    Wow isn't enough

    Jennifer_H, Mar 2026
Wow, this was an amazing day. We saw yellow-eyed penguins, sea lions, seals, and many many shore birds. Ben was a fun, great, kind, and knowledgeable guide and driver. He almost convinced me not to be calmer around the sea lions that were posturing with each other about 20 metres from us. The landscapes we drove through were stunning. Thank you to Rachel and the Clearwater family for sharing your little piece of paradise with us and kudos to you for working to give a safe place for so many threatened animals.

    Response from Host, Mar 2026

Hi Jennifer Thank you so much for sharing such an enthusiastic review. It is wonderful to hear that your private tour delivered such a memorable day. Seeing yellow eyed penguins, sea lions, fur seals and so many coastal birds all in one experience is always special, and we are delighted you enjoyed it as much as you did. Ben will be thrilled to hear your kind words. He brings a lot of heart to his guiding and it is lovely to know his knowledge, care and sense of fun helped make the day even better. Those sea lions can certainly put on a show when they are posturing, and it sounds like you witnessed a lively moment. Thank you as well for your kind acknowledgement of our family and the conservation work on our land. Protecting habitat for threatened species is something we care deeply about, and it means a lot when guests recognise the effort that goes into creating a safe place for them. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us and hope the rest of your travels are just as memorable. Rachel and The Clearwater Wildlife Team
