Overview
On this small-group Grand Teton wildlife safari, join a local naturalist and guide for a ride in an open-air safari vehicle (seasonal) on dirt roads and on paved highways within Grand Teton National Park, where you scour the landscape at dawn or dusk for wolves, moose, and elk. Look for eagles soaring overhead or deer walking through the woods, and there’s even the chance you could spot a bear roaming near the road. In addition to helping find wildlife, your guide discusses the area’s ecology, history, geology, and culture, and also stops so you can take photos of the landscape, wildlife, or terrain.

From Teton Village near Jackson Hole, hop in a customized open-air vehicle (weather dependent), for a journey out on the rugged terrain of Grand Teton National Park. From the comfortable seat of your open-air vehicle, gaze up at the craggy summit of Grand Teton—the tallest mountain in the park—all the while feeling the wind in your hair as you journey out towards the woods. In the fall and winter, when the temperature drops, tours take place in a safari-style vehicle that’s enclosed for comfort and warmth.
During this Grand Teton wildlife tour, scour a part of the 310,000 acres that comprise the national park. Scan the landscape for the 60 species of mammals that live in the park, and keep an eye out overhead for over 300 species of birds. With binoculars provided by your local guide, try to spot elk, bears, bison, mule deer, moose, or wolves, and keep a lookout for ospreys, owls, hawks, and soaring bald eagles. You might even have a chance to see black and grizzly bears.
Aside from the wealth of wildlife, you also experience the Snake River scenery as backed by the jagged mountains, and your guide will explain the geology and ecology before returning to Teton Village.
Note: Summer tours run from June 15 to August 31, and fall/winter tours are September 1 to June 14. Hotel pickup in the Jackson Hole area is available upon request.

An amazing tour guide! It is very unfortunate that we don’t remember his name but he is ginger and has a great personality. He knew where to go for the perfect views and where there could be wildlife. He knew his history well and wildlife animals with ecological facts that were super interesting and cool for us to learn. He helped us and the other people in the tour take amazing group/family photos and had much patience with us in that. He drove fantastic and in a safe manner. The jokes and constant facts were great during the entire tour that kept us all attentive. Some of us would ask him questions and he would provide us with answers. We learned about “Fabio” and “Beave-zilla” that was super fun! Him taking pictures and videos of wildlife for us all, to then send it to us before we left was the cherry on top. My family and I enjoyed it so much than we expected to because of him!

Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind. We saw a moose, pronghorns and one was a 2-4 week old baby, crane, bison with a baby, a fox carrying about 5 mice, and a coyote pouncing for mice.

Our family really enjoyed our tour with Allie today. She shared a lot of
information about the local area, the wildlife, the mountains, and she was just very knowledgeable. Our tour was very cold, the weather changed and she was ready with warm blankets for all of us. She knew where to go to give us the best chance to see local wildlife and we had a great time. We saw a fox, 2 heard of elk, pronghorn, a black bear, several mule deer, and a heard of bison. Wish the weather would have been a bit warmer but we still had a very great time and enjoyed our tour with Allie.

Ted did an amazing job! He was incredibly knowledgeable and taught us so many things we didn’t know about the area, wildlife, and local history. Kevin was our guide for the evening. Not only was he knowledgeable about the park, but he knew a lot of history about the surrounding areas. We were able to see beavers, an eagle, herons, and a moose with her twin calves. He had a great scope and was able to air drop the pictures to us afterward. What a great experience!

My wife and I had an absolute blast on this tour. Our tour guide Phil has got to be one of the absolute best in the business. His knowledge of the Teto and Jackson area was amazing. The only thing that surpassed his knowledge was his ability to safely spot wildlife and get us into great safe positions to take pictures. His humor made the day fly by in the best way. I would easily book the same tour again and again to hear more of what Phil has to say!

Awesome tour with Marcus! I loved visiting peaceful Jackson Lake dock, seeing the Pronghorn and capturing the blue heron rookery was amazing! Also, he told great stories and taught us about the wildlife in the Tetons.

It was a wonderful tour. We saw moose, elk, pronghorn (a rare sighting, apparently), big horn sheep, blue herons nesting, and some other great birds. Jenny Lake was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen. It happened to be a perfect day for taking it all in. I was a little disappointed initially that we weren’t in the open air vehicle, but once we got going, I understood why. It was REALLY cold in the early morning hours. I was freezing, even in the van. Our guide, Kirsten, was exceptional. She was so knowledgeable about the area and the wildlife. It was obvious that she loves the outdoors and everything it offers in Jackson Hole. She was a perfect guide for us. Super friendly, kind, and just a joy to spend half a day with. This was well worth the price!! Just do it!! There’s a reason this company has such high ratings.

Phil was more than we could have ever expected in a tour guide. He REALLY out did himself. Not only did he find us fantastic wild life but he was HILARIOUS and incredibly knowledgeable. He was extremely sweet with our 6 year olds too. Super safe the whole experience. We wanted to add him to our family and take him back to Florida with us. If we could give him more than 5 stars we would.

This tour is well worth the money! We traveled in late September and were fortunate enough to see so many amazing animals. Our tour guide, Phil, was knowledgeable and very entertaining. He also helped us capture high-quality photos of the wildlife. Highly recommend booking with this company!

Our guide Kelsey was incredibly knowledgable. She also made sure we were safe and following state laws but also got us close to see all the wildlife. She even brought her scope alone and let us see even better. Then she sent us all the videos she took! Excellent experience 10/10 would do again.

Our guide Anthony did an amazing job showing our group around the beautiful Tetons. We saw a wolf (which is apparently super rare), bison, pronghorns and 5 moose! Anthony was full of knowledge and made the time pass quickly with all of his facts and knowledge of the animals and overall history of Grand Teton National park. I would highly suggest this tour if you’re looking for some awesome sights and knowledge of the park.

Animals viewed were often some distance away but the binoculars provided by the tour company were very effective. Was very happy tour guide found bears for us to see.

Amazing time. Our guide Cameron was fantastic. So knowledgeable and capable. He was able to find us great wildlife and make sure that everyone was able to view it (especially our binocular challenged 8 year old). Cameron kept us entertained with great stories about the area to pass the time between animal sightings. Highly recommend this trip and outfitter.
