I really wanted to like this tour / experience. The itinerary looked very compelling, but the reality of the experience was very underwhelming across basically all the planned activities.
The transport was fine, and the bus was comfortable enough. They said that the ride time can vary quite a bit depending on the ferry timing, but it wasn’t too bad in our case.
When we arrived at Monkey Island, we left the bus and walked down a park road for ~15 minutes where we saw and interacted with the monkeys along the walk. The monkeys were fun and it seemed like a good start to the activity as we walked to the main Monkey Island activity… until you realize that this 15 minute walk was the ENTIRE Monkey Island experience. What I thought was the transition to the “main event” with some spontaneous monkey interaction was actually the headline activity for the entire tour. No destination, no monkey habitat, no organized activity or demonstration, no park staff explaining anything about the monkeys. You literally feed them while you walk and that’s that for Monkey Island.
The crocodile farm was equally underwhelming. The “Farm” is a maybe 20m pier that overlooks a handful of crocs. You can pay 20k to feed them off a fishing pole. This second headline activity also lasted maybe 15 minutes.
The longest portion of the tour is the VC base which you can either walk to or take a boat ride to. The base has some huts and mannequins and wooden walkways, and there is a 26 minute video that I’m still not sure the point of, other than to perhaps show younger people what a video made in the 90s looks like. Worth noting that this is not an actual preserved VC base but rather a reconstruction made purely for tourists. This could not have felt like more of a tacked on, time filler activity.
The last stop (ex. lunch) is to a seafood market which the itinerary shows as a 2 hour stop. Must be extensive right? No, it is one aisle with a handful of vendors, and the stop actually lasted maybe 20 minutes but most were back in the bus after around 10-15. The lunch was what you’d expect from a tour-included lunch.
I really was looking forward to a nature-oriented escape from the city environment, but instead got a few check-the-box activities that couldn’t have been lower effort. Really disappointing tour. I highly recommend seeking another option if you are looking for a nature-focused experience.

A great day trip to Monkey Island. Aaron was a great tour guide for a private tour. He respected our schedule and what we enjoyed. The flexibility was awesome. His ability to also guide us with the monkeys and keep away the more aggressive ones while letting us hand feed the more playful and babies was perfect. A great huge meal for lunch as well.

If you want to make the most out of this trip, make sure to bring clothes you don't mind getting dirty as there are points where the monkeys will crawl all over you if you let them. Awesome experience with Anna.

Our family had such a great time! We started off on a rocky beginning, as right after we’re picked up with the VIP tour group limousine, my grandpa realized he forgot his cellphone at our hotel. David, our tour guide, was so helpful and kind! He went out of his way to help contact our hotel front desk to locate my grandpa’s phone and hold onto it. He communicated with our driver to turn around and go get it. We were so GRATEFUL. My grandpa was relieved, as his life and well-being was on that phone. The tour itself was so educational and a total experience! Meeting and feeding the monkeys were so enjoyable for myself and my son! It was a little nerve wracking at first, considering they can be mischievous and mean, but David was there the entire time keeping watch and making sure the monkeys didn’t get out of hand. Lots of historical information was shared about the war and about Vietnam in general. We came during Tet holiday, so there was a little extra surcharge ontop of paying for the tour, but that’s okay. It wasn’t a problem for us. It was only equivalent to about $9-10 USD per person. There were four of us. After visiting monkeys, seeing some crocodiles, and touring a site where the Viet Cong soldiers had their base, we went to go eat. The food provided was delicious! It was a little outdoor restaurant with Vietnamese cuisine and some really good iced oolong tea. So refreshing!
But the main reason for writing a 5-star review is the accommodating service provided; it wasn’t necessary, but it was greatly appreciated. At the end of the tour, when everyone was dropped back off to their hotels, my son had forgotten his JBL Headphones. I contacted David after hours and he immediately contacted the driver, aa well as Victor, the tour operator. They KINDLY had my son’s headphones sent to our hotel via Grab, and even paid for it. We of course paid them back by giving VND to our reception and paid more than just a reimbursement fee. They’d grab the funds at a later date considering it’s Tet week. But overall, such wonderful staff provided, amazing service and accommodations. Highly recommend! Thank you again David, Victor and our driver- (I don’t remember his name).

An enjoyable day out of the city visiting the famous monkey island. The monkeys were cool and we got the chance to feed them. The crocodile part was disappointing with just a few mins looking at a few crocs from a safe vantage point. It was also good to have an element around the history of the area and the war. I would recommend it

Amazing day trip ! The agency took care of everything and was very well organised. The activities were so fun and varied, we also learned a lot about Vietnam’s history and culture. The whole experience was amazing. Big shoutout to our guide, Thắm, who was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the whole tour. She taught us a lot about Vietnamese culture and gave us clear instructions regarding the local biosphere and fauna. The monkeys are indeed mischievous, but the guards do a great job at keeping the guests safe. The crocodile part was a little scary but interesting nonetheless. The lunch at the local resort was delicious and the seafood market was also very nice. Lastly, the little trip to the local fishermen’s community and the visit to their whale sanctuary was culturally significant and enriching. The transport was smooth and the bus was equipped with A/C (very much needed). Highly recommended!

A whole lot of fun. It was great being up close with the monkeys and so many of them. Learnt a lot about the Viet Cong fighting in the marsh groves during the Vietnam war. Very interesting.
