Itinerary

Meet your driver your hotel in Sedona, Oak Village, or Flagstaff for an early morning departure, then board a climate-controlled vehicle for the scenic trip to the Colorado Plateau. The drive itself is a highlight of the trip: you’ll pass through Oak Creek Canyon, see the San Francisco Peaks, and travel through the colorful landscape of the Painted Desert.

Pause to stretch your legs and shop for souvenirs at the Cameron Trading Post, where Zuni, Navajo, and Hopi artists bring their work, then continue towards the Colorado River.

Upon arrival at Antelope Canyon, join a guide for a hike through the colorful and photogenic slot canyon. Then hike to Horseshoe Bend, and enjoy views to the Colorado River far below, which loops back on its own course to form a dramatic, U-shaped curve. After the hike, continue to Glen Canyon Dam.

This full-day tour concludes with return transfer to Sedona.

Nature's wonderment

Michele_G, Apr 2023
Guides were very informative, both on bus trip & Navajo guide at Antelope Canyon. Long ride, but Nature's scenery in Canyon was worth it.

Fantastic Day!

Lee_B, Oct 2022
Our guide Jeff was fantastic, conveying a wealth of information about a wide range of topics from history, to local tips, to flora and fauna, etc. The bus was small but comfortable and the tour size - 10 - was ideal. Horseshoe bend is a marvel but the real star of the tour was the slot canyon. Again, Jeff set the stage beautifully and then handed us off the Lionel, our Navajo guide. Lionel was equally fantastic. He helped us take stunning photos and provided us with a special memory when he played his Navajo flute for us inside the canyon. Glorious, if long, day but totally worth it!

❤️💙

Kat was such an amazing guide. I can't say enough goods things about her. And the places we seen absolutely fantastic. Also the antelope tour was so much more then expected. Our guide there keep taking pics for everyone in the group. I could go on and on about it all. Highly recommended

Amazing!

Fun day trip with beautiful sights

Bruce_W, May 2022
We had an awesome day starting with the drive with our very knowledgeable tour guide Steve explaining what we were seeing making and making sure we were comfortable through our trip. Horseshoe Bend was fun but my favorite was Antelope Slot Canyon is a must see.

From the outlet, our Driver (Dominic) set the tone for the day - arrived early and he was very personable. The drive was smooth and full of historical insights from Dom. The van was clean and comfortable. The stop at Horseshoe Bend was a nice surprise, but Antelope Canyon was breathtaking and no words can describe. Our on-site tour guide Leonard was off the hook - informative and helpful with the best spots for pictures. Would rate the entire day a 10+ if possible.

Awesome October Antelope Slot Canyon Tour

Robert_S, Oct 2021
Wonderful tour of the Antelope Slot Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. This October we had beautiful weather and smaller than usual crowds at each location. Our guide Ed shared his extensive knowledge of history and anthropology with many amusing anecdotes and stories on the comfortable shuttle and at each stop. A short and easy hike to Horseshoe Bend offered many vistas for photos. At Page, we switched to a Navajo tour group, and our excellent guide Leland led us through the Upper Antelope Slot Canyon sharing history and stories, and taking amazing pictures for each of member of our group. I would highly recommend this tour.

Highlight of Our Vacation!

Views were spectacular and it was well guided and explained. The hikes were not strenuous and the photo opportunities were plentiful.

Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend

Jerry F, Jul 2019
Great tour. P/u at hotel in Sedona for appox 12 hour day. Ed, our guide was just terrific. Be prepared for the heat when outside the van, which was very comfortable. Walk from the parking lot to the viewing point is a good hike at Horseshoe Bend. Uphill coming back so be prepared. The canyon was wonderful. You will be guided through by local Native Americans since this is on their reservation. Their assistance with camera shots is marvelous. Long day but would highly recommend for adults . Children not so much unless they can care for themselves. Both locations can get crowded. Just so you know. Off season would be less crowded if that is an option for you.

Good— but poorly planned

mariah_s, Nov 2018
Our driver picked us up 2 hours late, and we had no way to contact them for the whole first hour so we thought we were not going to get to go at all. Our entire schedule was messed up and we weren’t able to eat until after 3pm although we woke up at 5am to be on time for this. The locations were beautiful though.

We spent an amazing day with Kathryn who was the perfect guide. Her enthusiasm and love of this land was truly infectious. The tour started on time, with a picturesque drive through ever changing landscapes. Horseshoe Bend was breathtaking. We walked along the cliffs with each turn a new site to behold. Our final stop was to Antelope Slot Canyon where our Navajo guide Irwin took us through the canyon, telling us the story of its history and showing us the perfect positions to take award winning photos. All in all, this was a 5 Star excursion. Kathryn, thank you for a truly memorable day.

Antelope slot canyon was absolutely amazing. Our tour guide navajo indian, Irwin was awesome and funny. He helped each with how to use their cameras to get amazing shots. Need to be able to get up into high truck. Great Venture Tours provided the transportation and information about the local sites. Charlie was great. He new when to share info. and when to let us rest or enjoy the view during the drive.

Our tour guide Lynn was great. She gave us some of the background as we drove up through the Oak Creek as well as some Navajo inside information she'd gleaned from people she knew. The walk through Antelope Slot was great. Plenty of pushy people though. Horseshoe bend had tons of tourists and it felt crowded, but I understand we had a pretty good day as sometimes the crowds are overwhelming. All in all a great trip and we'll look for other trips next year.

Overall it was a great experience and Upper Antelope Canyon was beautiful and our guide Leonard was terrific! He is a Navajo Nation treasure! He patiently took pictures for our entire group and also played a beautiful song at the end. We have some awesome pictures! We definitely could have used more time at Horseshoe Bend, 42 minutes simply isn't enough time to go down and back up the steep hill in the heat and not feel rushed. Also, from what I've read I think our pictures could have been better if we went to Upper Antelope canyon in the morning instead of the last part of our tour. The light is better earlier, and our pictures were dark in the middle of the canyon. Our bus driver, Lynn was very informative of the local flora and fauna, in addition to extensive knowledge of the origin of Sedona and the Navajo Indians!

Rochelle M, Jul 2017
This 12-hour tour was, without question, one of the highlights of our trip -- and we had already been in town for three days and spent considerable time at the Grand Canyon! Our shuttle driver picked us up right at our hotel, and kept us informed throughout the trip about what we were seeing, where we were going, and how long we'd be there. Before we began, we were treated to a great show by Navajo dancers. Horseshoe Bend was fantastic. There is a slight hike uphill to see it, but bring plenty of water and go at your own pace the altitude can be difficult for some, and you'll be fine. Antelope Canyon was a sight to behold. Our tour guide was a hilarious i.e., he pointed out presidents' faces in the certain angles of the rocks Native American named Leonard who knew every angle and iPhone setting we should use to capture the best shots and vivid colors. My photos are so great, I might print and frame a few of them! Our tour guide stopped the shuttle at key points during the day for restroom breaks and snack purchases. We also stopped at a fantastic store called Cameron Trading Post, where I found countless souvenirs for friends at home. A wonderful time, start to finish! Wear comfy shoes, bring SPF, money for snacks, a hat -- and bandana since there is some sand dusting down inside the slot canyon.

Our trip to Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Canyon was everything that was promised. Our guide JR was friendly and very informative about the whole geographic area. It was a long day for all but the trip went exactly as explained including a delicious boxed lunch and there was plenty of cold water provided as it was about 100 degrees that day! The sights were amazing ! I would recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see something different from the usual sights.
