Things to do in  Motobu-cho

Located in Ocean Expo Park on the edge of Okinawa’s Motobu Peninsula, Okinawa Churaumi Aquarium is known for its impressive recreations of the region’s underwater ecosystems. These include the colorful Coral Sea tank and Deep Sea World—containing around 100 creatures from the ocean’s lowest depths—and the Kuroshio Sea tank, which features whale sharks and manta rays born at the aquarium.

A sprawling seaside park on the coast of north Okinawa’s Motobu Peninsula, the Ocean Expo Park is a legacy site from the Expo ’75 World’s Fair. In keeping with the ocean theme of the fair, the park is best known for its marine attractions such as the Churaumi Aquarium, which for many is the star sight.
