If you are wanting to be immersed in nature and have the adventure of your life time you have to do this tour. Nikko Jumbo was so kind , accommodating, and efficient. He explained all the safety and what to expect so I felt so safe and excited. The canyon and nature was gorgeous by itself but his knowledge and expertise made the experience even more enriching! This was a dream come true. Make sure to bring a towel, swimsuit, and dry clothes for after!! You have to be somewhat willing to be adventurous and somewhat in shape, as long as you are careful you will be ok. Please book this, you won’t regret it.

My girlfriend and I are visiting Japan from the US. We're pretty outdoorsy but have never been canyoning before. We looked up fun outdoor excursions to do while staying in Nikko and Jumbos tours popped up and seemed like a fun time.
It was just us 2 and Jumbo and it was quite possibly our favorite tourist activity we have done anywhere that we've been. He is very positive and social, while also very proficient and safety oriented when it comes to communicating, knowledge of tge river and setting up rope systems. Touring with Jumbo seemed like hanging out with a friend. The river and the surrounding scenery are absolutely stunning. I found this much more fun and fulfilling than simply going to one of the big waterfalls and looking at it. Literally being in the waterfall and enjoying the nature was amazing. I would highly recommend the canyoning tour to adventurous people visiting Nikko. Especially if you find simply looking at a shrine or waterfall a little mundane. Why not get in it with Jumbo!

Even though it was your first time, you were jumping, rappelling, and smiling like pros—I honestly had to double check if you weren’t secret repeat customers 😆
And yeah, I totally agree—why just look at a waterfall when you can get in one, right?
There’s something magical about being in the river, feeling the water, and laughing like kids again. Those are the moments that stay with you.
For me too, that tour felt less like “guiding customers” and more like just hanging out with good friends in the wild. Super chill and super fun.
Next time, come join one of my SUP tours or even our snowy winter adventures—Japan’s nature has got so much more to show you in every season!
