I had a one-day private ride/guide experience to Nizwa and mountains. We left 8am from Muscat and beat the crowds at every step. Muhammed was an excellent guide through the day and the chosen locations were great — in old Nizwa markets and fort as well as in mountain sights. Next time I must take an extra day or two for a full hiking trip.

Quick response from tour operator and on time for pick-up. Our tour guide, Sameer was very knowledgeable and a very safe driver. Lunch was a little late but it was very worth it, we had food at one of the restaurants at Jabal Akhdar, seated outside with the cool mountain breeze. Would recommend!

Everything from start to the end was up to our expectations. Our tour guide Samir made sure that we were comfortable with the pace of the trip . He was very attentive and kind. All in all great day trip from Muscat with a great guide!

Nice day trip to Nizwa and the jebel, accessible only by 4×4 or SUV cars.
Pick up and drop off at hotel, friendly chatty and very agreable drive and guide, Khalid.
Lunch was a bit hectic ans not helped by the fact it is ramadan, but we did eat food in the end and tasty simple lunch.

As a solo traveler it was a challenge to find tours that were not private where the price doubled. This allowed me to join a smaller group and see Nizwa and Jabel Akhder and not be entirely alone. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a great time recomended for solo traveler

Overpriced trip: not at all worth it - felt stressful and rushed. Didn't enjoy it at all and jebel akhdar wasn't impressive - perhaps because it was via a tour group
The food at the restaurant wasn't the best/the driver orders the food for you so you have zero choice... more boiled rice than anything else.
Driver took lots of pictures of me and I'm not convinced he's deleted them from his photo album & only from his Google drive despite me asking numerous times. I could be wrong but he made no attempts to prove it
Driver wasn't the best at driving, it felt a bit aggressive at times
Driver was rude/made me uncomfortable. I fell asleep on the journey back and it was heavy rain/flood and the driver decided to pick on me for being asleep and it felt like he was telling me off. I felt bullied by him. Apparently he asked the others on the tour to wake me so I see the flood... I mean he was clearly passionate about me seeing the flood and continued picking on me/telling me off for being asleep for a long time even when I was clearly uncomfortable and some of the other tourists in the tour started to join in on picking on me. I felt uncomfortable because I was bullied by the driver and at times, by the other tourists. It didn't even feel like a holiday at that point.
Didn't like the group of people I was with. Judgemental and rude, especially when I wanted to look feminine with my makeup and clothes....
I personally think it would be better to do a private tour where it's at your own pace. There was an elderly couple on the tour who expressed shock they were old enough to be my parents... I think they were probably old enough to be my grandparents... did they think I was around 15-20 years older than I am? It didn't make me feel good on what was supposed to be a stress-free trip...

Tour was fine. Amazing scenery. However, it came with essentially no narration, history or background briefings. No soft drinks provided. Only a small bottle of water was offered. Lunch was fine, but not scenic or particularly interesting.

Tour portion in Nizwa was excellent. Interesting location and sights, lots to do and see. The 2nd portion in Jabel Akhder was a complete waste of time. Maybe it was the time of year I went? We spent 4 hours driving around to vistas with no view or walking in dry river beds with trash. Would not do this again and would instead find a full or half day tour focused on Nizwa only.

Our tour of Nizwa and Green Mountain in Oman with guide Suleiman was unforgettable. In Nizwa, Suleiman's close relationships with locals turned our visit into a unique, friendly experience, feeling more like walking with friends than tourists. Then, at Green Mountain, his knowledge of the best viewing spots and local agriculture provided stunning sights and deep insights. Suleiman's warm personality and expertise made our trip both enjoyable and educational.

I had a great time exploring Nizwa and the Green Mountains with Sameer, my tour guide. Everything was perfect and the lunch time in an Iranian restaurant was really delicious.

Guide (Ali) was on time, friendly, and informative. Vehicle was big, and very clean. Drive was smooth and uneventful. Nizwa market and fort were cool, and the green mountain made for spectacular views. worth the drive
