Could be better

Charlie_T, Mar 2025
Our tour guide was a young enthusiastic lady and we appreciate her but she should learn how to be a tour guide -- cuz we ended up asking all the questions instead of her explaining the whole thing to us. The lunch was not what we expected - it was in a place similar to an old school cafeteria. Am not sure why. There was not much to see in the park and one cannot read anything as nothing was in english.

Response from Host, Mar 2025

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I'm truly sorry to hear that your experience on the Punta Arenas & Strait of Magellan Park Value Excursion did not meet your expectations. At Amigos Patagonia, we strive to provide engaging, informative, and seamless tours, and I regret that we fell short in this instance. We appreciate your comments regarding the guiding experience, and we will make sure to provide additional training to ensure all our guides deliver a more proactive and informative experience without relying on guests to lead the conversation. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve. Regarding lunch, we always aim to offer a local and authentic experience, but I understand it didn’t meet your expectations. We will take your comments into account as we evaluate our restaurant choices. As for the Strait of Magellan Park, while its beauty lies in its historical and natural significance, we understand that language barriers can be a challenge. We will explore ways to enhance our explanations to make the experience more accessible and engaging for all visitors. Again, I sincerely appreciate your honest feedback. If you ever return to Punta Arenas, I would love the opportunity to provide you with a more enriching and fulfilling tour experience. Best regards, Gerardo P. Jaque

Valentina rocks!

Fantastic day of history in Punta Arenas

Ruth_B, Feb 2025
This was a great day out with Juan, who is the most passionate and entertaining guide. His knowledge of the history, flora and fauna of the area and his love of the area was captivating. Empanadas and red wine in a roadside cafe, in a hut in a howling gale in the edge of the continent was a memory I will keep forever. Additionally I felt absolutely confident that I would return in time for all aboard.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hello, Thank you so much for your fantastic review! I'm delighted to hear that you had such a memorable day exploring Punta Arenas with Juan. He truly is one of our best guides—his passion, deep knowledge of history, flora, and fauna, and engaging storytelling make every tour an unforgettable experience. Your description of enjoying empanadas and red wine in a cozy roadside café, with the wild Patagonian winds howling outside, perfectly captures the magic of this region. It’s those unique moments that make exploring the edge of the continent so special! We also appreciate your trust in our team to get you back to your ship on time—it’s always a priority to ensure a seamless and stress-free experience. Thank you again for choosing Amigos Patagonia, and we hope to welcome you back for another incredible adventure in Chilean Patagonia!

Interesting visit to Port Bulnes on the Straits of Magellan. Not too much to see in Punta Arenas. Nice atmosphere in the square with statue of Magellan. Very friendly guide, Christian and driver Filipe. Probably a bit expensive for what it was.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Fun in Punta Arenas!

Joanne_T, Feb 2025
Great experience in Punta Arenas, Chile. Christen and Felipe did a wonderful job showing us around. We had a relaxed day with many surprises. Christen was very knowledgeable. He stayed with the group all through the tour. Explained history, flora, fauna and fun facts. Surprises included a fun empanada stop with some great wine and a beautiful chocolate shop. I highly recommend this tour if you are looking for a relaxed and fun day.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hello, Thank you so much for your wonderful review of our Punta Arenas & Strait of Magellan Park Value Excursion! Their passion for sharing the history, flora, fauna, and hidden gems of Chilean Patagonia truly makes each tour special. It’s great to know that you appreciated the relaxed pace and the fun surprises along the way—there’s nothing quite like delicious empanadas, great wine, and a visit to a local chocolate shop to make the day even more memorable! The perfect day in Chile

Holly_A, Feb 2025
We had a fantastic day with Eduardo. He is a master storyteller with a great sense of humor. The pace was perfect and we saw everything we wanted to see, plus much more. There wasn’t enough people booked for the group tour, so he offered us a private tour for no additional cost. We appreciated that he didn’t cancel the tour which was well within his right. We highly recommend his services.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hello, Thank you so much for your kind review! I’m thrilled to hear that you had a fantastic day exploring Punta Arenas and the Strait of Magellan. However, I just wanted to clarify—my name is Gerardo, not Eduardo! But I’ll take the compliment anyway. 😉 It’s always my priority to make sure visitors have the best experience possible, so I’m happy we were able to offer you a private tour rather than canceling. Patagonia has so much to offer, and I’m glad we could share even more than you expected! Your recommendation truly means a lot. If you ever return, I’d love to guide you through more unforgettable adventures in Chilean Patagonia. Warm regards, Gerardo P. Jaque

Flexible tour, great guide!

Carolyn_L, Feb 2025
Even though our water shuttle was quite late due to windy weather, we got the full tour. Valentina was a very energetic and engaging guide. We enjoyed all the stops and sites and never felt rushed. We enjoyed a delicious snack and an empanada with wine. A very nice day!

Great Experience

Julie_M, Feb 2025
Our guide, Gerrado, made the day! His knowledge of history and culture was exceptional. We visited such interesting sites and are now fans of Punta Arenas. Our small group was the perfect size to see and interact more than the big buses.

Response from Host, Feb 2025

Hello, Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re delighted to hear that despite the delayed water shuttle, the flexibility of our tour allowed you to enjoy every moment. Valentina truly is an energetic and engaging guide, and it’s wonderful to know that her enthusiasm, along with the stops and even that empanada with wine, made your day memorable. We appreciate your understanding of the weather challenges and are grateful for your kind words. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for another great adventure in Patagonia! Our guide Gerardo is one of the best that we have encountered.knowledgeable and very easy to talk with. He goes with the flow. Interesting and helpful. Good sense of humour and makes sure everyone’s needs are met. Would recommend Gerardo for future tours. If the first plan doesn’t work he has a second one in his back pocket. ✅

Valentina was an excellent guide, and the tour offered a comprehensive, well-planned itinerary, with built-in flexibility

Informative, entertaining tour.

geoffrey_B, Dec 2024
Excellent, all encompassing tour which visited all the major sites and included a complementary large pizza lunch. As a native, Gerardo’s knowledge of local history, culture, natural features, and politics enabled him to provide all information and answer any question. His English was excellent (honed from living in the USA for a time) and his witty sense of humor made for an interesting and entertaining day. The small group format and clean van transportation allowed us to cover the long distances, and then take active walks to the individual sites.

Great tour quide....Haroldo

Barbara_W, Dec 2024
Excellent, well explained tour by Haroldo. He was considerate, great sense of humour, very knowledgeable, eager to answer any questions.

Response from Host, Dec 2024

Hi there! First, thank you for your wonderful review—though I must confess, my name is actually Gerardo, not Haroldo. I like to think of "Haroldo" as my alter ego who swoops in to save tours with Patagonian charm and encyclopedic knowledge of Punta Arenas. 😊 It was a real pleasure showing you around this incredible part of the world. I’m thrilled you enjoyed the experience, and your kind words truly made my day. Sharing stories and laughs with visitors like you is what makes my job so special. Whenever you're ready for another unforgettable journey, Haroldo—or rather, Gerardo—will be here, ready to make it even better.

Happy kiwis

david_i, Apr 2024
Highly informative & relaxed tour delightfully hosted by Valentina. Empanadas & local wine for lunch a nice touch. Would recommend to anyone

Easy transport to the past and future of Punta Arenas

Doris_R, Mar 2024
Well planned and fun sightseeing/conversation with Gerardo who shared a lot of historical and current info with us about Punta Arenas and Chile. Also had an empanada lunch in the most southern restaurant on the South American continent thanks to Gerardo. Cesar was a great driver and gentleman throughout. We learned a lot and wholeheartedly recommend this tour.

Fun packed tour with lots of info.

Huay_W, Mar 2024
What made this tour great is our guide Juan and the driver Christopher. Juan was full of historic information and he was extremely enthusiastic in providing every little tidbits of facts about the area and the places we visited. Christopher was great driving us around efficiently as we visited the historic Fort, the ship museum, the cemetery and the city highlights. We did stopped for a quick empanadas lunch with a nice red wine. We enjoyed this tour very much. We really learned so much about Punta Arenas and the history of the surrounding areas including Patagonia.

We 8 friends had wonderful time with tour guide Geraro. He was very knowledgeable and engaging and friendly. I definitely recommend this tour

Expensive tour

Carolyn_Q, Mar 2024
This was over priced tour. Wasn’t a very interesting town though so I think they can’t give much in general. I would skip this one.

Response from Host, Mar 2024

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We're sorry to hear that our tour did not meet your expectations. We understand that every traveler has different preferences and interests, and we regret that our tour did not provide the level of interest you were seeking. While Punta Arenas may not appeal to everyone in the same way, we strive to offer experiences that showcase the unique charm and culture of the town. We appreciate your honesty and will take your feedback into consideration as we continue to improve our offerings. Thank you for giving us the opportunity to serve you, and we hope you have a wonderful journey ahead. Best regards, Amigos Patagonia Team

Well cared for and great history.

Rob_S, Feb 2024
I love history, so I truly enjoyed the restored fort and failed settlement at Magellan Park. Better still were the reconstructed ships. I really appreciated the care and assistance I received from my guide and driver, due my neuropathy. It was a great day with lots of great pictures and memories. My only complaint was dealing with the Viator website. I would have preferred a more human connection. I found difficult to navigate and the downloading of an unessary ticket, etc.

Best of Punta Arenas

bbw2891, Feb 2024
Gerardo was very knowledgeable and entertaining. My wife and I really enjoyed visiting Parque Estrecho, stopping for delicious empanadas, the Museo Nao Victoria, the "Secret" Chocolate Factory and Plaza de Armas. It was a fun, interesting and informative day.

Different but good day.

LuzM_V, Feb 2024
The guide Geraldo was very professional. My husband and I enjoy Punta Arenas a lot. I was not so sure about the cementery but it wa impresive.

Day tour in Punta Arenas with Johnny and Cristobol

Antoinette_P, Feb 2024
Johnny our guide was knowledgeable and gave lots of details about landmarks. The pace was great we didn’t stay too long or rush at stopping points. We enjoyed snacks, water and a tasty lunch. The tour hit all the important and interesting sights in Punta Arenas. Cristobol was a fantastic driver made the trip a comfortable ride. These two offered a great tour. if I could give 5+ stars I would.

A top-notch day tour of Punta Arenas and Fuerte Bulnes

Mark_S, Feb 2024
Gerardo was an excellent guide, clearly experienced, easy to understand and attentive to all our questions. He and his driver took us to see all the best sights around Punta Arenas and also a drive out to Fort Bulnes, which was quite interesting to visit and learn about its history. Our tour of the municipal cemetery was actually more interesting than I anticipated. We also really enjoyed exploring the life-size replicas of HMS Beagle and the old Spanish sailing ship during our visit to the Nao Victoria Museo. I highly recommend this tour.

Now and then tour of Patagonia

Thomas_E, Jan 2024
Very educational tour of Patagonia region. Stopping at the original fort to learn of the hardship endured by the earlier Europeans. Visited the beautiful city cemetery unlike any in the USA. Then touring replicas of the first ships to explore the Magellan Strait. Tour also included an excellent pizza lunch.

Great trip

Mike_K, Jan 2024
Very informative trip. Well worth your time. The guide was funny and knowledgeable. Better than than the cruise ship tour.

Excellent day in Punta Arenas

Gary_N, Jan 2024
Gerardo gave us a great day tour of the beautiful Punta Arenas area! He was wonderfully accommodating to the late arrival of our ship, easy to find, and had clean van for us and three other passengers. Felipe our driver was excellent & polite too. Gerardo is a wealth of information about the area and its history. We had nice hike at Ft Bulnes, seeing dolphins and whales! Stopped at a local empanada shop for fresh, tasty empanadas and wine. Toured the amazing ship replicas at Neo Victoria Museum. Saw flamingos in wetlands nearby. He stopped several times for photo opportunities. Led us around the main square with historical stories. Truly one of the best tour experiences we’ve had, thanks to Gerardo and his well run program. Highly recommended over the large group ship excursions!

Great tour of area! So much to see!

Ann_K, Dec 2023
Gerado was our guide and he was so nice and full of history information and introduced us to the local cuisine and people. Would say you will totally enjoy your time with him and the tour.

Response from Host, Feb 2024

Thank you for your kind words! We're delighted to hear that we made your experience memorable with his kindness, rich historical information, and introductions to local cuisine and people. It sounds like you had a fantastic time with us and the tour. Your recommendation is highly valued, and we appreciate the opportunity to have been a part of your journey. If you find yourself back in the area, we would love to welcome you for another wonderful adventure.

History of Chile

Liz_S, Mar 2023
Juan and the driver were knowledgeable and great to work with. Juan was fluent in English. We visited the fort and even saw a whale swimming by. Juan was well versed in the history of the area from past to present. We stopped by a little family owned restaurant where we sampled the empanadas made by proprietors of the restaurant. Viewed the local architecture, which was mid-century modern. We then went downtown to the look out area and got a panoramic view of the area. Lovely place to visit.
