    Fantastic experience

This trip was one of my highlights of my Latam trip. I was a bit concerned because of less reviews: bringing your own towels and toilet paper though also the tour operator mentioned to bring own towels or rent. The hostels we got appointed provided all, including soap and were spotless clean, This is a great adventure which I highly recommend

    Falsely advertised

Speaking with the agent we paid for the return journey back to San Pedro. But what they actually did was book us for an extra night. This didn’t work for us as we had flights to make in calama. The agent was very rude and said he told me in the messages which weren’t actually mentioned. We ended up missing the salt plains as the company left us high and dry. We had to get a bus back to calama. There is lots of driving on rough terrain. The agent said it’s not his fault as we didn’t explain we had flights when I questioned what the return. The 3 day 2 night doesn’t return to San Pedro but they took the money for the return.

The sights & navigating through the Bolivian National Parks in a 4x4 was so cool! Our guide was awesome and super helpful on answering all of our questions. However, the food and accommodation was not what I expected. I didn’t have breakfast for any of the days of my trip because there was no gluten free option (pancakes, bread, cake were served). Viator had said they could accommodate but they didn’t. I wish I had known and brought more food. The second night accommodation had no running water for the first three hours of our stay. Which I feel is something that should be communicated to guests since the trip is not cheap. They also had no soap or towels again something you should be informed in advance. Before this trip I was camping & staying in hostels, so I’m very fine being self sufficient. But for the price of this trip you would have expected basic necessities: water, soap, decent meals.

    A great trip

The tour was really great. Incredible landscapes, we got very close to lamas, saw many flamingos. Our guide Daniel was great and spoke perfectly well english. The driver was very nice too. We were told to bring 350 bolivianos but I think it did not cost us more than 250 per person (including toilets and wifi). I will insist below on the negative points but it was really a great trip and we would do it again! The first morning we waited at least 2 hours at the border and took the breakfast outside of the van. It was very very cold so don't forget to take layers of clothes. The 2 seats at the back of the van were not very comfortable since the roof was low but we regularly exchanged places. The only other drawbacks came from the hotels. In both the bed sheets were not changed. In Vilmar Malcu the room and the blankets were not very clean. The last night they wanted to give us a room with shared bathroom even though it was not what was agreed. The hotel in Chuvica was brand new however, they tried to make us pay for the towels we had to insist that it was not normal. The room were a little cleaner than in Villmar Malcu. We had hot water in both hotels which was very nice. However, in both hotels (and during the whole trip) the food was simple but very nice. We paid 100 euros extra per person to have a private room. It was not necessarily worth it since the others were only 1 or 2 per room. A lady who booked the trip at San Pedro paid half as much as we did (200 euros instead of more than 400 euros).

    Amazing trip

Really good trip, had power and hot water both nights. Saw llamas and flamingoes. Highly recommend this trip

Good but paid too much booming online in advance

Trip was fine, the scenery is amazing and the drivers get you to all the relevant points in an organized fashion. Accommodations are incredibly basic. I learned on my tour that booking via viator platform vs haggling around town meant I spent 3x (granted maybe a little less bc I paid for private room). There are dozens of these tours that do all the same thing. Best price found in town.
