    Exciting view of the end of South America continent

    Exciting experience to see the end of South America continent and the converge of the Atlantic and Pacific Ocean. Be aware the Magallanes area is extremely windy and cold, wear appropiate warm clothes including hat , neck and hands clothes. History part is boring and the cafeteria too expensive, so bring snacks or wait to arrive at Punta Arenas for lunch or dinner.

    We had a great day out in the park with our guide Jose. He took us to the Fort and made sure we stopped on the way to take in some of the beautiful scenery and explained the history, the Chilean way fo life and how this developed. He was happy to answer our various questions.

    Prompt pickup, our guide Francisco and driver were very good and informative. Plenty of photo stops on route. Fort and museum were very good . Onsite restaurant very good too Excellent value for money.

    Tour did not take place

    The trip did not run. I waited at the advised pick up location, for a 9am pick up. The arranged pick up did not happen, and I did not receive any notification that there was an issue. I waited 30 minutes then tried to contact both Viator and the operator. The operator did not respond immediately. By 10am, the operator responded and said the van had mechanical issues. They offered a tour later in the day, I could not do that time. The reason I gave a 2 star rating is that the operator provided a prompt refund. I understand that issues can occur but there is no excuse for not notifying.

    The experience was great, the tour guide was awesome. Our ship docked at a commercial port instead of tendering, which is always great. But in this case (NOT), the ship used a shuttle bus to drop us off at the main square. I was suppose to met the guide outside the passenger port, in which I was not there. I called the company and they said no problem I will send the guide to come and pick you. He arrived a few minutes later and off we went, So Greatful. The tour was very nice spent a lot of time learning about the fort. The scenery was awesome, including the drive. Highly recommend this tour.

    Make sure there is an English guide if you don’t speak Spanish

    We signed up the trip and checked the box for an English tour guide. On the day of picking up, there is only a driver speaking Spanish only. Two other parties are Chilean and therefore not a problem for them. We missed all introductions en route to the fort. Fortunately the ranger gave a 15 minutes English briefing on site. The fort and surrounding waterfront are worth to visit though.

    First of all Valeria, the tour operator was phenomenal at keeping in touch with us. Our cruise was 3 hours late to port and she sent texts and emails reassuring not to worry that she would wait for us. Once on board the tour, details on the city, fort, and surroundings were fantastic. Plenty of time was given for walks and photos, stopping along the way in extra spots along the way. I would highly recommend her and her company Vientos del Sur. They made us feel welcomed and added that personal touch.

    Valeria, of local tour operator Vientos del Sur, spent a considerable amount of time in making it possible for us to take the tour. Then tour itself was interesting and covered the advertised itinerary. We recommend using Viator - Vientos del Sur, when in Punta Arenas, Chile.

    Nearly ruined the trip.

    They contacted and canceled the tour the night before the tour was supposed to start (at about 17:30). Nearly ruined everything since the next day was the last day I would be in Punta Arenas before moving to Torres del Paine. I understand schedules can change, however they could have informed me earlier so that I could try and find another agency. But they contacted me when all agencies, except for one, had been closed. I ended up doing the tour with this other agency (the only open one at that time), but since they only had it for private tours and didn't have any group tours, I ended up having to pay more more than twice than the viator price.

    It was a fun morning to lunch trip. The main thing for me was that it didn't indicate that the tour was going to be in Spanish only. I wouldn't have booked otherwise. I definitely would have appreciated it more if I knew how to speak Spanish or if the tour was also given in English.

    Estuve esperando que me pasen a buscar y eso no sucedió. Llamé a un teléfono que encontré en un mail y me dijeron que se habían olvidado de pasar a buscar. 45 min después me llevó José Manuel en un taxi, realicé todo el tours sóla con el, sin ningún inconveniente y con buenas explicaciones como guía también. Nunca ví ni me crucé con el grupo que en teoría vendría conmigo.

    Es un sitio histórico para adentrarse en los comienzos de la colonización en el fin del mundo. Muy bien mantenido, recorrerlo es recordar la presencia de aquéllos navegantes con su carga de ambiciones, cumpliendo órdenes de un Rey muy lejano. El bosque de ñires y lengas le otorgan un toque de vida en medio de la soledad junto al imponente Estrecho de Magallanes. Osadía de aquéllos tiempos aventurarse frente a lo desconocido. Una hermosa experiencia
