There’s no fee at the site of the Niagara Falls of Montenegro, but you’ll need to factor in the cost of getting there. Guided tours can be a good way to combine the falls with other attractions around the country on a one-day trip, with private tours from Podgorica costing roughly US$146.

Yes, the Niagara Falls outside of Podgorica are worth visiting if you like exploring waterfalls and gorges and have free time while visiting the capital. If you’re coming from farther away than the capital, it may not be worth setting out just to visit the falls, but combined with exploring Podgorica, the trip can be a good use of your time.

Yes, there is one restaurant by the river, just up from the falls. Serving typical Balkan cuisine, it has an outdoor terrace with views of the river and the top of the waterfall. You won’t get a great view of it, but the overall scenery is still quite pretty.

It depends. If you just come to see the waterfall, then you may only need 5–10 minutes there to appreciate the view. You may want to allow a little more time if you plan to follow the trails along the river or go swimming in one of the river pools upstream of the waterfall.

It’s generally best to visit the Niagara Falls of Montenegro in the late spring or early summer, from May to July, when the weather’s nice and there’s plenty of water. It’s not uncommon for the river and waterfalls to dry up by the end of summer, making them not really worth seeing.
