Early start, long day. Totally worth it Modest dress as those who are shorts are asked to wear a wrap to cover up My tour was ran by Sharm smile tours The driver was excellent the guide Mahmoud clearly was passionate about the history of Egypt and Sinai. As it was a private tour it went at your pace. Definitely worth the extra cost. Lunch over looking the sea at dahba was very good. Truly a great day !

Worth every penny! Do yourself a favor and spend a little more and take this private tour. Our guide Mohammed is incredibly knowledgeable about Egypt. He taught us not only about Saint Catherine but about Egypts history and culture. The tour includes an incredible lunch in Dahab at the Ali Baba Restaurant overlooking the Red Sea. Lunch was amazing and so delicious!! We were picked up in an air conditioned car from our hotel and returned directly to our hotel. It was an unforgettable experience. 5 stars!!!

An excellent day trip to St Catherine’s monastery. Great communication on where to meet and what to bring (breakfast box from the hotel to eat at a well appointed service station - welcome given the 6.00am start; passport for possible checks). Great guide (Mohammed) and driver (who was very safe driver , no speeding ). St Catherine’s was marvellous as a historical site (even if not a religious person). The ancient icons were stunning and well displayed . The church itself was feast of the senses- for the oldest church in constant use this is to be expected but has to be seen to be believed . Ample time to look around . The biblical story of the burning bush was well explained and the actual bush still in evidence. Scenic journey through the Red Sea hills was great as was lunch at Ali Baba’s restaurant in Dhahran. All in all a great day out . Our guide was very knowledgeable and interesting - lots of information on St Catherine’s of course but also on Sinai .

It was great seeing the burning bush, the well of Moses and the church of transfiguration. The history and the spirituality connected to the sites were awesome to actually behold. It was also great seeing the foot of Mt Sinai where Moses climbed up the mountain to receive the ten commandments.

Burning Bush was really a memorable part. Guide Nabeel is amazing with full of knowledge and good conduct. He was very friendly and became a part of family. He showed us each and every thing in the monastery. In fact after reading the reviews about Nabeel I booked this trip through viator. Lunch at Dhahb city was delicious and location of restaurant was excellent. I must recommend to others to book St. Catherine Monastery tour through Viator and especially with Guide Nabeel.

Our guide Nabil was knowledge, funny, and patient with our group. Pick up was very timely. Lots of interesting information on the drive with a short gas station break for coffee and toilets. St. Catherine's itself was beautiful and the best parts don't allow photos so I can't prove it to you but it is well worth the visit whether you are a believer or not. Lunch in Dahab was fantastic both the food and the ambience on the water. We did a little shopping before hopping back in the van for the drive back to our hotel. We were especially grateful to be in a small group because inside the monastery the passage ways and iconography museum can be a bit small. Great tour that exceeded all of our expectations.

Our day trip to St. Catherine's and Mount Sinai, was one of my favorites on our trip to Egypt. Our guide, Nabil, was an expert on the history of the Monastery, and extremely knowledgeable about the importance of the mountain for the Christian, Jewish, and Muslim religions. We opted to hike to the summit. It was more difficult than anticipated, so we rented camels, which was the way to go. I would give this tour and our tour guide Nabil, a 10 on a scale of 0 - 10.
