Overview

After a safety briefing and practice using the snorkels in shallow water you'll swim to the spectacular blue cave to spot tropical fish, starfish, coral, and other sea life. Our guide, John, did an outstanding job during our trip. He was fluent in English and Japanese and accommodated for smaller children. He was very patient with the family that brought their kids without neglecting the rest of the group. He made family friendly Jokes and was energetic during the entire tour. Highly recommend and I will be booking more trips through them.

Wasn’t sure as the price was cheaper than others, but we had a great time. Well organised and such a cool guide/instructor made our 2 hour experience top notch. He filmed it all for a small fee and the quality was extraordinary. You’re about an hour actually snorkelling which is plenty for us. Loads to see and such a cool experience. Highly recommend.

The experience was great! The only thing I will say is that we didn’t get our full two hours that I booked it was cut short for whatever reason. They should be cautious of what the customer booked for and accommodate accordingly. And bring yen because there is extra fees you will have to pay for equipment, dressing room, and extra for more videos if you choose. Still very affordable! Our guide was very nice and friendly!

When I arrived I was told I was too old (63) You must be 59 or younger..... I am fit and a PADI advanced diver.... no refund 😕

For safety reasons, this snorkeling tour has a strict age limit of 3 to 59 years old, which is clearly stated on the Viator booking page before reservation. This policy is based on our insurance coverage and safety regulations, and we must apply it equally to all guests regardless of their fitness level or diving experience.
We understand that you are an experienced PADI diver and appreciate your enthusiasm. However, we are unable to make exceptions to the published participation requirements.

수영 하나도 못해도 됩니다. 선생님이 아예 끌고다녀주셔서 힘도 거의 안써도 되고요. 여러 나라에서 스노클링 스쿠버다이빙 해봤지만 이번 경험만큼 쉬운곳은 없었어요. 일본어팀이랑 영어팀이 나뉘는듯 한데 영어로 리드해주는 Aka 선생님 감사합니다. 스노클 고글도 너무 깨끗해서 좋았어요.

Clear direction of the meeting location with free parking. Clear instructions on where to change into wet suit, spacious number of changing rooms and they have gears even for my 4 year old. Love the warm water shower to rinse off sand and sea water after the snorkel. Guide took us to another beach with lots of fishes as the blue cave was restricted due to strong waves. English and mandarin speaking guide lady was very clear on how to use snorkel gears and also sprayed anti fog solution on all our goggles. Free photos provided and we top up jpy3000 for video recordings for our family. Highly recommended!

Even though we couldn't go to Blue cave due typhoon warnings, the alternative location was very fun and enjoyable. Our guide was really kind and helpful.

This was definitely a must do. We didn’t get to do the Blue Cave as it was high tide. So it took us to a different spot. It was still amazing! Guide was helpful and items were clean.

We got lucky after a week of bad weather! The water was beautiful and it was worth it just for the snorkel and wet suit rental alone. The guide was fine. The cave was unique. Feeding the fish was the best part in my opinion.

We needed a break from our osaka trip, coming to Okinawa was unplanned. Little did we know the whole week was going to be raining. We found this company by chance on google. I was lucky enough to be able to book them on the same day. We booked the blue cave snorkeling with pictures. Ame was our snorkeling guide. She was so warm and kind, and very patient. They gave you an option of either 1 video and many photos or less photos and many videos. My husband opt out for the diving excursion, he had an amazing time as well. Do not book this - they are very rude and unhelpful. We arrived at 11.03 for an 11am booking and were told we were late and couldn’t join. I’ve been running tours for a long time and would never treat a customer so badly.

We did the tour to the alternative location as the blue cave was closed - it was a shallow beach but still very pretty and with a good number of fish and clear waters. The activity was well organised, smooth and efficient. The snorkel guide was nice and spoke good English. You get photos for free and they take a good number both in and out of the water, but it is extra if you want videos (3000 yen). The locker, changing and shower facilities worked well and it was a nice hot shower. All in all a good well run activity and good value for money.

Amazing snorkeling tour — highly recommend. Our guide, Masashi, was outstanding: super friendly, knowledgeable about the fish and the area, and genuinely helpful the whole time, which made the experience feel easy, safe, and fun. The snorkeling itself was beautiful with plenty to see, and overall it was one of the best experiences of our trip — perfect for couples and groups I’d recommend it to anyone visiting.

We didn’t get to see blue cave due to the weather, it was high tide and closed. But the snorkeling was still amazing, we saw so many fish and had such a great time. Our guide was awesome, he had a go pro and we were able to capture all the fun!! Really happy with our experience :) & it was a great price compared to the hotel!

Feeding the fish was cool but our guide was literally so rude, made it seem like she was a drill sergeant. She obviously hates her job and wants to take it out on tourists. She was being really bossy and telling me to relax when putting my fins on, when I was relaxed? The waves were pushing me around. She was the first person here in Okinawa that treated us so poorly. You can tell she was miserable, and liked pushing people around. Also when we were getting out of the vehicle she was yelling, “ GO GO GO GO GO GO” rushing people out. The only nice thing about this tour was seeing and feeding the fish, but she was put a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe don’t work a job that you hate so much?? Literally the rudest guide I have ever had. She also got snarky with me for putting my fins on???? It’s not rocket science to put fins on. I have been swimming and snorkelling my whole life. Next time I definitely won’t do the guided experience and just go on my own… can’t remember her name cause that’s how irrelevant she is to me LOL

My husband and I had the experience of snorkeling with them. It was good, and the duration of the activity was perfect. Just so you know, they hardly speak any English, and you don’t go deep into the cave — you only enter the beginning part where they take a few photos, you take a look inside, and then leave. It’s worth it for the price.

We are over 59 years by a couple of years. We were able to book the Blue Cave Onna tour with Maldive through Viator without any visible disclosure that it is for 3 - 59 year olds only. It is hidden under a ‘read more’ note on the main page that you have to click and expand and read to near the bottom to see the tour has an age limit. Nothing when you read the visible parts of the front tour page, nor when you choose a date & time, and nothing again if you leave the tickets at the default 2 adults.. There is also nothing mentioned when you receive your confirmation email or tickets. What a dishonest setup Viator. Why don’t you highlight this on the main tour info page? To make it worse Viato,r in the terms expressly prohibit refunds if you book outside the age limit they haven’t properly disclosed. What an absolute scam. The tour operator Maldive simply said sorry we don’t make the website yet this is the only way you can book with them. No doubt not the first time Viator &’Maldive have collected money for nothing by not making their age condition clear.

This was a well organized experience and the photos we received at the end were worth the fee. Expect the water and cave to be crowded with divers snd snorkelers. Despite this, we enjoyed our time snd saw the most colorful fish.

Disappointing experience. My fit and active parents were excluded due to being over 59, yet another older participant was allowed — very inconsistent. The group was mostly total beginners, which made it frustrating as an experienced snorkeler wanting to actually explore. On top of that, the guide was rude and shouted at me multiple times, even though I was just nearby watching fish, not straying far. Not recommended for experienced snorkelers.

And this is guided tour with other people. If you want private tour please did it somewhere else.

This tour is slightly misadvertised. We did not get an English guide, and from parking lot to changing (including form signing and getting ready), it was less than 1.5 hours, not 2. I asked them about it after and the extra half hour is apparently to shower and receive photos (we decided to shower back at the air BNB and our guide sent me the pictures on line se we left after 1.5 hours). Probably about 45 minutes of water time. It didn't feel rushed, but we could have spent more time in the cave and it would have been nice to have an explanation of the fish we saw in English.
We went in the morning (7am) and it was a good choice -- there was almost no one there, the sun was bright but not too hot and there were lots of fish. The cave was cool but smaller than I expected. The guide was friendly and we got photos for free after.

Smooth and efficient operation, and the best snorkeling I’ve ever experienced in terms of clear water and number of fish. It was wavy on the day of my visit but I still felt very safe. The guide was fun and chatty, I could’ve done this twice on my trip.

Very nice experience. Blue Cave was closed due to high waves, so we just swam in the ocean. Would have been nice if it was less crowded -- kept "bumping into" people. Also, snorkeling with a life vest is a bit limiting. Overall a very good time though.
