The only way to get to Koh Lanta island is by boat and this one-way transfer ensures a stress-free trip. After being picked up from your hotel in Ao Nang or Krabi Town, transfer to Nopparat Thara pier, then cruise out to Koh Lanta on a ferry, where you will arrive at Saladan Pier. What To Expect

Travel between the Ao Nang area and Koh Lanta with ease on the Ao Nang Princess Ferry. Available during high season between November and May, pre-book your tickets to guarantee your preferred travel date.

You’ll be picked up from your Ao Nang, Krabi Town Ao Nam Mao, Klong Muang, or Tubkaek Beach hotel in the morning and driven to Nopparat Thara Pier. Show the ticket voucher on your phone to staff and board the ferry

Relax and admire the views during the 2-hour journey. You’ll arrive at Koh Lanta at Saladin Pier on north Koh Lanta Yai, and can catch a taxi (own expense) for your onward journey.

Super easy! The car picking us up was half an hour late but communication with Travel & Tour was great, very quick and assured us we would make the ferry (which we did, with time to spare). Option to book transport whilst on the ferry to the hotel for around 100THB. Ferry is a little worn and grubby but we weren’t particularly fussed for a two hour trip.

Good service - no complaints, the journey was smooth and everything pretty much self explanatory when boarding. Queued to get sticker for our ferry and then boarded .

Not the stress free experience it is sold to be!

This service is described as a stress free process to travel from AoNang to Koh Lanta. It started off with a pickup from our hotel to the pier. In theory this should have been super simple, 930am pick up for a 1030am ferry departure. Was told to message if the driver had not arrived by 930am. Guess what, no driver, messaged and told that the driver is probably another 20 minutes away because other passengers being picked up have been delayed. At no stage does it say this is a group transfer from your hotel to pier and I was pretty shocked considering how keen they were for me to message them if the driver was late that they hadn’t got in touch as soon as they knew there was a delay. If I’m honest, it felt like they didn’t care and that I shouldn’t be bothered that there was a delay! After the expected crazy of boarding the boat, the actual trip itself was very smooth, comfortable seats, decent air con and basic facilities. Of course it was crazy trying to leave the boat as you had to get your own luggage and it’s probably easy to imagine the lack of respect If you do decide to pre-book this ferry, my tips are: 1. Get your own transport to Nopparat Thara pier 2. Be aware there is a 10 THB entry fee per person to Koh Lanta, that’s ok, just have your money ready because when there are several hundred people trying to leave at once it’s a little manic. 3. Pre-book your transport to the hotel, there are as many taxi drivers trying to get a fare as there are passengers. We had pre-booked but it appeared to be a hectic experience to agree your transport I’d recommend the journey but would advise to get your own transport to the pier and buy your ferry ticket there.

I liked the ferry ride to Lanta Island. There was VIP zone for a few money and it consisted drinks and snacks and sundeck. Our transfer was a little bit late, but Viator answered to my question very fast and didn't worry anymore. I recommend this tour.

Great service from start to finish. We were picked up from our villa no hassle and taken to the boat - when boarding the boat I would deffo recommend the 200 THB PP for the (VIP) which gives you ability to go upstairs which is abit less crowded and better seats for us it was 100% worth it. Overall no problems and would use again.

Filthy. Smelly, but efficient

Well it gets you from A to B, but the only seating was downstairs. No ventilation. Smelly. Dirty seats. Mouldy life jackets. Thank goodness I didn't need the toilet. Can't imagine what that would of been like.

Enjoyed the ferry for Ao Nang to Koh Lanta. Boat left and arrived on time. Air conditioned seating area with very comfortable old airplane seats with generous leg room. Staff helped us with luggage, nice deck area outside.

Nice & simple

Pick up was a little late but they communicate well. Boat was nice and spacious. Upstairs is a little warmer than downstairs which has the AC blowing. We stopped at a bay to pick up more guests. Ride was comfortable. Disembarking is a bit of chaos. But once off, everything is right there. You have a dock fee once on island. Seems to be a thing in Thailand.

Nightmare!

My ferry time was 10:30am and my pick up time from the hotel was 9:30. Pick turned up at 10:20 and ferry was an hour and a half late. Had to climb over 3 boats to reach the ferry. Then we had to swap boats in the middle of the ocean!

Trip date 4.1.24. Due to leave harbour at 10.30am finally departed at 11.45am. In mid ocean the boats engines failed and we had to transfer to another ferry mid ocean! Very uncomfortable journey arriving 2 hours late!

Longer trip than expected but no information was given

The pick-up service is not a taxi but a shared bus. A bit uncomfortable if you bring luggade etc. The ferry itself was ok, but the trip took at least one hour longer than expected. Maybe because we stopped to pick up more passagers? But there were no information what so ever, so we had no idea why we were so late or what time we would arrive.

Smooth travel

Extremely smooth process. Pick up from my hotel was on time and I had ample help with my bag. On the boat there were options to book a taxi to get you to your hotel (at very reasonable rates) so that upon arrival you could easily get to your final destination in Koh Lanta. One of the smoothest journeys I’ve had on this trip!

Abholung vom Hotel hat gut geklappt. An der Fähre war man mit dem ausgedruckten Ticket überfordert. Aber es gab trotzdem kein Problem. Der Ausdruck wurde zur Kenntnis genommen und einbehalten, wir konnten an Bord gehen. Das Gepäck der zahlreichen Passagiere wird beim Verlassen der Fähre ziemlich unorganisiert ausgegeben, bzw. muss man schon selbst zusehen, dass man sein Gepäck bekommt. Zum Glück verhalten sich die meisten Passagiere vorbildlich. Am Pier muss man gleich eine Einreise Gebühr bezahlen. Die Fahrt vom Pier mit dem Sammeltaxi bzw. TukTuk zum Hotel ist überteuert. Besser wäre es wahrscheinlich, sich einen Abholtransport im Vorhinein zu organisieren.
