Itinerary

Get an early start on the day with 3am pickup at your hotel in Hurghada, then take advantage of the 280-mile (450-km) trip to Cairo to get some extra sleep along the way.

Upon arrival in the city, a private guide will join you for a tour of the Pyramids of Giza. The structure that dominates the site is the Great Pyramid, or Khufu’s Pyramid, one of the Wonders of the Ancient World. Walk around the base of each of the three main pyramids, and learn what’s known, and what remains a mystery, about their history and construction. Continue to the Great Sphinx, the oldest monumental statue in Egypt, then visit the Valley Temple, a mortuary temple carved from massive blocks of pink Aswan granite, with smooth, alabaster floors.

Pause for lunch in a restaurant by the pyramids or at the edge of the Nile, then head across the river to the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, which contains the world’s largest collection of pharaonic antiquities. Explore exhibits of ancient art, mummies, and artifacts, including the remarkable treasures that were buried with King Tutankhamun more than 3,500 years ago.

Following your time at the Egyptian Antiquities Museum, begin the return trip to Hurghada, where this tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel.

Incredible trip to Cairo

Matt_B, Nov 2024
This tour exceeded our expectations, I'll start by thanking our awesome drive Ali, he collected us from our hotel in a private vehicle and drove us all the way to Cairo and back with only a few stops, a real legend! When we arrived in Cairo we met our tour guide Amr, who was amazing! Amr was really knowledgeable and taught us a lot and help guide us through the museum, avoiding the crowds and helping us get the most out of our time there. Following this we went for lunch which was tasty then it was on to the pyramids. Amr again taught us a lot about the pyramids and was on hand to take pictures for us. Amr didn't rush us and let us make the most of our day, he was a really nice guy and it was a pleasure to meet him! Overall this is a long day, we started at 02:00 but were back by 21:30, it is totally worthwhile, the pyramids and ancient artifacts were a real bucket list experience. 10/10 would recommend, thanks again Ali and Amr!!

Long day, but worth it; great tour guide

A long day of travel but definitely worth it. We were picked up on time and without issue at 2am -because we were travelling from Sahl Hasheesh - before meeting our wonderful guide, Yasser, at the Egyptian Museum. We grabbed a quick coffee to acquaint ourselves before diving into some wonderful history. Yasser was extremely knowledgeable and friendly, he explained things in a clear and memorable way. Having a private guide was so useful because we could navigate through the throngs of other visitors quickly and easily while also being able to hear what Yasser was saying about all the interesting artefacts. I noticed that larger groups did not have this luxury. After the museum we enjoyed a well-earned lunch at a buffet-style restaurant before heading off to what I would say was the highlight of the tour: the pyramids. Totally awe-inspiring. Again, Yasser was on hand to tell the interesting story behind the pyramids while also acting as expert photographer to ensure that my wife and I both went home with some magnificent photos to make our friends envious.

Long, hot but totally worth it!

The drive from Hurghada is about 6 hours but with the private transfer we slept easily following a 3am pick up. We felt safe throughout the entire trip and our driver was great. The tour was amazing and our guide Ahmed Zakaria was happy to change timings to suit the heat and the needs of our two children. Please be aware that this tour only includes entry to the pyramids site, if you want to go inside any pyramid, to see the boat or on a camel ride then you have to pay extra. Lunch was good although disappointing the air conditioning wasn't switched on, it was much needed after the heat of the morning. Would highly recommend the tour but be prepared to be wiped out the day after with such a long journey there and back!
