Tour cancelled due to high seas and wind. Ship couldn’t launch Tenders. Viator was great refunded our money right away.

    Need a new guide

    Rich_S, Mar 2026
Tour guide was lacking. One of our group has mobility limitations, at the cemetery the guide raced along with only the the part of the group that could keep up to him. Then he’d tell them all about what they were seeing. When we caught up, he moved along ahead again. At the place where there replicas of the old ships, he just dropped us off and told us to be back in 40 minutes. Another group had a guide who came in and gave background on everything we saw. I wished he were our guide. At the city’s main square, same story - dropped us off and told us when get back. No complaints about what saw, only on the lack of information from the guide.

    Standard city tour

This tour was a fairly standard city tour. Locations were interesting enough. Not for thrill seekers!

    Great experience

    Elisa_B, Feb 2026
We booked excursions with Yellow Penguin in 6 out of the 7 ports during our sailing on the Celebrity Equinox, and every single one of them was flawless. The consistency in quality across different destinations was truly impressive. All the guides were extremely professional, friendly, and knowledgeable, and you could tell they genuinely enjoy what they do. In this port, our guide Romina was outstanding — warm, engaging, and always attentive to the group’s needs. What also made a big difference throughout the cruise was how quickly and efficiently the Yellow Penguin team responded via WhatsApp whenever questions came up. That level of support gave us great peace of mind while traveling. After so many perfect experiences in a row, we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Yellow Penguin to anyone cruising South America.

    Poor show Viator

    Deborah_P, Feb 2026
What a disappointment. The guide was ok and seemed to know his stuff however his English wasn’t so good and we found it difficult to hear him even though there was only 4 of us on the tour. Alejandro seemed to be more interested in his drone that telling us what we were looking at while we were on the bus. The tour stated no fees to the museums and such like but only after booking and before the tour did we see that these were not included. Poor show Viator. One of the museums did not accept cards so we did not enter these, even Alejandro was not aware.

    nice tour

The tour was good, just as stated., unfortunately it rained all day which made it very difficult to see things.

    Highly recommended

From start to finish, Yellow Penguin delivered an outstanding experience. The communication before the tour was very clear and reassuring, which made everything feel easy and well organized. What we really appreciated was being met inside the terminal, right after disembarking, with a clearly visible sign — no stress at all. Our guide Harold was excellent: knowledgeable, friendly, and always attentive to the group. He shared great insights and made the day both informative and enjoyable.

Despite our cruise arriving almost two hours late due to weather conditions, Yellow Penguin handled everything brilliantly. From the moment we arrived, it was clear they were prepared and flexible. They adjusted the itinerary so we could still enjoy the experience without feeling rushed, and the service remained excellent throughout the day. What really impressed us was how proactive and helpful the team was. A couple of friends traveling with us had missed their original tour because it was a regular shared service with another operator. Thanks to Yellow Penguin’s quick thinking and willingness to help, they were able to accommodate them into our group, which truly saved their day. Clear communication, great coordination, and a genuine focus on customer care. We couldn’t recommend Yellow Penguin more highly for cruise passengers.

    excellent experience

Excellent experience. They always put themselves in my shoes throughout the entire tour. I've done this in a few countries, but this one stands out.

    Good tour but hidden charges

    Adrienne_R, Jan 2026
We didn’t see too much of Punta Arenas. The city tour was at meant to be at 8.30am, we got up at 6am to get our tender tickets. We just made it but had to wait for others to get off the ship anyway. We didn’t get started until nearly 10am. We had a small van with a driver and guide, Mano and Christopher, both were excellent. Our first stop was the Maggiorino Borgatello Salesian Museum. It features four levels displaying regional history of Chilean Patagonia native peoples, wildlife, and geology, providing context for visitors exploring the Strait of Magellan area. Unfortunately entrance fee was not included and we had no local currency. Luckily we had some USD. Next stop was Cemetery of Punta Arenas Sara Braun which is the public cemetery of the city of Punta Arenas. The monument cemetery has been ranked as one of the most beautiful in the world. We also had to pay in. Luckily they took cards. After visiting Mirador Cerro de la Cruz for a stunning panoramic view of the city, the guide took us to Rio Tres Brazos where beautiful Lupins bloomed. It was a magical treat. All in all a good tour but the entrance should have been included, even if the price had been $10 more.

Nickolas (Niko) was our guide who was well informed about the spots he took us too, and Miguel was our Driver. I enjoyed them and the fact that it was a small group was excellent. Viator needs to update the description because the Braun Menendez museum was not open and I googled it and found it had closed June 2025 for refurbishing. Niko did take us to Maggiorino Borgatello another museum but we had to pay a $5 admission fee, cash. The cemetery was amazing, and the monumento al shepherd was really interesting as well as the Magellan statue in the city square. They also took us to maritime monument - bonus! Not in the description but should be. Niko was so nice we went to the city sign and he got out of the van and took the picture for me. It was the end of the tour and I was cold…. All in all a wonderful visit. Viator might also want to include it is a very windy place and you should dress appropriately!

If you get Paul as your guide you are in amazing hands. He is knowledgeable, good fun and also very flexible to accommodate your wants/needs. Having said that the organization needs to update their website with regard to fees and admissions. There is an admission fee to the cemetery and we went to a ship museum, not the museum stated in the itinerary, which also had a fee.

This city tour was a little disappointing. First off, the bus left the port area late due to two members of the group being delayed on account of the port authority preventing the tender boats from docking while a fishing boat unloaded. The tour was advertised as an all inclusive price, yet we were asked to pay admission fees to the cemetery and the ship museum. Because of the delay described above, tour was shorter than the 3 hours we expected.

The tour was very poorly organised we didn’t start by going to the Plaza de Armes. We went to the Braun cemetery went in then got called back and we had to pay. The tour states free admission! Then we went to the view point followed by the chocolate shop. Then taken to the national museum given an hour and dropped off because no parking space. When we went in none of us could pay because you had to pay cash driver did not tell us this. Went back out side and the men had to flag the driver down on the other side of the road got picked back up. Then he asked if we wanted to go to the dinosaur park none of us did. We said we just wanted to see Plaza de Armes so he took us eventually he walked to the square with us after we looked at the statue we asked about going to the Braun museum so he walked us down only to find it is closed for renovations! We left after that and made our own way back to the cruise ship. A wasted morning on the whole. Surely a tour guide should know if things are closed or if you need cash to enter etc

Due to high winds we were unable to stop and tender into Punta Arenas . I contacted the tour group as soon as we’re were informed and without hesitation they gave us a full refund.
