LOVE MANJIT! Would come back to see him every time. We learned so much, he answered our questions honestly and with humor, made us feel safe the whole time, etc. Can’t ask for anything more and can’t recommend this any more strongly!!!

    A Walk Back in Time

A really enjoyable early morning walk through amazing districts of Kolkata as the streets came to life. Our guide was friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about the districts. The local people were so friendly and were happy to be photographed. The colours, the architecture, the friendly faces and our guide made this a memorable experience which I would recommend to anyone.

    A history of the Calcutta

Manjit is an absolutely fantastic guide. He's a history buff and gave us a unique historical perspective. As an Indian I learned a surprising amount about Calcutta while viewing it in the flesh. Loved the varied old places of worship that hinted at the melting pot nature of the Empire's most unlikely capital city. The little food stalls on the way were an added bonus.

We loved getting to know the more intimate parts of Calcutta that we probably wouldn’t have visited by ourselves. The focus on the different communities and religions was definitely something we appreciated.

We had a wonderful time exploring a little visited part of Kolkata. India is such a fascinating place and this walk through a quiet part of Kolkata was so friendly and eye-opening. We totally recommend it, but not as a first tour of Kolkata. Do some a general tour first and then enjoy this quiet world.

Manjit offered a truly wonderful tour of one of Kolkata's most fascinating neighborhoods. He was very knowledgable and entertaining, and provided vivid histories of the development of the city and the different cultures and communities we saw on the tour. The tour was punctuated with some delicious food stops. Manjit is clearly a highly experienced tour guide and also has a strong love of photography, which he spreads through sharing tips and tricks and pointing out interesting subjects throughout the tour. I cannot recommend this tour enough!

This tour Shows the harmony of the cultural diversities in Kolkata which presents beautifully the uniqueness of the City. The tour is not for people who want to visit the famous tourist locations but rather for people who want to dive deep and explore the City to its core...the guide was friendly and interactive

Wonderful - Manjit is great - little bit culture, history, today, sweets and good jokes, and some world love.

    Extremely interesting and entertaining tour

    I_H, Jan 2023
It was an extremely interesting and varied tour. Manjit has very detailed knowledge of history, the various cultural influences and current social issues. We would be taken to places we would never have found on our own. And Manjit has a very entertaining manner. We had a lot of fun.

    Funniest walking tour ever!

    Saibal_S, Dec 2022
Manjit should charge more for his stand-up comic skills. He made the tour very entertaining and introduced us to the multi-cultural part of Kolkata in a very small area of the city that we covered - the Anglo-Indian community, the muslim quarters, the Jewish synagogue, the Zoroastrian temple, the Zen temple and everything in between. It was an easy walk, wisely done in the cooler early hours of the morning. Having been a fan and user of walking tours around the world, this turned out to be one of the best we ever had.

    A Taste of Kolkata

    davidmiller, Feb 2020
Mangi led a very personal and hugely interesting walk through the side streets of Kolkata. Our guide gave us the opportunity to meet the street traders, watch them make their breads, samosas, tees etc and to try them, safely. A wonderful experience.

    An excellant experience

Manjit was the best tour guide I have had in a long time. He is so knowledgeable and so communication savvy I bet you would love his tour. This is a must visit for anyone who wants to understand Kolkata better.
