Lovely experience. Our guide was so sweet and helpful. Nikko itself was absolutely beautiful. It was snowing there, which made it even more incredible. If you have an extra day, I would highly recommend doing this, as it also provides a great contrast with the hectic city.

What an absolutely lovely experience! The tour guide was on top of communicating with us weeks before our tour to ensure the itinerary he builds fits what we wanted to see. During the tour he was attentive and showed us so much! I would absolutely book another tour!

Overall a good tour. We think the service should offer pathways or suggested tour routes instead of leaving it up to the client. It was a little stressful to keep getting asked where we want to go and what we want to do—that’s what a guide is for. We had a great time and the guide was very knowledgeable. We would definitely recommend going to Nikko—it was a wonderful place and it wasn’t subject to over tourism like other areas.

Our guide Ichiro was excellent. He proactively reached out to provide us with several options for our day in Nikko. His knowledge and communication was so helpful for us to learn more about the shrines we visited and Japanese culture. We shared a meal with him at a wonderful in Nikko. The food and atmosphere represented an authentic experience of Nikko’s best. Ichiro made our visit an experience we won’t forget.

Wonderful, informative day with our Guide/English Teacher, Yukiko Tsunoda.
She was so thoughtful, bringing towels for our foot bath and ice packs to cool down from the heat.

We are a family of four from the UK and a lovely time on this tour. I would insist on asking for Yoko (our guide) again if we were I were in the region. She was super helpful before the tour helping us decide on an itinerary, providing suggestions, booking us lunch, helping with transport decisions etc. On the day of the tour Yoko was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable and helped us to enjoy an absolutely lovely day in Nikko (the whole area is gorgeous and we wish we had more time there). Our guide was called Hit Suzuki and we couldn’t have wished for anyone better. The whole experience was fantastic from start to finish and Hit had so many incredible stories to tell that helped bring the tour to life. I would highly recommend this to anyone who would like to spend a day in Nikko and learn more about the history of Japan and of this sacred place. The tour lasted six hours but Hit made it so interesting, that it could have gone on for another six! Thank you for a really special day!

Yuki was amazing. The tour was super customized and she was so communicative. Our train ended up being 45 min late and we still managed to fit in the entire tour because she knows the bus and train schedule so well. We would never NEVER seen so much of Nikkō in such a short amount of time without her guiding us and arranging all the travel. I couldn’t recommend this tour enough, especially in with Yuki as your guide.
She is also a teacher and since we had teens with us—she knew what they would likely find interesting and she knew how to connect what we were seeing in a way they appreciated. 5 stars. We would love to come back to Nikko again.

It was a great excursion to the Nikko Toshogu Shrine, the Kegon waterfall and the Shinkyo bridge and other sites. Our guide Yoko did a great job and we enjoyed ourselves immensely.

Yoshii- our tour guide, did a tremendous job of getting us ready for a very enjoyable and highly educational experience. This was our first visit to Japan and as any new traveler can attest, the logistics of getting around the complex train system can be overwhelming. However, even before we began the tour, Yoshii reached out to us to provide guidance in getting us from Tokyo to Nikko. That was a tremendous help!!!
The tour itself showcased the historical significance of Nikko and the beauty of the area. Yoshii is highly educated in this field and made our experience and truly memorable one!! This tour, particularly with Yoshii is Highly Recommended!!

Our tour with Yoshii in Nikko was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we met, he was warm, knowledgeable, and incredibly passionate about the area's rich history and natural beauty. Mia guided us on a fabulous tour of Nikko. She accommodated our group's sightseeing preferences and shared informative details about Japan's history along the way. Mia navigated the bus system like a pro and we didn't have to worry about how we would get from A to B. A highlight was a traditional Nikko-style lunch that the group enjoyed.

Yumi was an excellent guide, and throughout the tour, I felt her enthusiasm for the places in and around Nikko. I appreciate the work and effort that came through the planning of the itinerary. Since I was also collecting Goshuin (Temple Stamps), she also pointed out some interesting opportunities for some unique stamps that I probably would have missed if I had not had a guide. Despite being able to see a lot with Yumi, you really need more than a day to see much of Nikko. I'll need to come back again some day. I really enjoyed my time.

Yumi reached out to us months in advance to start customizing the tour to our preferences and arranging for the additional transportation needs. That she is remarkably friendly and welcoming was apparent through the early correspondence, but we came to appreciate her talent and skill as a tour guide during our day with her. After hours of her effortlessly sharing interesting and enlightening information that enriched our visit to not just Nikko specifically but Japan as well, Yumi also shared that she enjoys honing her guide skills and mastery of English (that is apparent as well). After traveling so far to experience another culture and gain some insight into its history, our experience would have been greatly diminished without experienced and dedicated guides like Yumi. Yumi - we cannot thank you enough for the wonderful and enlightening day in and around Nikko!

My friend and I had very good time with our guide Yoshii Kenichi visiting heritage sites of Niko. He was able to adjust to our level of curiosity, change plan to exclude what we already saw, timed trip well. We are also very grateful for the hiking trail advice for the next day.

We did this tour as a day trip from Tokyo. We took the train to Nikko, and booked a driver to drive our group of 4 and Yoshii, our guide. We would not recommend relying on the public bus in Nikko. Yoshii was great at helping make the most of our time and exploring the beautiful nature and wonderful culture in Nikko. He was knowledgeable and very friendly. We benefited from arriving on a weekday. Do not come on the weekend! - you’ll be waiting most of the day in lines and traffic.

Our tour guide Yoshii was informative and made sure we saw plenty of sites with the time alotted.
Tip: be aware public transport is used for tour. Make sure to have at least 10000 JPY. For all busses and entrance fees.
