Overview

Trip to Pamukkale and Hierapolis

Hi - a couple of points 1. They had too many passengers on the coach and took about an hour to decide who should get off and catch an alternative coach - delayed setting off from Marmaris 2. ⁠also meant that one of the two guides had to sit by me - all he did was go to sleep - put his seat into the passanger behind and coughing all the time 3. ⁠I don’t think the English of both tour guides was brilliant considering it was an English speaking tour (particularly the man) 4. The initial delay meant that we had less time than forecast at the destination 5. ⁠the coach driver was excellent 6. ⁠the breakfast didn’t live up to expectations - stale bread and no milk (just powder) in the hot drinks 7. ⁠the worse point was the lunch - we have been on tours all over the World over many years - this was by far the worst food - the salad was so old and was covered in flies. It really was inedible

Great Day Tour!

Lovely organised day tour to Pamukkale! Be sure to pack some snacks as it is quite a long day (12-13 hours). We were picked up promptly at 6.10 am and got back around 7pm - just in time for dinner. The tour includes a simple light breakfast (nothing fancy, so don’t expect too much!) which filled us up sufficiently, then on to Pamukkale - travertines, cleopatra’s pool and hierapolis. You get about 3 hours of free time so plenty to get around. There are some pit stops to shop/ factories but these were minimal and was a nice break from the road. I particularly appreciated the fact that they didn’t oblige you to purchase anything - we did bring home some lovely tea! Lunch was also included - this was more filling and buffet style. Make sure to bring cash as you will need to pay for entrance fees, they collect the money before arriving to make it efficient. Overall a fun day out, highly recommended.

Viel zu wenig Zeit in Pammukkale

Wir haben die Tour ab Icmeler mit Hotelabholung gebucht. Die klappte auch pűnktlich, allerdings war die mitgebuchte deutsch-sprachige Reiseleitung nicht vorhanden. Als Tagesausflug ist die Tour auch stressig, weil man für die Bin-und Rűckreise mit dem Bus ca. 6,5 Stunden einkalkulieren muss-der Aufenthalt in Pammukale beschränkt sich deshalb auf genau 3 Stunden. Das reicht nicht aus, wenn man auch noch das nahegelegene Amphitheater besuchen will. Außerdem hält der Bus noch bei einer Verkaufsshow mit Onyxsteinen und zum sehr spartanischen Frühstück, das nicht der Rede wert ist und zum Mittagessen mit Buffet. Alles in allem wird zuviel Zeit vertrödelt, obwohl Pammukale mit seinen weißen Terrassen wirklich sehenswert ist. Beim nächsten Mal wűrde ich lieber eine 2-Tagestour mit Űbernachtung in Pammukale wählen,, das ist deutlich entspannter.
