If I could give the Kinderdijk Bike Tour with Marco six stars, I would! It is well worth it. Marco is an amazing guide and a true Kinderdijk local who got to know me and my friend on the waterbus ride from Rotterdam to Kinderdijk. He then added to the tour and tailored the experience to us. After picking up our e-bikes in Kinderdijk, Marco took us to a village bakery for a delicious pastry and coffee. We then set off for a visit to a working windmill (milling flour) in a nearby village. We spent an hour with one of the volunteer caretakers who had us climbing inside the windmill, showing us the gears and answering all our questions about the engineering. We then went outside for a demonstration - with our assistance - how to set the sails and turn the cap. Following that remarkable experience, we biked around the nearby farmland and villages - roughly 10 miles. Throughout our journey, Marco took photos and shared them with us. He is by far one of the best tour guides I have used over the years. I highly recommend this experience with Marco.

We met up with Marco at Rotterdam Centraal and then headed over to Kinderdijk by boat. Marco had a wealth of information and delivered in a friendly and approachable manner! We toured the countryside stopping at cafes, checking out the wildlife, learning first hand about windmills from locals, met cheese makers and sampled and bought wonderful cheese varieties, had ice cream, and took tons of pictures along our journey … many by Marco and his awesome iPhone photography skills. I highly recommend this tour if you want to do something personal, connect with the local people and culture, enjoy being out in the country, and love to have a guide who is friendly, knowledgeable, and super personable! We had the best time. Thank you Marco!!!

My husband, daughter and I went on the bike tour through Kinderdijk with Marco. He was so kind and patient. He picked us up from our hotel and we took the ferry to Kinderdijk, rented the e-bikes and proceeded to ride through the countryside. We went to this adorable little bakery and were treated with a delicious latte and coffee cake. We then took a tour of a grain windmill, which was extremely interesting, The two volunteers who ran the mill were so informative and entertaining. We then took the rest of the bike tour, which I enjoyed the most. Riding through the country, along the canals and farms and, of course, the beautiful windmills, was an experience of a lifetime! We had an amazing time and owe it all to Marco. Such an amazing experience!!

We had an amazing time riding bikes through the trails seeing the local sites to include a historical and informative tour of. 3 rd generation working windmill with stones to grind flour. The scenery of the local farms with cattle and summer homes with gorgeous gardens and flowers was a true highlight. All in all a splendid bike tour with a friendly and informative guide who stopped at all the scenic locations to ensure we had wonderful photographic memories of our day. The best part was that our tour was willing to make modifications to our agenda to meet our needs. We would highly recommend this tour. Fantastic!

I had a private tour with Marco and let me tell you 100/10! As a solo female traveler, it is hard to feel comfortable and trusting HOWEVER Marco is incredible. Great with communication (even customized the tour time to better fit my schedule), was so kind and helpful! We had such a great time together and he is an AMAZING photographer! Would recommend this tour to anyone traveling in the Netherlands!

We knew we would enjoy your Kinderdijk biking tour because we bike a lot and because we love Windmills, both of which we would be getting. What we " hoped" to get was a good tour guide....but who we got was an
incredible young man, MARCO! His home being there on Kinderdijk added
a personal passion to his informative guide of the areas. MARCO customizes his tours to the time allotted and the wishes of his clients, so we rode to a lot of windmills and never felt rushed. Photo Ops were @ perfect stopping sites. We even stopped for coffee and apple streusel cake.
MARCO'S personality & enthusiasm added total fun to an already WOW day.
We also appreciated his prompt replies to our emails prior to the tour.
The bikes were good for the tour...not e- bikes; not needed for the terrain.
No helmets.
We will definitely recommend MARCO and look forward to returning with
family.
Thank you

I had the best time! Marco was amazing! It was just me and him. He was an excellent guide and friend for the day. He made sure I got back for my return safely and he even offered to take pictures and make videos of me along the way. It was a beautiful experience and I highly recommend it. The bike ride and area is just beautiful and peaceful. It’s a must do and a must see if you like nature and riding bikes!

This tour was truly a pleasure. A very thoughtful and personalized journey that made Kinderdijk feel like home! The biking was so fun and allowed for a beautiful (almost spiritual) experience as we travelled through the Dutch countryside. Our tour guide Marco was an absolute joy and was the main reason the tour was so fantastic. The tour felt seamless and we were given excellent info regarding transportation that served us for the rest of our trip. Highly recommend.

Escape the busy city for an afternoon. This Dutch country side tour is very relaxing and you are surrounded by picture postcard scenery at nearly every turn. I went on an earlier morning trip which was nice to avoid the afternoon crowd that started to form as we were wrapping up our day. Marco is personable and truly wants you to get the most out of your experience. If I am every lucky enough to return to the Rotterdam area I would absolutely do this again.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Jeffrey, your recommendation are very much appreciated. I really enjoyed making the experience with you. always welcome for another visit thank you very much.

First of all the weather was super , blue skies and a small breeze. The bike ride through the countryside was so pleasant and scenic . We loved seeing the swans, ducks with their ducklings, rabbits and even the cows. This all added to our ride. Then came the windmills, such a sight.
Marco was great. He was very informative and pleasant. The stop for the apple pie treat was perfectly timed.
We were on a bit of a travel frame but he managed the ride perfectly for us to be back in time to catch the correct return SeaBus. A great day overall.
Response from Host, May 2023
Dear Tish, thank you very much for your great feedback, it's nice to hear that you really enjoyed the countryside.
kind regards
Marco.

Marco was great! We were staying in Delft and had to take the train to Rotterdam. He picked us up- took the tram and got us to the water taxi. The tour itself was very peaceful. We were not rushed. Bike path is fairly flat so it’s not a difficult ride for children or older adults. Great Experience.
Response from Host, May 2023
Thank you for your kind words Nicole. Was a pleasure to had you and your family in the tour.
Thank very much.

Even though it was just Marco and I, I had a lovely time. He was great company and felt like sharing a relaxing day in the countryside with a friend. The scenery was beautiful, the tour of the windmill museum was interesting (and busy with tourists), and I loved the small farm to try some cheese!
My favorite part was honestly just riding along the winding quiet paths in the polders enjoying the swans and geese, the crunch of the bike tires on the ground and stopping for a koffie.
Wonderful time, highly recommend
Response from Host, Apr 2023
Hi Matthew, thanks a lot. For sharing your feedback. It nice to that you had a wonderful time, and great experience during your tour. Thank you again.

This was a wonderful tour to Kinderdijk to see all the windmills. Marco was very helpful as I was booking the trip. My guide, Marga, met me at the waterbus dock in Rotterdam. I was the only person on the tour, so it felt like I was spending the day with a nice friend. I'm so grateful that Marco allowed my tour to go, with only me as the sole participant. Marga was an excellent guide and helped me pick up my bicycle when we got there. We had a nice ride through some of the small town and then the peaceful canals, coming at Kinderdijk from the back side. I was able to visit the windmill museums along the way. Marga was a most interesting companion, as she is a master cheesemaker and lives on a farm; I really enjoyed talking to her during the day. Everyone should pick this tour when going to Kinderdijk because they make it so easy to negotiate the waterbus and the site. I'm so glad I found this tour. Thank you so much, Marco and Marga.
