Itinerary
Begin your shore excursion with morning pickup from Warnemunde Cruise Center and travel by private, air-conditioned minibus toward Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp Memorial Site. The drive south takes you through northern Germany to one of the earliest concentration camps established by the Nazi regime.
At Sachsenhausen, meet your guide and explore the memorial grounds. Learn about the camp’s establishment in 1936, its role within the Nazi camp system, and how it later functioned as Special Camp No. 1 and No. 7 under Soviet administration until 1950. Your visit focuses on the historical development of the site, the experiences of those imprisoned there, and the broader context of persecution, forced labor, and mass violence during this period.
After the memorial visit, continue by private minibus to Berlin. During the drive, your guide provides background on World War II history and discusses the afternoon itinerary.
In Berlin, begin a historical sightseeing route that traces key locations connected to the Nazi Party and the city’s 20th-century history. Stops may include the site of Hitler’s former bunker and the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe. Continue to Checkpoint Charlie, a former Cold War border crossing, and visit a remaining section of the Berlin Wall at the East Side Gallery. The route also passes landmarks such as the Reichstag, now home to the German parliament.
Time is built in for a lunch break (own expense), with local suggestions available from your guide.
At the conclusion of your Berlin visit, return by private minibus to Warnemunde port, arriving in the evening to rejoin your ship.

This tour provided us with a great tour of Berlin and Sachsenhausen memorial. Your Guide Arial was great and saw to your every need. My husband uses a wheelchair and this tour was the best way for us to see all the important sites. I would highly recommend this tour and your guide.

We were on a cruise and wanted to see Berlin. This tour looked great, but we were weary of the 3 hour drive each way. The van was so nice that we actually enjoyed the drive as a comfortable rest before the packed tour. Our guide was excellent, and we loved every minute of this tour. We highly recommend this tour on its own or as a cruise excursion.

John (JJ) was so knowledgeable and accommodating he gave us one of the best private tours we've ever had! We were picked up right on time in a comfortable Mercedes-Benz passenger van for our two-and-a half hour ride to Berlin. We were two couples traveling on the Crystal Symphony who wanted to see the highlights of Berlin as well as the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. John literally made the Concentration Camp come alive with his knowledge of the history and details of the camp. From our tour of the camp in the morning we went into Berlin and had lunch at a great restaurant with him. Then on to the Berlin Wall, Checkpoint Charlie, the Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, Brandenburg Gate, and other historic sites. John's passion of history and the many human aspects that are often overlooked or forgotten made this tour one of the best we've ever had.
