Private tour with a driver/guide. Very flexible on what we wanted to see. Excellent lunch stop. Safe driving in hectic traffic. Would recommend.

We didn’t get to experience much like locals, which was disappointing since the guide was supposed to teach and show us more. Instead, we only visited two places—an herbal shop and a woodshop. We did spend some time at the woodshop, and I got to purchase some unique handmade items, which was nice. However, the guide was quite reckless, talking on the phone while driving, which was concerning. Despite all this, we managed to have some fun moments along the way!

Such a memorable experience, had a wonderful day! Started with a trip to the herb & spice garden, a location we would not have visited had it not been for this tour. Learnt about traditional medicines & could purchase handmade products to support the local community. Next we went to the tea factory, which as a British national we loved and purchased lots of fresh tea! Following this a trip to the gem museum to learn about the history of gem mining in Sri Lanka, super interesting. Lunch at local restaurant HoneyPot which catered for Sri Lankan and English dishes, overlooking the river. Lastly we climbed the giant Buddha & visited the city viewpoint to take photos of Kandy. A truly fantastic day & driver, would recommend!
