Search out Jackson Hole's winter wildlife on a snowy safari through the National Elk Refuge and Grand Teton National Park. You'll be hot on the trail of thousands of deer, elk, moose, bighorn sheep, and bison that travel into the valley each winter, alongside a population of eagles, swans, coyotes, fox, and wolves. After a morning wildlife safari through the national park, hop a horse-drawn sleigh in the National Elk Refuge, gliding into the middle of North America's largest wild elk herd.

All guests are picked up and returned to their place of lodging. We pick up at hotels, condos and private residences in Jackson and Teton Village. Your exact pick up time will be determined by your hotel location. Make sure you notify us of your lodging location at the time of booking. The Jackson Hole Wildlife Safaris office will notify you of your exact pickup time prior to your departure. - The minimum age for wildlife safaris is 8 years old. (Private safaris have no age minimum.)
- Not wheelchair accessible
- Most travelers can participate
- For groups of 14 guests or less: We have a 48-hour cancellation policy for all single day safaris and a 14-day cancellation policy for all 2-3 day safaris. For multi-day safaris of 4 days or more, we have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a full refund with no penalty. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. For groups of 15 or more guests: We have a 30-day cancellation policy. Cancellations made before the policy goes into effect will receive a refund minus a 10% fee. Cancellations made within the cancellation policy period will not be refunded. We highly recommend obtaining travel insurance before your departure to protect you from incurring any costs associated with unforeseen circumstances that prevent you from joining us.

Our guide was fabulous. He was able to engage groggy teenagers and adults alike. He was very knowledgeable and had a fun way of addressing many levels of the "educated" members of our family. We really appreciated his depth of knowledge and humor.

We went with Jefferey for the day and boy did we have one of the best tours ever! He was beyond informative. He knew so much about the wildlife as well as the communities who lived in the area. There was never a dull moment, we saw on our journey Moose, Coyotes, Bison, Elk, Sheep, and even a bald eagle! It was a once in a lifetime experience. Our group is not the most active bunch and this was a perfect tour because you are escorted from site to site in a van big enough for a large party (8+ comfortably). Would recommend this tour for anyone looking to see the great outdoors that Jackson Hole has to offer and if given the chance, go with Jefferey (the most informed guide I have personally ever encountered).

Jeff was a great guide and very knowledgeable. We saw a lot of Moose and bison, along with some sheep and rams. We also got to see some amazing views and learn a lot about the area.

Our tour guide, Dave, was awesome. Very knowledgeable with almost 30 years of experience as a guide. We took the tour early in the season before the Elk had moved down to this area.(so no sleigh ride, but we knew that already) We saw a bunch of Moose, a grizzly bear that hung out eating right in front of us for 20 minutes. Our tour guide gave us lots of history about the area and took us to some scenery that pictures can’t do justice.

Wonderful tour - saw lots of wildlife, had a great lunch, and our guide was fabulous, entertaining, extremely knowledgable, and passionate. The only disappointment was that the sleigh ride was canceled without prior warning, despite there being plenty of snow still - and 8 hours was a long time to be largely confined to a van. If you can catch the tour when the sleigh rides are still available, I'd highly recommend.

My husband and I loved this tour! It was our first time in Jackson Hole, so we were excited to see the wildlife of the area. Our guide, Dave, took excellent care of us. There were snacks and drinks to enjoy throughout our tour, and he was great at sharing tons of history and trivia with us. We couldn't have asked for a better experience! The sleigh ride at the end was a fun way to see the National Elk Refuge. We would definitely recommend this trip to everyone who visits.

Jimmy was a most informative and pleasant guide for a wonderful day of touring. We saw one of the "big five": elk, buffalo, big horn sheep, eagles and moose with a spotting telescope. Sleigh ride as a highlight. Highly recommended tour!

We really enjoyed the Elk Refuge. Unfortunately we didn't see much wildlife otherwise. Our guide was great however. Didn't stop searching, it's wildlife so you can't just ensure they are in one spot. Don't be disappointed. Lunch was great! Really enjoyed the experience.

Thank you for your review. I'm sorry we couldn't find as much wildlife as we'd liked to have shown you. We have the best guides in the valley who have many many years of experience in the park, some with multiple decades. They know where to go, the best times to be there and signs to look for, but unfortunately, they're not a variable we can control and those days do occasionally happen. Please look us up next time you're in town as we'd love to make it up to you.
