It's a long day, but it's worth it. The temples of Dendera and Abydos do not pay for mines seen from the outside, but what wonders once you enter them. The paintings and engravings are as numerous as they are wonderful. Note that these temples are located, certainly in the Nile Valley, but north of Luxor, and therefore not on the route of the classic cruises between Luxor and Aswan. There is therefore no other possibility, to visit them, than a day trip, unlike Karnak, the Temple of Hashemput and the Valley of the Kings which are systematically included in the programs of cruises on the Nile. The guide gave a lot of explanations and an appreciable free time afterwards for a more personal discovery of the place. I found myself alone on this tour yet reserved for a group fare and thanks to the agency for maintaining the tour for myself. As a solo traveler, I often face last minute cancellations in these kinds of circumstances, so really thank you for allowing me to complete the tour alone. The meal is hearty and tasty in a very authentic little restaurant in the village around Abydos. Professional and punctual care. The driver could hardly speak English, so it was difficult to communicate during the trip which seemed very long.
