Itinerary

Receive a morning pickup from your private driver at your Bali accommodation. There are two options for this tour, East Bali or Ubud, with both stopping at Lempuyang Temple.

For option one, first head to Pura Lempuyang, a holy temple in the highlands. Then, continue to East Bali to visit the Tirta Gangga, a Balinese water palace built in 1948 by King Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. See the hidden waterfalls at Tukad Cepung and wander through the Karangasem rice terraces.

For option two, head to Ubud to visit the UNESCO-listed Tegalalang rice terraces followed by the Tegenungan Waterfalls. Shop for souvenirs at the Ubud Arts Handicraft village and then visit Lempuyang Temple in the afternoon.

Head back to your accommodations shortly afterward for a drop-off.

Worst Experience

Im Komang our driver was just a driver, did not give us any explanation regarding anything. He did not want to be there. He was not prepared and asked us to buy our own tickets although it was included in the tour package. There was soo much traffic he picked us up at 7:00am we did not reach till 10:30am. For the rice fields he asked us to get out of the car and take a quick picture. Our last stop was the Waterfall he told us it was closing at 5:00pm and we googled it and showed him that it was closing at 6:00pm. After dropping back at the end of the day he surprised and insisted that we pay him for returning late due to traffic and he started arguing with us. This was one of the worst trips we have taken with a Viator company.

Beauty beyond IG pictures.

The temple and surrounding village was beautiful. And the view of the volcano was breathtaking. The water temple was so awesome. The pictures posted on social media do give a little false impression, but seeing them in real life are a beauty in their own right. My driver and guide, Asta, was great and engaging! He explained everything and was so patient with this first timer.

Great Excursion With BEST Guide!

This excursion was so much more than I expected. I had a fabulous guide named Suparta (Wayan). He picked me up from my hotel right on time. And made the 2.5 trip to the Gates of Heaven trip go by so fast. I’m so curious about the Balinese culture and history, and he did a great job answering all of them. The sights and sounds along the journey were mesmerizing. Never got board looking out my window. The Gate of Heaven: It was a much easier process to get that iconic photo than anticipated. Wayan helped me through all the steps, brought me some coffee, and had good conversation during the wait for my turn. It is a little bit of a hike up a hill to get to entrance, but worth it. Rice Terrace: Beautiful Outlook! Water Palace: This was such a BEAUTIFUL place. The fish were huge and unbelievably hungry! Suparta was a very good and patient photographer. Waterfalls: This was a beautiful stop! Luckily I had my water sandals on, otherwise I don’t think I would have been able to walk along the falls. I also didn’t know to bring a swimsuit, but it was ok. The steps going up and down to the falls are steep, deep, ragged, and many without handrails. You definitely need to be of moderate fitness to be able to go down-up. But worth it! Amazing day! Amazing guide!

Bali trip to Lempuyang temple

The tour was great! Our guide Ardi was very knowledgeable in terms of explaining the Balinese traditions to us. He was very friendly as well. The 3 hour drive seemed to go by pretty well because of this. The tourist attractions that we visited were stunning. Must visit the coffee plantation on the way from Lempuyang temple. Thank you for the wonderful experience!
