I had an incredible experience on the MONASTERY PRIVATE TOUR – Impressive Montenegrin Monasteries in Podgorica, and I can’t recommend it highly enough—especially with Tamara as a guide!
From start to finish, the tour was beautifully organized and deeply enriching. Visiting the stunning Ostrog Monastery was truly unforgettable. Built into the sheer rock face, it’s not only breathtaking visually but also incredibly moving spiritually. Tamara shared fascinating historical insights and local stories that brought the monastery’s past and significance to life.
We also explored Dajbabe Monastery, a hidden gem carved into a cave. The peaceful atmosphere and unique architecture made it a highlight of the day. Tamara’s knowledge of Montenegrin history, religion, and culture added so much depth to the experience.

It was a sunny morning and Ivan was right on time in a nice sedan to pick us up. It was our first time in Montenegro and we were keen to see the famous monasteries. Ivan didnt disappoint, we had such a fantastic trip, the monasteries were so beautiful and Ivan was very passionate about their history. The monasteries have such a rich history and have been looked after really well and preserved. Ivan also shared his insights about his countries history and he was completely unrushed. We also had a bit of a sit down by a lake to take a break from the tour and to talk about life in Montenegro. At the end of the day my friend and me thought that it was less of a tour and more of a trip with a friend, that’s how Ivan made us feel!!!

Overall this was an excellent tour. Communication before the tour was chaotic and I was concerned, but we were picked up as expected and from that point on, everything was even better than I had hoped. We saw Ostrog Monastery of course, but also 3 others we never would have know to visit on our own. And having Tamara as a tour guide was priceless—she shared information about the country, monasteries, society and culture and it was a very professional and well-run tour. I would not hesitate to use her again and highly recommend this tour.

The Private Monastery Tour of 5 Montenegrin Monasteries was fantastic. My tour guide Moawyah was also my driver. He was very friendly and very cautious driver. I learned a lot about the history of Christianity in Montenegro, and we were able to see in great detail the fabulous monasteries of Dajbabe, upper Ostrog and lower Ostrog monasteries, as well as the convent of Zdrebaonik, and then the modern but richly decorated Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ in Podgorica (Saborni Hram Hristovog).
I had a great day with Moawyah , who is a great conversationalist in many topics, which made the trip even more memorable.

We did the tour today with Moawiyah, he was terrific, very informative, kind, helpful to me (an old lady) was able to sweet talk the boom gates operators into letting us through due to my arthritic knee, (I have no cartilage between the bones) organised breaks and lunch.
We would definitely book with him again and also recommend him to family and friends.

Lidia was an excellent guide, she was kind, knowledgeable and helpful. She took us to several amazing Monasteries around Podgorica, and helped us to understand Montenegrin history and culture. Besides, she spoke very good Spanish.
We had a very good lunch in a wonderful place, with an amazing view.

Tamara is an excellent guide with an extensive knowledge of Montenegro. Most other tour operators only show you the Ostrog Monastery, Tamara's takes you to see three beautiful but very different monasteries - she does an excellent job of explaining their history. On top of that, she's just an incredibly kind and warm person - I highly recommend her as a tour guide in general and this tour in particular.

Booked and paid less than £50 for a private day tour, a really good value. Picked up on time. Car in good condition. Itinerary as in the description with a lunch break in the middle. Driver and guide Darko; very polite and attentive, speaks good English though there is still room for improvement. Overall satisfied.
