Well organized and a fun journey The scenery following the the coast was a gem. To cap it there was an entertainment carriage complete with two singers decorated Vietnamese style with cuisine and beverages for sale. The train stops half way to allow a stretch and photo session. The diesel love dates back to 1968. A great experience

Beautiful scenery. However, one side of the train is substantially better than the other. When we booked, that was not mentioned and there was no way to select seats. Unfortunately, we were seated on the inferior side.
I booked two tickets for the Heritage Hai Van Pass train well in advance to make sure we got window seats. Despite reserving a month early, the intermediary assigned us two seats far from the window and even separated from each other.
We ended up paying almost twice the official price without receiving any additional service. The intermediary later justified this by saying that other passengers had booked up to two months earlier, but the result is that—even with our early reservation—we were given the worst seats available (including seats blocked by pillars).
A disappointing experience: I strongly advise against using this service. Buying the tickets on your own is definitely more convenient and reliable.

During peak periods, the Heritage Hai Van Pass train can become fully booked very early, and seat availability is unfortunately controlled by the railway system. While we always try our best to secure the best available seats for our guests, we understand that this does not make the experience any less frustrating when the seats are separated or affected by pillars.

We almost missed the train due the station not being able to find the tickets we purchased through Viator.
The train ran late making us late for our return journey.
1 st half of the trip had beautiful views, the 2nd is less spectacular.
Staff on the train were great

This is a company who books your ticket for you. The views are beautiful if you’re on the right side of the train. Otherwise it can be hard to see because people will close the curtains and sleep. It has one long stop in the middle.

The train was spacious and clean. The views were beautiful. There was a csr that had singing performances and hot food you could purchase.
2.5 hours was a comfortable length of of time.

Although maybe a slightly long at 3 and a half hours the scenery was spectacular. Don't make the mistake we made thinking it was a return journey.
That said our tour operator secured us a shuttle bus to get us home at reasonable cost.
Would not suggest. I had tried on several occasions the two months previous to contact the tour company via Viator, WhatsApp and email and I received no answer. It was only a few days before the train ride that I got a message from the tour company to say that the time of the train changed.

Train is quite slow and waiting time is sometimes too long in some stops while waiting for opposite train to pass
I expected some commentary or something as it was a sightseeing train but it was just a regular train trip. Had the weather been clearer the views would have been great though - so I would still say this was a good way to get from Danang to Hue.
Very beautiful train drive between Hue and Da Nang. Easy to take. Good confirmation from local provider.
