Great way to see the city on foot in an easy way. Far better than sitting in a taxi all day plus it included a bus and boat ride!
It was an absolutely fabulous day! My guide Manush ( sorry if this is spelled wrong!) was so knowledgeable and made the history come alive with his great stories. I learned so much and went places that were not on other tours. I highly recommend this tour!
A super unique tour involving cinematic storytelling! I’ve never been on a tour that involved seeing so many different parts of a city. There were taxis, buses, and ferries, it felt very encompassing!
Paulami is a fantastic guide, she brings so much local guidance and personality to the experience and really made it stand out.
I had a great time and I highly recommend!!
This tour is for those looking for a very VERY in-depth explanation on all things Kolkata. We did make it to a handful of sites however we found the stories and explanations to be extremely long-winded and frankly a bit boring. With that said, this was our own personal take on the tour. I’m sure others will love the long and detailed history lessons and explanations of Kolkata.
The other “red flag” of this tour was every time we got on a mode of transportation (taxi, tuk tuk) or sat down for food, we were expected to pay and the rates were high. An Uber across town would cost us INR 300 and a taxi INR 200 for a five minute ride… we paid more for this experience than anything in Kolkata. For perspective, total transportation cost for the four people on our tour was ~$10 USD and combined we paid $150 USD for the tour. We didn’t expect as it wasn’t disclaimed in the tour posting and after paying so much for the tour. Transportation should have been included.
Our guide Shrijit gave us an excellent tour of Kolkata. He took us all over the city including places tourists would not know to visit.
My husband grew up in the city and even he learned so much about the city’s history and its current issues.
We highly recommend this tour. One thing to note is that you will need to bring cash ideally in small notes as to get to each location you get cabs and tuk tuks and a ferry.
One of the best tours I have done. Highly recommend. Amazing guide. See an alternate side of Kolkata.
We were taken on a truly authentic, emotionally-moving, mentally insightful journey through the history of Kolkata. Our guide Shrijit has so much depth of knowledge of the city and knew the right way to deliver it to us, dramatically, invoking our senses, and in such a well-planned and well-timed manner. This is a must do with one of the best tour guides!
