Excellent small group tour (group of five) of Rostock with a local guide every step of the way for 4-5 hours. Met on time at the cruise building and was the same price as the cruise line tour; but theirs was a bus group of thirty, so this was much a better value and experience. Great guide : a retired professor at Rostock University . Highly recommend.

Excellent way to see the highlights of Warnemunde and Rostock from cruise ship

Mary_K, Jul 2025
Our multi-generational family of 6 enjoyed a beautiful day and excellent tour with Andreas timed perfectly with our stop in Warnemunde during a cruise. We were met by Andreas right outside the ship. We walked through the quaint town of Warnemunde - filled with historic cottages and flowers to the lighthouse and beach. Then we took a short train ride to Rostock and saw the square, courthouse, and university. We took the tram and then train back to Warnemunde with time to spare for lunch and shopping. Andreas was an amazing guide and we learned about living in East Germany before 1989 - which we weren't expecting!

Wandermunde & Rostock in a day

Teri_C, Jun 2025
Great tour to learn more specifically about life in both Wandermunde and Rostock. Yvonne, our guide shared so much cultural knowledge with us regarding everything we saw. Walking through the streets of Wandermunde, to navigating the train to Rostock (very easy), to the top sites in Rostock - we saw it all! Without this tour I never would have learned about the St. Mary”s anatomical clock of 1472 which captivated me. I thought, “oh great a visit to a church.” But boy was I wrong - I was fascinated with the architecture and beauty and then I saw the clock and wanted to learn everything about this marvel of time! While the tour does require much walking it was usually quite easy and the guide met us just off the ship and departed at the Wandermunde train station so we could explore the village at the end. Here there is a ton of shopping and delicious dining - a very beautiful port!

Great tour to Rostock and Warnemunde

Andrea_W, Jun 2025
This is a great tour if you like local travel and taking the train between cities. Our guide Yvonne was very knowledgeable and met us at the port in Warnemunde. We walked through part of the old town and then took a 25 min train ride to Rostock. It was an easy trip. Once in Rostock Yvonne took us through the main town which happens to be where she also lives. St Mary's church was a cool experience with the astronomical clock still working after centuries.of keeping time. The town of Rostock is very colorful and clean. We really enjoyed this tour.

Great tour of Rostock and Warnemunde

Marcie_R, Jun 2025
This tour involves taking public transportation to Rostock from Warnemunde. Although the weather was cold and blustery, our guide Berndt was able to explain the history of the area thoroughly. We started with the seaside resort town of Warnemunde, then Berndt ushered us onto the commuter train and tram to Rostock. Old Town Rostock was very interesting. He timed our arrival to catch the procession of the astronomical clock at noon, showing the 12 Apostles entering the clock, and explained how it was the oldest working astronomical clock in Europe. We explored Rostock University and it's archives. After our stop in Rostock, we took the tram and train back to Warnemunde. If the weather had been nicer, we would have liked to have some more free time in Rostock to grab more than a quick pastry.

Great tour guide made this a very memorable trip.

Chantal_S, May 2025
Our guide Yvonne was energetic and knowledgeable. She led us on our tour which included using public transportation. She ensured that we knew where to get off when we were seated away from her. Love this tour and loved the tour guide!

Learned a great deal about the history of architectural and social events. Rostock very beautiful. Warnemunde was also a new experience. German vacation town. Beautiful beaches and fresh fish sold off of local fishing boats. Great fun. Yvonne was a very knowledgable guide. Very professional and good awareness of time management and group organization.

Good Way to learn about the area and see a lot

Terry_M, Oct 2024
Nice experience. Our group was small, only 8 of us. Our guide Evelyn(?) was great. She first took us on a walk thru Waremunde. Then we boarded the train to Rostock. She shared information about her family and how it was in the area during post World War II, very interesting stuff. Her knowledge seemed good and we enjoyed seeing and hearing about the area

Awesome tour!

Yvonne was really good and very informative went out of her way to make it a memorable experience. She knew the history of the area very well

Great overview of Warnemunde & Rostock

Patty_H, Sep 2024
We spent a lovely 5 hrs with Yvonne, who walked our small group of 8 around Warnemunde and explained things we were seeing in the city. After our walk, we rode the train and a tram into the city of Rostock where she walked us to several places including St Mary's church with some very beautiful and interesting features. We broke for a short lunch on our own and regathered together for a walk up to the university area and then took the tram and train back to Warnemunde where the tour ended. The tour was at a great pace and walking was not difficult and she had the train tickets pre-arranged so it was very easy for us. Would recommend a tour with Yvonne,

We were pleasantly surprised with the charm and beauty of both Warnemunde and Rostock. We got to see the waterfront, university and cathedral. Our guide was outstanding. Her English was very understandable and she was interesting and answered all questions asked. It is certainly a tour I would recommend.

Wardemunde / Rostock waking tour

Herman_I, May 2024
The young lady that ran the tour was excellent. Very informative and pleasant. The tour was well worth the money taking us on a walking tour both to Wardemunde and Rostock including the train trip to Rostock and back to Wardermunde. Lovely places with a lot of historic value and a lovely time with the tour guide.

Response from Host, Jun 2024

Informative

Michele_F, May 2024
Good basic tour. 3 kids slowed down the tour, so it dragged a bit. Yvonne was a great guide with her heart in it. A bigger, more specific sign would help cruisers to find you amongst the chaos.

Norwegian Baltic Sea Excursion

Billy_N, May 2024
We booked this tour while on a Norwegian Cruise to the Baltic Sea. Andreas was very friendly and extremely knowledgably since he grew up there. He gave us a history lesson from the founding of the area, the WW2 experience and how life was like when Germany was divided into East & West Germany. Very informative. Beautiful area! Highly recommended!

Outstanding

Great walking tour of Warnemunde and Rostock with trains !

Kathleen_H, May 2024
Our guide (Sylvia?) was excellent - informative and fun. Lots of information and plenty of chuckles. Easy for our English speaker group to understand. The inclusion of a short tram/train ride was bonus.

Great Time

ROBERT_G, May 2024
Tobias was most interesting. He is very knowledgeable. His personality is charming, ranging from dry humor to whittiness. He did a great job balancing tour technical info with personal experience. Well worth the time and money.
