Itinerary
Your tour starts as you depart Ho Chi Minh City by private vehicle for the drive northwest of the city to the Cu Chi Tunnels, a 155-mile (250-km) network of underground channels that were used for living, cooking, storage, field hospitals, command center, and weapons factory for the Viet Cong during the Vietnam War, also known as the American War in Vietnam.
The tunnels were initially built for the fight against the French in the 1940s but were expanded in the 1960s, becoming a multistory underground city with hiding spots and trap doors. When you arrive, your visit starts with a short video documentary; then you have time to explore the Ben Dinh section of the tunnels. Learn about the history of the tunnels and the ingenuity of their inhabitants, and crawl through them yourself if you want. You also have the option to fire rounds from an assault rifle at the shooting range (own expense).
Your tour ends with a tasting of traditional boiled tapioca and hot tea before the drive back to Ho Chi Minh City.

We had a wonderful tour guide—Han, she was most knowledgeable and informative of the tunnels and the countryside, She was most gracious to adjust our start time for the tour so that we could be back on time to meet a shuttle to our ship. The van was cool and comfortable Would highly recommended this tour

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Cu Chi tunnels. Our guide, Tam, was very knowledgeable and experienced and answered all our questions (and has a great sense of humour)! He looked after us well and tailored our tour perfectly to suit our group (my parents in their 70s and me). He helped my mother feel comfortable about going through the tunnels and she is glad she did! We highly recommend this tour, thank you Tam!

I would highly recommend taking this tour with Mr. Cuong. What made this tour incredible was the knowledge that Cuong had to share with us about Vietnam's history, the local history and the history of the Cu Chi Tunnels. His honesty and great personality made our half day tour enjoyable and memorable. Cuong was on time picking us at our hotel and did everything to make our tour easy and effortless. Cuong has left a lasting impression on me and my wife, if there is anyone to take this tour with while in Ho Chi Minh, Cuong from Gingko Voyage is the one to do it with.

Definitely recommend you do this trip in a small group as it's very busy at the tunnels with coach party's etc and being just the 2 of us made it easier to see the sights quicker we saw various weapons from the Vietnam war and even shot an AK-47 rifle the tunnels were definitely built for the smaller person but I did manage to get through 20 meters of the 100 meters you could go through. I bottled it after that but it's definitely an experience I'll never forget our guide was great this is a must do trip

This was one of the highlights of our trip thanks to our great guide.

The tour was very interesting and was extremely informative with a great tour guide called Jack. The collection from our hotel was prompt in a comfortable vehicle with air con which was much appreciated on a hot day. Jack was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the tunnels and also Vietnam and provided lots of interesting facts regarding the tunnels. I would highly recommend this trip as it was good value for money and is a very worthwhile place to visit when in Vietnam, its a must do trip ! Many thanks to Jack for making this such an enjoyable day and trip.

Take this tour and step back into the the world of the Viet Congo and the tunnels that they lived in and fought from. If you are staying in Ho Chi Minh and do any tour outside the city you have to do this one. The Cu Chi tunnels take around 1 and a half hours to get to purely because the traffic within the city is absolutely crazy, when you get there you see everything from all the different types of trap to how they made rice paper and cooked.
Our son fired rounds on an AK 47 and an M1 and was in heaven, actually winning a baseball cap for hitting a target. Each round cost between 40 and 50,000 vend, so if shooting is your thing this is well worthwhile.
You can crawl through a tunnel and come out at 20, 40, 60 or 100m, there are no lights but a local guide accompanies you with a torch, again make sure that you give it a try.
Our trip was in great comfort in a large Toyota four wheel drive vehicle and Ben our guide was really good, his English was excellent as well as his local knowledge.
Make sure you do this tour it is well worth it.

The half-day tour was more then I had expected. I was greeted promptly at my hotel by my tour guide Xung and our driver...also with the name Xung. The ride outside of the city was fun with views of the countryside and rubber tree farms. Xung and I connected immediately. He was fun and polite and knowledgeable. We were more like friends going on this tour. I am a single guy and booked the single private tour. It was so inexpensive and well worth the personal connection of felt with Xung. The tunnels span a larger section then I had expected and crawling in the tunnels was a thrill of a lifetime. So much history and so much loss in these jungles, but today I hope we all can remember the loss and respect the struggle. I completely enjoyed this tour and would HIGHLY recommend Viator to book your reservation. Thank you all so much for memories I'll keep for a lifetime.

The Cu Chi Tunnels Tour was probably the highlight of our trip to Ho Chi Minh City. Roughly an hour away from the main city, the Chu Chi Tunnels are an exciting part of the history of Vietnam, especially one of the important remnants of the war era. Our tour guide, Truk, was highly engaging throughout the tour. He told us stories about the war that were interesting and was humorous on many accounts. He also guided us throughout the Cu Chi Tunnels and took us to the right places at the right time, given the crowd at the site.

Fantastic experience, the giuide, Roy, was extremely knowledgable and kept us both informed and entertained. A must do visit.

A couple of friends and I, while visiting Saigon, signed up for a private tour of the Cu Chi Tunnels through Viator.com. We had a great experience learning about the tunnel system and about the Vietnam-U.S. war from a non-U.S. perspective. I highly recommend doing the private tour rather than the big bus tour. For just a slight increase in price, you get a more personalized experience and you are able to go through the experience at your own pace. You are not secluded and it is not like you are the only ones here, but you just have a guide catering more toward what you will enjoy and at your pace. It would be ok for younger children to do this it's not gory or vulgar in any way, though I doubt that they would understand what is going on so it would be lost on them. If you choose to actually go down into the tunnels and crawl through them a bit, I would strongly recommend considering how your small child will respond to the tunnels. They are lit, but not well. They are hot. They are small and claustrophobia inducing. Very cool experience, just know what you're getting into.

Such a fascinating piece of history, very well maintained and put together. Would recommend bringing extra cash for the shooting range. We had a fantastic tour guide, great English and very knowledgeable. He also recommended other places to visit in Vietnam that are off the beaten track.
