Be prepared for a really long day

The tour company was fabulous, but it’s a long day and a long drive and not overly picturesque. Half the seats face at one way on the train and half face the other way. So you could be traveling backwards which makes me nauseous. The seats are pre-assigned at the train station.You’re knee and knee for quite a period of time with the people sitting across from you . It was worse than flying economy. It is nice that they have you change sides of the Planes halfway through the trip. All in all I’m not sure I would recommend this if you have other things you could do instead

A highlight of our visit to Salta

This bus/train trip is visually stunning. The altitude can be an issue for some people ( we took Diamox before hand and had no issues). If you need a non Spanish tour guide make sure you specify this when you pick up your tickets at the train station. We speak English and initially were put on a Spanish/French bus. Fortunately we were able to switch at the first rest stop. You can book the tickets for this excursion directly at the Tren de Nubes site and this is cheaper than going through a secondary provider. All the tour operator provided was a transfer to a from the train station. Definitely a highlight of our visit to Salta.

Pros: ● Bus was nice. ● Stops were fine. ● The train was fun. ● Guides were sweet but... Cons: ● Although this is sold as having English-speaking guides, they nice young women shortchanged the few English speakers, talking for ten minutes in Spanish then only a minute or two in English. ● Funny and misleading to sell this as a "Private Tour" since nothing about it is private on the big buses!

Very good experience. Just a repair: travelers should be advised to have lunch on the train as the suggested restaurant is very bad and the time for meals is small.
