Despite not having much time during my trip to India, I decided to take this one day trip to the Taj Mahal. From Kolkata there is a 2 hour flight and then a 3 hour drive down to Agra but the effort is well rewarded when you arrive on the site. It really is one of the key places in the world to see. Also the convenience of drivers and guides makes the trip so much easier. In fact I highly recommend using a guide like Rocky at the Taj Mahal as navigating the entrances, tickets, lines, shoe covers and key photo spots is important on top of the knowledgeable history explanations.
