Great experience at Catalhoyuk

This is a must do experience in Konya. Before I came I didn't even know about it but I'm glad that I went. The digital museum is one of the best I have seen, a lot of thought was out into it and it was so detailed. It was easy to book the ticket and the tour bus experience was good. Our tour guide was helpful and spoke English well. I don't remember his name but it was on 22nd March.

Solo traveler. Legit service. I booked online and showed up to the ticket office a couple hours before the bus (1pm). They gave me a paper ticket and I returned a few minutes before the bus left. Very easy to find, it’s right across from the Mevlana Müzesi (Rumi mosque that you will see from a mile away). Got right on, got some basic guidance about the visit, and away we went. Very smooth, very professional. Entry to Çatalhöyük is only 5€ and can be paid when you get there. The two hours they stop is plenty of time to visit the site. I read almost everything in the museum, checked out the model houses, walked a full lap around the mounds, and then went to the excavation.

Wonderful trip to Catalhuyok, the tour company and bus ride were perfect. Easy to find, right near the Mevlani museum, with the bus clearly labelled. I was greeted by a rep from the tour company who gave me a quick introduction and welcome. The driver was great, very nice and a lovely calm driver! Everything went on time and the rep greeted us when we returned. There were only 3 of us on the bus so I've very glad it went! The site itself is incredible, I'd gladly go back for more time.

This bus service out to Catalhoyuk is fantastic value. It went on time and was really comfortable. The pickup location is also really central and easy to find. Once we got on the bus, the staff gave a brief overview of the site and what to expect in both Turkish and English, which was really helpful. They dropped us at Catalhoyuk and picked us up 2 hours later. We bought our ticket on site (5 euro for site and museum). The site itself is quite small but incredibly significant and well worth a visit. There is a new, interactive museum there too, which has lots of fascinating info about the history of the site and archeological processes. (There is also a toilet and Cafe.) My only regret was that they seemed to underplay the genetic evidence demonstrating it was a matrifocal, matrilineal society, as is also evidenced by the famous female fertility figures found on site. Apart from that, we really loved our visit here.

It was easy to find where the bus left. The drive to Catalhoyuk took about 40mins. We had 2hrs at the site, which was enough to see everything and have a coffee. The site is pretty amazing and gives a good overview of how the people lived.

Reading another review, I think the ‘tour’ is misunderstood. It is not a tour per se, but rather transportation to and from the site, a function it fulfills admirably.

If we call the service only as "shuttle" we face lots of questions from the visitors who wonders if there will be a guide or not. Due to the guidence service in the area compeleting our shuttle it becomes a full tour to Çatalhöyük area. Some of our visitors may expect a private tour, but it is more accurate to call it a group tour. Thanks for giving an opportunity and helping to clearify it. It was nice to host you in Konya.

The only thing the "tour" did was point to the shuttle bus in Konya. Nothing else. The tour promotion says English guide. They mean, " the signs are in English". The only thing they do is collect a few from you via this site. It was only 15$, but you only need to Google Catalhoyok shuttle bus.. don't waste your money with this tour.

As we decleared there is English guide service in Welcoming Center of the plant and our service includes the departure, return and 2 hours plant trip with group guiding. We are very sorry that it is impossible to provide special personal guide for each of our visitors for 15 USD/Euro. We and most of our visitors think that Çatalhöyük excavation area, sample village and the Welcoming Center which is one of the best virtual museums in the world are worth to see and our prices are so reasonable. We wish you to be fair but thank you for your comment.

Najprostszy sposób dotarcia do Çatalhöyük, jeśli podróżujesz samodzielnie. 2 godziny na miejscu to czas by dość dokładnie obejrzeć wszystko ale już raczej bez kawiarni. Muzeum jest świetnie przygotowane także nie trzeba dodatkowego przewodnika. The easiest way to get to Çatalhöyük if you're traveling by yourself. Two hours there is enough time to see everything in detail, but you'll probably miss the café. The museum is well-organized, so a guide is not necessary.

A mythical site

Çatal Üyük is a mythical archaeological site so all of us who love history get our hair on end just after entering there. The museum is supermodern, entertaining and very didactic. Viator makes your visit very easy and comfortable as the site is a little secluded, Viator is a highly recommended option.
