Arien provided us a last-minute opportunity to see some incredible foliage, plants, animals, and vistas with their various histories and uses to the local area—all situated amidst a dozen or so statues of the ancient Taino gods and goddesses, providing a beautiful midday excursion. He also worked with us to ensure proper transportation to and from our hotel and provided some wonderful fruit at the tour’s conclusion. Also the souvenir stand had incredible wares that are off-the-beaten-path, and I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for a rather unique time in Puerto Plata!

Tropical valley tour

I’m not much for sight seeing, however I brought my mom and aunt along on this trip. And this particular tour was booked more for their enjoyment. From what I took, they really really enjoyed this tour. So many beautiful flowers, trees, and plants. It was nostalgic for them as they grew up in a similar country with similar tropical surroundings. They took tons and tons of photos, and I’m sure it is an experience they won’t forget.

Taking pictures of the statues, plants, flowers, trees, and fruits. The vegetation and scenery is very nice and peaceful. Enrique was our tour guide and he took some awesome pictures for us. So we had a tour guide and photographer. I had on good walking shoes, but forgot to bring mosquitoes repellent. Those mosquitoes seemed to like B+ blood haha. The mosquitoes didn’t like my wife. They provided bottle water at the beginning of the tour. The owner even provided a refreshing snack (banana, dragon fruit, sweet lemon, and orange) after the tour and chatted with us.
