An amazing experience! I appreciated every moment I had with my driver. He picked us up early, and we weren’t able to eat something before we left the hotel, so he took it upon himself to get us some patties from a place called jucci patties in Jamaica. At the moment, I thought it was such a nice gesture for him to do that because, not many drivers would not go out of their way and do something like that. I really appreciated him. He spent the whole day with us going to each place the excursions included. He made sure we were okay, and in good hands. From YS falls he showed us the tour guide that would take care of us and the tour guide was 10000/100000. As soon as he toured us around YS falls he took my phone and got every angle. All my pictures came out amazing. The next stop was Black River Safari, it was amazing seeing alligators for the first time considering I’m from New York City so I have only seen them in movies. The guide we had for this excursion was great, he told us many new facts about the safari, the animals that live there and he taught us about the water and why it’s called Black River. We were the only ones in the boat so it was a lot of freedom of asking questions and getting to know the safari one on one. Lastly, was my personal favorite the Pelican bar. It was an incredible experience from taking a small boat to going to the Pelican bar which is in the middle of the ocean. It stands strong , and there was a photographer available for pictures to purchase. All in all, the excursion was incredible, the sights were amazing and the guide made me and my husband feel safe, and more knowledgeable leaving Jamacia knowing more.

This was an amazing tour worth the cost and travel. Firstly, it was private and our driver, Mark, was very personable enjoyable and he shared a lot of his culture with us. We were asking about Patties, local Jamaican food. He stopped and we each bought one, yum. We hit YS fall and it was very quiet. Ryan was our guide and took great pictures of us swimming and jumping off ropes. He was not overly friendly but we left before the crowds arrived. A definite must see. We stopped at a local roadside lunch spot where they use wood to slow roast their food. It was very tasty! Then off to a Black river safari. We were the only ones on our boat, our guide didn’t have a lot of animation in his works but smiled and had answers to all our questions. He called a crocodile over like a dog, quite funny. Our guide Mark was with us the whole time. Lastly, we took a boat to Pelican Bay Bar, a floating restaurant/bar. It was very cool and the beer was cold! The food looked amazing (fish was caught right there). It was a great day!!!

It was an amazing day filled with lots of information on the Jamaican history, culture, etc thanks to our wonderful guide Wayne that was so nice to us, caring and so funny.. He explained the history behind each activity we did and also while being in the car….The Black River was so beautiful and calming.. We got to see so many different kind of birds, trees and even crocodiles.. At the Cascade, we got to take beautiful pictures as well and we ended our tour at the Appleton Rum Estate .. We did the tour of the Estate with Danielle and she was amazing.. We learned a lot about how it all started and who is behind the Appleton blending, then she explained the entire chain how they extract the water from the sugar canes, to the molasses? Etc etc and then we ended the tour with the Signature tasting cause we wanted to pay extra to get to taste more exclusives rums and we are glad that we did. I really recommend this tour. My husband and I had an amazing day ☺️☺️

Marc was our tour guide and driver. He had such a great personality and was a wealth of knowledge on Jamaican history which made our drive to the various locations an absolute treat! We learned so much and also shared so many laughs along the way! We chose to stop at YS Falls, the Rum Tour, and the Pelican Bar. All fantastic choices! Marc was also kind enough to take us to a restaurant off-the-beaten-path to try some local food for lunch. Overall great experience! Would highly recommend!

We had an amazing time thanks to Wayne. He's such a funny guy! We didn't feel rushed at all and he was flexible with us. However, we did feel that the local tour guide at YS Falls was a bit rude and rush us along then demanded a tip. Overall, I would recommend this tour!

Wonderful day. Our driver Giovanni was an excellent driver around winding roads while imparting alot of local knowledge. Quick with a genuine smile and made sure we were comfortable. Appleton was great. Falls and black river safari good. Long drive from Montego Bay but worth it.
My only question was why a large van was used for only 2 people. A smaller vehicle would have been better.

Gervaine was excellent! We loved Appleton and Black River! The Black River guide, Captain C, was very knowledgeable. He brought the crocs right to the boat. I’d stay at Appleton for lunch next time. The factory is magnificent and so Joy, master taster, is inspiring.

The Black River cruise was good, YS Falls were great and the Rum Distillery tour was fun. The driver was a very good driver. The reason for 3 stars is it is over priced for what you get. Basically you pay for a very high priced taxi. You pay for each tour separately and the driver just drives you to each location. Not worth the price. Hire a taxi driver for much cheaper.

The guide was over an hour late picking us up. Other than that it was a fun and full day. The Appleton Estate tour was great. YS falls were pretty, although the water was a bit chilly. Pelican bar was an experience! In retrospect, I think we would have enjoyed the Black River Safari more than the YS falls, which was the option we didn’t choose. We also saw Bamboo avenue and the Zong Massacre Memorial. Our guide was good at pointing out local things along the way.

We really enjoyed the Black River Safari, and spent about an hour at YS Falls and enjoyed jumping and swimming in the falls. The Appleton Rum Tour was okay, worth a visit if you're not well versed in distilleries - but for us we didn't learn anything new about their process compared to other rum or whiskey tours we've been on. Also we found $39 to be very overpriced when you're touring with 22 other people, should be capped at 10 persons IMO and the tastings could have been much more generous. We had 1 welcome mixed drink, and 3 TINY samplings of 3 of their rums. Most importantly, I think it should be known that you're basically paying for a driver to take you to the 3 of 4 locations, not a tour guide. Our driver didn't give us any info during the hours long drives, except sometimes randomly letting us know that we're passing through "___" town name. In addition, although I understand that the tour lists "no lunch provided", I had read other reviews that the driver will stop by a local place for lunch which sounded great to us. That was never offered to us... not until after all 3 tours and it was 3:48pm... which is what, 8 hours from when they first picked us up?
Overall we enjoyed the sites we saw, but those are individual to those site experiences in my opinion, and not due to the booking of this tour.

The Rum Tour is a popular and loved tour for those who want to learn about the specific process with Jamaican Appleton Rum. If you've already been to several distilleries, then it is understandable if you didn't learn anything new since the process is generally the same as how to make rum. Regarding the samples, you can have more, you just have to ask :-)
Regarding your guide, as you can see in our other reviews, we pride ourselves in ensuring we are more than just a "driver." Our guides have many amazing reviews and love to share history and conversation with guests. Regarding the food, there is food at every location. Most people eat while they are at the different locations, majority of people enjoy eating at YS Falls. If you want to stop somewhere else, you can ask your guide, they are used to making multiple stops, that's the beauty of a private tour.
For those planning to take a private tour in the future, communicate with your driver about what you would like to do, ask questions, and don't be shy to ask if you would like to stop somewhere along the way! Remember, our goal is to help make amazing memories of your trip to our beautiful island.

Good trip although maybe a little too much travelling in one day on dodgy roads. Our guide Dale was excellent. He provided a fascinating insight into the island and the people and pointed out some interesting points and facts along the way. The Black River experience was really good, we saw 3 crocodiles and got to hold a baby one in the nursery. The YS falls were spectacular and we got some great pictures under the waterfall, although we would have liked more time here. The Rum making experience was also great.. really informative, funny guide who talked us through the whole rum process and we got to sample a few at the end. The journey home was 2 and a half hours around windy, pot holed roads that cast a shadow over the event as my wife isn’t the best traveller, it would have been nice to have been told it was this far away in advance. On the whole though a good trip made better by Dale’s input 😀

Our tour guide Charles (Charlito to us) was EVERYTHING, he was kind, funny, considerate, and ensured that our tour was the best! We did the YS Falls and Appleton Rum Estates (supposed to do Black River Safari but there was a storm and we were not upset at all). He provided knowledge of the island and the people of the island. We had street food (from the side of the road) and it was the BEST food ever! He took us to the Harley Davidson store and that meant a lot to me because of my dad (that was not on the tour) but was happy to oblige and take pics for us throughout...I would choose them over and over again! Husband & I had a great experience with YJTG. We stayed in Negril, and we had originally booked a tour to ochos ríos/dunn’s falls. The company contacted us well in advance to let us know that that travel was 3 hours one way, and gave us the option of booking this trip instead if we preferred something closer. We really appreciated this, and took them up on their offer. We chose to go to YS falls, Appleton rum estate, and pelican bar.
Our driver Adrian was early picking us up from our hotel and made sure we got around safely, giving us some background along the way. We stopped for a local spot for lunch that he recommended, which was both cheap and delicious (we got stewed pork and curry chicken). Ar was well-air conditioned, spacious, and spotless. Adrian even cleaned the floors while we were doing activities so it would be clean again when we got back. We would happily book with YJTG and Adrian again.
As far as the excursion items:
- YS falls: very organized set up and the falls are beautiful. the individual guides for each group (in this case, husband and I had our own) led us through the swimming areas, showing us where to step on the submerged rocks and how to use the rope swings, and taking plenty of photos for us without us even asking. We weren’t able to swim at the last set of falls due to the currents being too strong from recent rains, but we still enjoyed ourselves regardless. Of note, some of the waterfall areas are not recommended for non-swimmers, but there are other shallow swimming areas for children/non-swimmers.
- Appleton rum estate: to our surprise, this was actually our favorite of the 3. We knew absolutely nothing about rum and Appleton does a great job of walking you through the entire process, and you get to taste/participate in the steps. We enjoyed the rum to the point that we bought some Appleton rum at duty free later on, something we never do.
- Pelican bar: the only way to get there is by boat, which picked us up from Adrian and took us back later (after asking us for an approximate pick up time). we would’ve probably enjoyed pelican bar more if the weather was sunnier, as it’s a cool little bar in the middle of the water. There are drinks/food for sale, and the water around the bar is shallow enough to stand in.
Overall, we enjoyed this set of excursions and would recommend it to others!

The tour itself cannot even be offered on Mondays (when we booked) as two of the four attractions are closed. The company also won't offer an appropriate refund - I strongly do not recommend booking as they are unable to deliver the product that they advertise.

For this tour, you can choose 3 out of 4 attractions. Unfortunately, upon arrival, one of the attractions was closed. Of course, we were unaware of the closure and would never take a client to a location that we knew was closed. Because one location was closed, and two attractions were visited, we issued a 70% refund. Again, this was an unintentional error, and we did our best to rectify the situation. Our goal is to always provide the best service to our guests and ensure they have an amazing experience. Safe travels, and we hope you come back soon.

We just got back a few days ago and we highly recommend the tour. The Appleton Estate tour was very informative. Our tour guide lead us through from start to finish the process of making rum. At the end of the tour we then were given three samples of rum we learned what to look for for instance color, legs it leaves on the glass and the aging process. It also has a great gift shop. The safari was so much fun and interesting. Again the tour guide was top notch he was very informative and we had a couple alligators come to visit. On our third stop we went to Floyd's bar. WOW !! That was so much fun and we are in our 60's ! Very interesting. Even had our names carved on a wooden plank. We will always be at Floyd's bar. Lastly our drive was the best. He was very informative and went over and beyond what we expected.

Would highly recommend this tour, locals or tourists. In the very beginning our tour guy, Mr. Dale was punctual and pleasant. Conversation was easy going and he’s very accommodating. Allowed my partner and I to have a few stops along the way and I think those also added more splahh to the events of the days. Dale also assisted with our tickets/check in at every location and I thought that was really nice. Overall it was a very good transport.

Driving through the countryside was really great, seeing Villages along the way. The rum tour was impressive, although I might suggest it's best to saved for later in the day rather than 9 a.m. 😁. The crocodiles were was also quite amazing, traversing an entirely different ecosystem. The Pelican bar is one of those things that is worth doing once, a cool experience but I don't think I'd become a regular.

We did the YS Falls, Appleton Estate, and Black River. Adrian was our guide, and he was exceptional. His knowledge of everything, especially all the history, plant life, food, and agricultural, was fascinating and made for great conversation during the long drive South. He was helpful in explaining all of the sites we were seeing, and the sites themselves were all fun and interesting. We even made an extra stop at one of his favorite roadside cookeries and had some of the best food of our whole vacation. I highly, highly recommend booking a tour with this company, and especially want to thank Adrian for an amazing day!

We went to YS falls, black river and the pelican bar. Our driver Alrick was so nice. He drove us to an ATM cause the one in our hotel wasn’t working, he gave us tips and guided us as we were driving around, explained history facts, culture of the people and so on. I genuinely feel like I learned so much, he made this experience so so special for us. The car is very comfortable and spacious, just what you need for a day with lots of driving around, we also stopped for local food. Can’t recommend more!

We had a fantastic time with our excursion. This was very much in part to Cedrick our AWESOME guide. I do not know if you can request specific guides, but if you can, we cannot stress enough how Cedrick made this day wonderful. We wanted to try more food and experience more of the Jamaican foot and Cedrick made that happen. He helped us to try the non-resort side of Jamaica throughout the day. We tried great pattys, fruit, chicken, pork, and more! HIs outlook on life, great conversation, and general demeanor made everything top notch. We ended up doing the Appleton Rum Estate, Y.S. Falls, and the Pelican Bar on our day. All of the experiences were wonderful and there is not one that stands out above the rest. Driving around the southwest coast of Jamaica is something beautiful and lets you get a real feel for life on the island. Please understand that this is a full day trip and you will be driving for a couple of hours if you are coming from Negril or other areas. The vans were cozy and comfortable and as we cannot say enough, our guide Cedrick made the time fly by. All in all we would definitely use this service again the next time we are in Jamaica.
