Amazing experience, learnt so much not just about the Vietnam war but the countries involvement in conflict over the last 100 years along with wider Vietnamese culture. 10/10 recommend.

The route is well designed and considerate, with experienced organisation. For me I think every part of the trip is exciting. Our guide Thuan is knowledgable, so we've learnt a lot about the history and interesting details. Nice driver and travellers also.

Great guide who explained alot about the war and areas we visited. Definitely do this tour. A fab day.
Gregory_M, Apr 2026
A little longer than advertised, and unless you have some historical interest in Khe Sanh airbase, that stop alone took 4 hours - 3 of them driving. There is also not much there to see. But our guide Hoa was excellent. Great knowledge of the politics and history of the DMZ and interesting perspective to pull them all together.

It’s really good lots of history about the American war and the north vietemise and the south visiting the DMZ zone and the tunnels was brilliant

I had a great experience. Tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. Would recommend this tour to a friend if they are into history.

This is a very good trip especially for those who like to know what was happening in the War, I hear about this war a lot when I was young, later watched some movies about this war. I really wanted to see in my eyes, that is the the reason I joined this tour. Our guide is so good, very knowledgeable, I really enjoy to know this piece of history from different perspectives. I recommend it.

Excellent day trip and our guide was superb. Be prepared to spend a lot of time in the minibus though.

Lots of driving as the locations are far apart. The guide was very informative but missed key parts out
Thomas_T, Mar 2026
This was a great tour. However, someone was very sick in the group and constantly coughed. Now I am sick. Tour operator should have sent that person home. Otherwise this would be a 10.

Everything went according to plan, the guide was very knowledgeable and made the experience very pleasant, recommended experience.

As a retired US History teacher, I really appreciated the mini-lectures tour guide gave in very good English about the history of the IndoChina Wars. Caves were excellent too.

This was an amazing full day tour to visit and explore the main locations relevant to the DMZ zone.
Thuan our guide explained the relevant history of the South and North and the many countries involved in relation to the establishment of the zone and how it became a key area in relation to the indochina wars.
A visit to the main US airbase located in the zone was fascinating.
Just travelling across the mejestic mountains in that region with some stops for coffee and lunch was itself a great experience as well.

What a fantastic day with Thuan who is a brilliant tour guide very knowledgeable and speaks clear and extremely good English so nothing was lost. This tour is 2/3 hours away from Hue so don’t go if you’re not wanting to travel such a long time. But believe me it’s worth it. Thaun cleverly broke the journey up by explaining the back story to the war in a very honest and concise manner. At the various stop offs she gave really valuable insight. Lunch was excellent on a type of home stay and they catered very well for my allergies. All in all a terrific day which we thoroughly enjoyed.

Good tour, unfortunately the first half to Khe Sanh was cancelled due to bad weather, we were lucky to get back to Hue due to flooding.
In hindsight, the tour should have been cancelled as we felt rushed to get back to Hue as the water was rising rapidly and some roads were flooded.
Our guide Ton, was very informative and kept us updated on what was happening.

If you are interested in war history you can't miss this tour. Linh, the tour guide, is very knowledgeable and gives all the details to understand what you see. Very recommended!

I love history & our beautiful guide had a world of knowledge she new so much not just about the war but about the whole country as well I really learnt so much more from her & our driver was cool to.

If you’re a Vietnam War you must experience this tour. I had a great time conversing with our guide Nam. He was very friendly and a wealth of information about the war and the places that we visited. I think Khe Shan was my favorite. You could almost feel the bullets flying and the bombs bursting.

We were really excited for the tour, it was going to be the highlight at half-time of our trip. We are both really interested in history and of course we've read lots about Vietnam. But we had no doubt that this tour would add significant insights that, as Europeans, we couldn't just read up on. Sadly, the tour was rather superficial: it started great with an intro to the chronology of the 1st and 2nd Indochina Wars. But it didn't really get any more thorough than that. The places we visited didn't really add much to our knowledge. The objects at the museums weren't explained to us and they didn't have any helpful commentary on the signs. We were given 20-30 min to explore the museums and memorials ourselves but of course we didn't have the knowledge to really make the most of it. We were especially hoping to hear more about the human side of the story. Dates, battle plans and pictures are easy to look up nowadays, but stories about life during the resistance, war and the aftermath would have been an invaluable addition. Hearing the Vietnamese perspective on modern history was one of the reasons why we'd come here to begin with.
Especially when touring the tunnels, which were obviously interesting in themselves, more background information about life down there would have helped. Even in the tunnels, the tone was kept light and chatty and superficial. In general, the narrative was always positive: Losses were symbols of bravery, victories were never against any enemy, just all very rosy and positive. Extra questions about history, modern understanding of the past, the maintenance of the memorial sites weren't really answered (which might have been a language issue, though).
The rides were so lengthy (between 60-70% of the trip) and could have been used for further explanations too. Our guide chatted to the participants in the front of the car, but there was no official tour-stuff going on.
In general, our guide was friendly and well prepared. Beyond the official speaking segments, he wasn't that approachable though. Questions were answered in a friendly but very quick manner. At the sites and at lunch, he and two of his colleagues (?) sat at a separate table, having Vietnamese food and speaking Vietnamese to each other while we had pretty boring rice and tofu/pork.
One last point: the roads are rough and the driving is even rougher. We've gotten used to not having seat belts, but one of us was sitting at the very back, facing the aisle. So at any sharp brake, we would have gone flying down the aisle, through the wind shield? We rearranged the seats ourselves to feel safer.
Altogether, we were just disappointed because our expectations were high after reading all the positive reviews.

It's a complete day travelling to places where Vietnam war was so present. It alliws you understand some of the facts of that history
Danielle_M, Jul 2025
As an American I was eager to learn more about the history and I felt the tour did just that. It is a lot of driving so be aware of that, but the sites played important roles and they keep the car nice and chilled between each site. Guide had excellent English and historical knowledge
Alexander_d, Jul 2025
Hoa was so knowledgeable and helpful and spoke excellent English. I already knew a lot about the history of the war and Vietnam, but I learned so much from her. It was especially fascinating to learn about her family's role in the war.
Douglas_E, Mar 2025
A very interesting and memorable tour! We feel very fortunate to have had Hoa as our guide. Not only was her knowledge of Vietnam's history clearly evident, we were also impressed with the passion with which she shared her thoughtful insights and interpretations. We also appreciated the professional manner in which she guided us through the multi-stop itinerary, with time limits clearly set out. Her helpful commentary before, after, and during each stop greatly enriched our experience. And the lunch provided was excellent!
Thank you, Hoa!

Hoa (Flowers) was our guide and she was amazing. Very informative, spoke great english and was easy to understand. She told is the stories over the car journey and let us explore the sights in our own time. Lunch was included. It’s a long day of driving but the sights are worth it if you’re interested in the history of Vietnam. The tunnels were wet and slippery as it rained for a few days when we went. I would recommend wearing comfortable shoes and clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.

Great experience with the wonderful Quo as our guide. She was very informative on the history of Vietnam. We really enjoyed our day
Geronimo_P, Dec 2024
Hoa was an awesome guide, and our driver (protection) as well. Granting us historical perspectives from all the sides. She could be a radio speaker ❤️
Seonaid_T, Oct 2024
Interesting tour of a forgotten DMZ and alternative tunnels.
Our guide was knowledgeable and answered our questions.
We were gifted a commemorative water bottle which was a nice touch.
Only negative was the lunch, just not to my taste
John_M, Sep 2024
A lot of driving but efficient to see these sites in 1 day if you have interest in the American war.
Van used is OK. full trip so all the seats were taken. if there were more seats open in the van would have been more comfortable.
Fed lunch which wasn't hot enough. otherwise no problems. 75% of the day is in the van.
Linette_E, Aug 2024
Brilliant day trip with Hoa. She has taught us so much about the history of Vietnam, both north and South and all of their struggles. Amazing trip through the countryside, the time just flew and the bus was comfy. Lunch at a passionfruit farm, what could be better.
Evangelia_X, Aug 2024
Α very educational and exciting tour, a little off the beaten since most people visit the Cu Chi Tunnels but not the Vinh Moc. The guide (I think his name is spelled Nhoc) is very knowledgeable, also he's a calm person with great attitude who tries to make everything clear and asks us if we understand everything or have any question. It's a long long tour so be prepared but you see, touch, and experience things and situations that are absolutely worthy!
