on this tour on our last night on the Gold Coast. Our guide was really knowledgeable, not only about glow worms, but about the history and geography or the area, and the stellar constellations and 'nearby' galaxies, which we observed on the return trip. We were also SUPER impressed by his bilingualism; the others in our tour group were Japanese without any English (as far as we could tell) and our tour guide switched seamlessly from explaining things in colloquial Aussie English to explaining them in colloquial Japanese so that neither party feeling lost or left out.
The only downside to the tour was the dinner: there was only really one course since cheap vanilla ice-cream and topping isn't really a dessert for adults

This tour was amazing!! Our tour guide was great. It was so beautiful.
Dale M, Mar 2014
Really enjoyed this tour. The guide was fabulous and provided a lot of info not only about the glow worms but the gold coast itself.
Josh M, Jan 2014
I did not enjoy being told I couldnt speak on the bus to my partner. No stargazing happened due to weather which is fine however no thoughtfulness was given seeing as it was advertised in the package. And I hardly think that a bread roll is considered as a course.Didnt enjoy eating arrangment at all
HammerDhai, Jan 2013
Recommended as you can never see glow worms during daytime so you have to join an evening tour, but it is very crowded!
Kinjal Basu, Apr 2012
It was very enjoyable. The guide was superb and we had a very nice thing to see!
janetangy, Oct 2011
Our guide Darren was great! He was well informed about everything from stars to glow worms. He was funny and warm.
The glow worm cave was fascinating. The forest itself was mesmerizing. This tour..worth every penny!

Thrilling experience of walking accross the night rain forrest! The cave with glow worms left me wordless because of breathtaking emotions of the moment!
Angie, Dec 2008
Totally fantastic! You will never see anything like this in your life, topped off by a clear night to see all the stars from the outback and a shooting star.
Tee Chong L, Oct 2008
It was really nice to be able to see something unique...they were really a sight.
EVAN V W, Aug 2008
We had fantastic drivers and guides. Gave us a run down on the history of the Gold Coast and even suggested thing we could do on our holiday. I would also highly recommend the tour. Something you will never forget.
