    Nature and goodies!

This was a really nice half-day-trip. We were picked up from our hotel. We got to taste different kinds of olive oil - I didn’t realize that there could be such a big difference! The Butterfly valley was absolutely amazing! Even if there would be no butterflies, it would still be a beautiful place but fortunately we did see many butterflies. Wonderful small waterfalls and beautiful trees. Then we had wine tasting. The place and the waitress seemed very knowledgeable. The wines were a bit more expensive than what I expected but ok. (We’ve been to a winery in Albania and the wines were 3,50€ per bottle…) The winery had really nice scenery. Then we visited the Bee Museum. It was really interesting and we bought many tasty souvenirs. George was really nice and he is clearly excited and interested in nature and the environment. We truly had a wonderful day!

Butterflies no - Bees - Yes

the Butterflies migrate to this portion of Rhodes in June so we did not see one butterfly. The walk and area is nice; however, I was disappointed that we were not told about the butterflies ahead of time.

Our guides were great and did their best but our tour was a bit disappointing. We went to Butterfly Valley and although we knew it wouldn’t be swarming with butterfly, we literally saw nothing - not even a caterpillar! We were then due to go on to the Bee Museum but this was closed so we couldn’t go there. We had a lovely time at the wine tasting which was fun and informative. We wouldn’t suggest this trip to anyone thinking of doing it at this time of the year. Other people at Butterfly Valley when we were said they felt ‘ripped off’. Unfortunately Viator were not at all helpful.

    Relaxed and informative

Very informative guide making it a really relaxing tour away from resorts and beaches. It was great to learn some history around the wine / olive oil / honey production.

    Definitely worth doing this

The butterfly valley was beautiful and a lovely shady walk with cafes to buy drinks. We saw quite a few butterflies even though it was the end of season but the waterfalls and pathways were enjoyable. The tour was a day really and we went to different areas for the oil honey and wine tasting, which was interesting and in a fantastic place. We went into the bee museum, and the olive oil place had a lot to tell us off local history. We had time for breakfast on Rhodes town first too which was great for us. We really enjoyed all aspects of the trip. The bus driver was also our guide and he was really good.

The wine tasting was great. The tour guide brought out a charcuterie platter to pair with the wines. We bought wine and candy at the honey tasting. We also bought oil and liquor at the oil tasting. Really fun day, would highly recommend.

    Engaging, informative and hot!

This was a great tour in terms of fitting a little bit of everything in a day. My husband and I stayed in Rhodes and wanted to experience the local history and tastes. There were 11 of us on a bus which wasn't even full. The tour guides were so nice, knowledgeable and passionate about everything local. They cracked some jokes here and there. They found out it was my husband's and my Wedding Anniversary and out on a song on the bus for us and everyone clapped at then end. I would recommend this to everyone. Though be prepared for the heat and walking. We didn't feel rushed although at the end I think we may have overrun a little. I left with a smile on my face and appreciation for greek wine, honey, olive oil and the mind blowing amount of butterflies. *note* the butterflies sleep in the day but there are still alot the fly around, the picture don't do it justice.

Great experience to learn and enjoy

Beautiful trip to the butterfly valley, over all pleased with the trip. We liked our guide very much.

    Lovely experience

Little early for the butterflies but still saw some. Really enjoyed the Bee museum and our guide was very knowledgeable. Again really enjoyed the wine tasting. Journey to and fro was pleasurabl.

A mixed experience but disappointing overall

A chaotic start to the morning with lots of people from different groups arriving in a small street at the same time to be sorted into their respective tours. It was obvious that the staff were stressed and in some cases were quite aggressive towards the customers- not a relaxing start to the day. I was pleasantly surprised that the tour wasn't cancelled although there were only 3 of us-this gave it quite a VIP feel and our guide was very friendly and chatty about the life and history of Rhodes. I enjoyed the walk through the Butterfly Valley but the foodie part of the tour was very disappointing. The Bee Museum is closed and there was no honey tasting. Claiming that pre-midday was too early for wine, we were taken to 7 Springs and a Ceramic Factory to pass some time. While I appreciate the gesture, these are not what I came for. There was a large number of wines to taste, but it felt like a sales pitch and lacked the knowledge and passion for the products that I've experienced on similar tours. There was little to no discussion about the olive oils- they were there but only because thy had to be. I was surprised at what I paid for this trip- I don't think it's good value for money and the information should be amended ASAP as it's not possible to deliver as advertised.

    Tolles Olivenöl, Honig und Weintasting

    Dominik_E, Oct 2024
