I booked this tour for my first morning in La Rochelle. I didn’t know much about the city, so my goal was to learn more about it and find out things to see and do. John was a fantastic guide and for 2 hours he brought me up to speed on the history of La Rochelle and the places of interest to visit and restaurants to try over my stay. I enjoyed this tour so much I booked a different tour with John for the following day.

You will not be disappointed, our guide was very knowledgeable about the history for La Rochelle, engaged the whole group. Love the idea of finding the hidden cat and the carmel treat. He made great recommendations for dining. We were traveling on a cruise ship, had less than 8 hours to spend in La Rochelle. Glad we did this tour to remember La Rochelle

I was the only one who had ordered this guiding, but John didn’t cancel. I met a nice and humoristic guide, with a lot of knowledge about beautiful La Rochelle! I had a very nice tour and learned a lot. John also gave good advices - I especially liked «la rue Restau». I can really recommend this guiding tour with the Irishman John!

Highly recommend that any visitor to this lovely city of La Rochelle book a tour with John. He explained the rich history and culture with an interesting and engaging storytelling style during our 2 hour, well paced stroll. John has a wealth of local knowledge and was happy to share tips and suggestions on things to do and experience during our stay, as well as giving many opportunities for us to ask questions. Due to John’s pleasant personality and informative anecdotes, this tour was extremely enjoyable.

John our guide was very knowledgeable about La Rochelle and kept the tour interesting and entertaining. We visited a lot of the city and with John's insight got see lots of places we would have missed on our own. Also gave us advice on local bars and restaurants and even took us to an amazing cheese shop when we had asked him where the best place to buy was. If you are going to La Rochelle I would highly recommend you do this tour.

We had limited time from a cruise ship so this tour with John was ideal ,a walk around the main sites of the port area. This was both informative and entertaining ,in such a beautiful part of France.
