This morning I took the Magic Hour tour with Soham. I am in my mid-sixties and have been visiting Kolkata since my early childhood but today, it was the first time that I walked across the Howrah Bridge; it was the first time that I took the ferry to cross the Hoogly River; it was the first time I visited Kumortuli and the Flower Matket but most magical moment was to witness the sunrise from Maidan. Thanks goes to our guide who was punctual, knowledgeable, warm and enthusiastic. I highly recommend this tour. Well done Soham.

A great introduction to Kolkata

I took this tour after arriving in Kolkata the night before, so it was the very first thing I did, and it was a fantastic introduction to the city. It was well worth the early start, and Soham's approach of sharing his own experience as a local is very effective. We covered a lot of ground, but the pace also allowed for several stops where we could pause and take in our surroundings. I combined this with Soham/Calcutta Capsule's other tours, and also stayed at his family's accommodation, which all worked really well together, but of course you can pick whatever works for you. In any case, I would highly recommend this tour.

Soham was energetic and knowledgeable and the tour was a great way to experience Kolkata in a relatively short amount of time. We covered an amazing amount of ground with I think four modes of transport, and visited many iconic areas of the city. Breakfast was the perfect way to round off the morning.

This has been the best tour we have been on thus far. It was a pleasure to get to know Soham and share in his passion for the city. This tour was a highlight of our entire trip in India. We were able to see the city from a perspective of a local who is clearly in love with his city and was able to make all of us fall in love with it as well. During out trip, we visited the famous Taj Mahal, but it is this tour that became the subject of our conversations with family and friends; it is the first thing we mention when we think of India and especially when we think of Calcutta. It brings back a beautiful memory and a smile to our faces. I would recommend this tour to anyone visiting Calcutta. A perfect beginning, middle or end of your stay.
