Watch the sunrise from the top of East Java’s Mount Bromo during this full-day excursion. Your tour begins at midnight when you are transferred to the trailhead to begin your trek. Most of your hike is done in the dark, with headlamps to assist you, but you are rewarded with a stunning sunrise with clouds surrounding the volcano.

Going for "Sunrise trip" with no sunrise?

No time for anything, they hurry all the trip. They texted us the day before the trip that they will pick us up at midnight, so we went to sleep and set alarm for 23:45. When we woke up I had missed calls from our driver who texted me at 23:25 that he is waiting for us. After picking up other people (there were 6 of us in the Jeep) we went for a 3 hour journey to the volcano, but the jeep is so uncomfortable and packed that you simply can’t sleep. We arrived to King Kong Viewpoint at around 3AM, the driver just showed us the direction where to go and stayed at the car. He also told us to be back at the car at 5:30 even though the sunrise time is officially at 5:33. So you arrive at the viewpoint at complete darkness, ahead of other people, and exactly at the moment when it starts to be interesting, when the sky starts to be dark blue and you can see the wonder under you, you should pack and go back to the jeep as the walk to the jeep takes 15 minutes. The driver told us it is because long queues that are on the streets later, but if I woke up at midnight for a sunrise I don’t care about waiting in queue on the way back, I want to see the sunrise as it was precisely the reason for the entire trip… Next stop is a walk to a rim of a volcano, the driver gave us 45 minutes to go there and back. Only the way to the rim took us 35 minutes, how should we enjoy the amazing views if have to rush back? Of course the driver waited for us, but you simply don’t enjoy the time you paid for if you are being rushed all day. We saw a lot of other amazing viewpoints along the way back but we didn’t stop anywhere, not even just for a quick photo.

Had an incredible experience on our mount bromo sunrise tour. Our guide was so attentive and made sure we had everything we needed and also ensured we found great spots to view the sunrise even with the crowds (and took great photos of us!). The jeep experience was really fun and there were plenty of opportunities to order hot tea or coffee and small snacks to warm up while waiting for the sunrise once we got to the top. the car was very comfortable so we could sleep on the way there and back. We were even able to arrange a pickup in malang and drop off in surabaya so we could catch our flight out later that day.

Terrible service for the price ! Don’t recommend

While the tour company organised a guide and car to come and pick me more or less on time from the location communicated ahead in time. The so called tour guide was an extremely inexperienced and no knowledge at all. She took me to sunrise spot accompanied me. When we went to the crater walk she didn’t want to walk so gave some lame excuse and left me by myself - I went alone all the way to the crater and came back by myself. No cellular network left me wandering to find them. I wish there was a star below 1 . After paying over my nose - i didn’t expect this.

To watch the sunrise from mount bromo so near to me it’s a lifetime experience. The guide Sugiarto is so knowledgeable & friendly. The driver from Surabaya Hassan is a very careful driver as well as the jeep driver (can’t remember his name). A memory that we will never forget!
