What a breathtaking day out up in the mountains . The views just outstanding .The monasteries themselves visually excellent and historical . Our guide was very knowledgeable not only about each monastery but provided info about local crops and the scenery. Stopped for lunch at a local restaurant which fed us well for just €15pp. There was plenty of time at each stop to look at surroundings as well. Just make sure you are well covered to enter the monastery, no bare legs or shoulders and heads covered.

The coach and driver were excellent but the guide did not give us enough time to see the sights especially the Kyykos part. Worst bit guide dropped us as we went in Omoron village so we had to find our own way back to the coach.

When entering the bus the everyone was sitting in the middle or back of the bus. No one was in the front seats but there was a purse there, usually meaning that the seat was already occupied, one would suppose by the tour guide who was outside. So everyone passed it by. When the bus filled up, the tour guide had to remove her purse to let the last people on sit there as there was nowhere else. So the last people on got the best seats. Where does that ever happen?
You will waste time a money at a ridiculously terrible restaurant in the middle of nowhere at lunchtime when you’re starving and there is nowhere else to go. The buffet food is beyond terrible. The lamb is joints of sheep. The chicken is old rooster legs (no white meat). We were gouged 15€ for this mess of pottage, and then another 4.5€ for one coffee. Then afterward we drove to a nice village with lots of restaurants that looked quite good. It was cold up on the mountain and the only fire was against the wall so it only heated in three directions instead of four. The bus driver sat on the table on one side before anyone else could sit there and had the good sense to order a panini (obviously having experienced the buffet that was highly recommended by the tour guide). The table on the other side had a “Reserved” sign on it so no one could sit there, though no one ever did sit there. So only one couple got to sit by the fire and stay warm. The desert was supposed to be something like baklava, but was some gooey dough that was terrible. the bananas offered were not ripe. The orange was good, so I’ll give them that.
Really, all we wanted to do was avoid renting a car and driving on the wrong side of the road, and see a few really nice and famous churches. That could have been done in an afternoon without a lot of time wasting. Although I will say that the time spent (30 minutes) at The Cypriot leader’s tomb was extraordinary and worth the trip all by itself.

Despite the heavy rain, we enjoyed our trip to the mountains. If you can get travel sick I recommend taking some precaution as the roads are very curvy.

From the on-time collection in the very comfortable minibus to the incredible knowledge provided by our guide during every part of the day, the trip was exceptional - we were amazed by the monasteries, the churches, the landscape, the small villages and the welcome in each. Our guide’s commentary was so helpful, making our choice to use Viator the right one… hiring your own vehicle and doing the same route would mean having to read up on each location in such detail prior to your arrival that it would take away the surprises on arrival. And also, the roads are so tight and full of bends in the mountains that the knowledge of the driver took all of the potential stress out of the mix. All in all, one of the best and most revealing trips we have ever taken.

Really informative tour guide, telling about flora and fauna, Cyprus history, monastery history, etc. She was quite scary about being back on the bus on time but it worked - everyone was always back at every stop so the tour ran to time. Great stop for a very good value lunch. Driver was very good as you'd expect, taking the mountain roads safely and sensibly. The bus was really smart and, of course, air conditioned. All in all, a great day out and good value compared to some of the prices quoted for similar trips.

Despite the inclement weather, the Troodos tour was well supported (54 persons) and very interesting. The mountain scenery was awesome, together with an excellent commentary by Alexandria throughout. Adamos was a very skilled driver but I did develop travel sickness and missed the buffet lunch. I would advise taking a warm jacket, wear comfortable shoes and pack a drink and snack as there were no available refreshments during the morning.
This was my second tour with Viator and it was excellent value for money.

The Tour is well organized, and punctual, with a lot of information about the history, nature, and religiosity of Cyprus, and accesses places in three provinces where public transport does not take you. Highly recommended. The tour was carried out on a bus with approximately 40-50 people, all in English, guided by Sofia - who has extensive knowledge about the country (and it shows). The number of places you can visit for the price makes it good value for money. There are 5 stops: Chrysoroyiatissa Monastery in Pano Panagia (~20 min), Makarios Tomb in Kykkos (~30 min), Kykkos Monastery (~1h), lunch at Stavros Restaurant in Pedoulas (30 euros for the all-you-can-eat buffet, or order cheaper à la carte options, value not included in the tour), and finally in Omodos, to visit the local monastery and shop in the small old town. We arrived in Paphos at sunset. Even for DIY fans, it's a good option, as it takes you around the Western Troodos practically and cheaply. We highly recommend it. (Tip: The seats on the left side have better views of the mountains and Paphos Forest)

Kykkos Monastery was the gem of the tour, learnt many interesting details about one of the wealthiest monastery of the world.
