After complimentary pickup from your Nice hotel, relax in a comfortable minivan for the trip along the Mediterranean Sea from France into Italy. Upon arrival, you'll have a couple of hours to browse for bargains and must-have items.
While the shopping in Nice is perfectly lovely, it's fun to hop across the border into neighboring Italy for a shopping spree in some of the colorful Italian markets of San Remo and Bordighera. These markets are known for their leather goods, fashionable clothing, luggage, household items, accessories, and souvenirs.
After shopping, you'll stop for lunch and a visit to Dolceacqua (own expense).
The minivan carries only eight passengers, meaning your small-group tour is limited in size, ensuring personalized attention from your English-speaking guide.

Wished we could have spent more time in San Remo. The cappuccino and tiramisu delicious. The drinks in Dolcedacqua were great next to the river. I would have never gone if it wasn’t for this side tour.

It’s a hike through the mountains so if you tend to get motion sickness, this may not be the tour for you.

This was a fantastic and very pleasurable outing. Nora, our guide, was the best! She was friendly and very knowledgeable. The market in San Remo was amazing - lots of deals. And Aquadolce was a beautiful medieval town. We had the best pasta ever there for lunch.
This was a True small group tour as advertised (3 guests), and we all received attention.
If you love Italy, markets and fabulous views of the Mediterranean, it's recommended!

This tour was not entirely what we expected- but it was still a good time nonetheless and it gave use the chance to "go to Italy' from France.
Expect a long day- if it is summer sunscreen, a hat and water are a MUST. This is more of a self guided/on your own tour- the guide does explain history on the way and you learn interesting facts- but then you are left to your own devices- which my husband and I loved. we especially enjoyed walking ourselves up to the castle in Dolceaqua.
The only reason I removed a star is the fact that we booked an English speaking tour- and instead were with individuals who spoke French (our guide was accommodating and explained things to us in English)....and our van had some mechanical issues. Overall this is a good value for the money.

We spent a lovely day in Italy with our wonderful guide Nora! Traveled from Nice with dear friends (four of us) and enjoyed every moment. Charming Nora gave us fascinating information about the Italian Riviera -- history, climate, commerce, food and wine -- and expertly drove us along the coast and into the mountains from Nice to Ventimiglia, Bordeghera, Dolceacqua, Menton and back again. Highly recommend this tour!!!

The towns are fantastic! Especially San Remo! I loved the town and the market. Menton was also lovely and worth visiting.
I really thought there was very little in Dolceacqua. We saw the old town, but very little was open. The restaurant in the square had delicious local wine, pasta and pizza. Very reasonably priced. We also had a very nice cappuccino. We spent the majority of our time there.
Others in our group went to the Italian restaurant on the side of the road as you come into town not on the square, they said it was the worst meal (no pizza and overcooked cold pasta) and they tried to over charge them.
Nicole was our tour guide. She was very informative and did a great job!

Nice your. We went to San Remo for about 2 hours then drove through some of the Italian towns along the border. Then we went to dulcovacqu which was nice to have lunch at. There are not many shops there so 2.5 hours is a little much. We then drove the scenic route to nice and were back at 4pm. Our driver said they often stop in Menton for 25 minutes - we did not do this bc our people have already been there. I emailed the company a few days before and asked about Menton since I saw it mentioned in some reviews and they said it does not go there so I went on my own. Tour should be explicit on whether it does or does not stop there. Good tour guide. You really see the true non touristy parts of Italy.

A very memorable drive to Italy to experience Italian culture. Plenty of time for shopping at the market and walking through 2 towns. Experiencing the views of the coastline during the drive back to France was amazing and well worth taking the tour.

Long way to go but not much to see. Don't think it was worth the cost of the tour. Robin the tour driver was fine with a lively personality and not his fault that the tour turn out to be disappointing.

It was a very informative tour .. didn’t love the market at san remo. Our tour guide was great only thing is when we asked if we can go back to get a magnet as we collect them he said no. Even though we came back Early to our hotel ! Other than that everything was ok.

We had a great time, our driver Nadir was so patient and well informed, we visited Bordighera, Dolseacqua and another town, we did this but I can’t remember the name, it was just awesome and great weather tour for the wonderful views of the towns, we didn’t care about the shopping much.

We so enjoyed our day. Rolf drove us through the foothills of the Alps sharing the area history, places & people of interest. We had great fun in both towns & the San Remo open markets were exquisite. Nice lunch in Dolceacqua 2 blocks off the square. The castle was amazing and Rolf shared a wealth of information. He did a great job. We highly recommend this tour

We enjoyed this day trip in Italy to two very nice towns San Remo and the quaint Dolceaqua. Our guide which was basically the driver of the van was a bit informative however spoke more about the economics than the beauty of the towns. Except when in Dolceaqua, there he did a good job. We recommend this tour partly because we like Italian culture, but more over because from Nice, its a day to see something different. And shop the markets!! Bellissimo!!

Was a spectacular tour. Beautiful countryside and the markets were fantastic. Our tour guide, Sandrine was the best. She was so knowledgeable and gave us so many facts and pieces of information. We had our 11 year old twins with us and they also enjoyed the day. Well worth the time.

The weather was awful that day, so our guide improvised throughout the day. The Markets were canceled that day, but we did make it to Italy and had a fabulous lunch and then some small village walking tours. The other couple with us had never been to Monaco, so we traveled there and they were able to see the casino in Monte Carlo and part of the country of Monaco. We didn't get to the markets, but had a great time anyway.
