The interest places thru out the route were fascinating. Worth to hop off a couple of times to see the city.

Was sick not. Able to use it. Party may try to see if you will let us use it today Appreciate your consideration

Response from Host, Nov 2025

Hi, being sick is no reason for a negative review. Of course you can use your tickets on a different day

No red busses to be found

Elizabeth_T, Oct 2025
Do not sign up for this tour. We walked all over and never found the double decker red bus. The other company with HOHO was everywhere with their red and yellow busses. We wasted the money we spent and never got on a bus.

This is a quick way to learn about a new city. Clean and dry travel with audio available in multiple languages.

A beautiful day in Hamburg

assana_z, Sep 2025
Very nice, good to know Hamburg. Beautiful landscape, it was very good there was an English version of the commentaries. Love it.

One afternoon to spend in Hamburg

Mark_T, Sep 2025
A bit confusing on where to pickup bus but once onboard we got a good overview of Hamburg -- took it once around Line A route. Driver was very helpful on getting us back to our hotel

Worst Experience!

Debi_W, Aug 2025
From the cruise port we had to pay 25.00 to GET to the pickup point. When we got there most of the earbuds did not work. There was a lot of bleed over from other languages, added to that was the loud speaker was speaking in German. The driver was about the most rude and unhelpful person there ever was. When told about the bleed over, he replied…. Then get off!, which about 3/4 of the riders did! NOT a good experience.. I doubt that I will ever travel to Hamburg again

Terrible experience

Colin_L, Aug 2025
Appalling! Don't use this company!! Bus has German commentary, very loud, on amplification, throughout the tour, so loud that you can't hear the translated commentary in the headphones. Also the driver occasionally gives his own commentary, in German, so no tourist can understand anything he says. This tour is a complete waste of money! Find another company!!

Would skip the tour of buildings

Christine_M, Aug 2025
The tour bus was fine. Narration was good. The bus was over crowded not much too see in Hamburg except buildings.

Meant only for German speaking audience

Nagarajan_C, Aug 2025
This tour is for German speaking audience only. The driver and the speaker system on the bus all shout in German, it's virtually impossible to hear on anything in your own language. Even though most of the reviews mention this issue they haven't done nothing about it which shows what's their real interests. are. I wouldn't recommend it at all.

There’s a stop right at...

Rosalie_S, Aug 2025
There’s a stop right at the cruise port. The driver spoke both German and English. Mutiple languages on the audio tour guide

Good tour at a reasonable price.

Dean_C, Jun 2025
This hop on hop off service was reasonably priced and the buses stuck to the schedule. There was some confusion as to where the bus would actually stop to pick us up, but a driver from a different Line provided great details. In addition, it is difficult to hear the English narration over the German narration that is broadcast throughout the bus. As German was one of the languages offered through the earphones, I’m not sure it was even required to be broadcast over the bus speakers.

A great introduction to Hamburg

Ralph_B, Jun 2025
The tour is of the old city and the harbor/warehouse are of Hamburg. The narration is a pre-recorded script in all languages other than German.

Unfortunately due to...

Corinne_L, Jun 2025
Unfortunately due to construction the bus didn't go by some stops so we had to walk a Vermont way to the next one. The bus also stops running mid afternoon. I would find alternate transportation next time.

Protesters shut the busses down

michael_a, Jun 2025
$15 per person to get from cruise terminal to a hoho stop got off just a few stops later ate shopped waited 1 1/2 for hoho to come back but it shut down really early because of protesters we seen nothing really had to spend $30 on a cab to get back to cruise ship

Take a local bus instead.

Bobbie_J, Jun 2025
I rarely ever leave a bad review. This hop on hop off bus tour was terrible for so many reasons. 1- the busses were hot with no AC on an 80° day in June. 2- Two of the stops we went to were closed. 1 stop had a note, the other didn’t. 3- instead of having everyone use the earphones to listen in their target language, they had the German version blaring over the speakers making it extremely hard to hear through the earphones. I’ve taken ar least a dozen hop on hop off buses all over the world, but I would not recommend this activity in Hamburg, Germany.

Overall, the experience...

Lynda_D, May 2025
Overall, the experience was great. However, it was hard to understand the commentary because they had a commentary blasting out loud while we were trying to hear it in our own language.

Bus ride that never happened

kirsten_s, Mar 2025
It took a long time for the right bus to come to the stop we were waiting at once it did a few guests exited and the doors immediately closed. I walked up to the door as the bus started driving off. I banged on the door but the driver did not stop. We were unable to use these tickets that we purchased. Very disappointed.

Disappointed compared with other cities

CThirsk, Mar 2025
We hoping that the hop on hop off bus would stop by the cruise Terminal but we had the cruise line shuttle into Hamburg to use this service. Considering there were 5000 people onboard, is this not a missed opportunity? The bus we'd booked (lineA) was so late that I had to ring the company to make sure it was still running. Eventually it turned up albeit about 25 minutes late. Due to time constraints caused by local transport strikes, we decided to stay on the bus all the way round. Not to be unfortunately. We were about a third of the way round when the driver said he was taking a 25 minute break. We couldn't risk missing the ship so we "hopped" off and walked back to where we started. All in all not a great experience.

Must do if spending a day in Hamburg!

James_G, Jan 2025
Amazing way to see the city in a short period of time! Would recommend to anyone, especially if you are stopping in Hamburg for a day on a cruise.

Great idea on a drizzly day

Tina_B, Dec 2024
Like most hop on hop off good way to see around and choose where to get off. Headphones worked well and informative. Only issue was the foggy windows on a wet snd cold day. Take a cloth to de fog occasionally!

Wish we spoke german.

trevnitaly, Oct 2024
It was a great experience overall. Unfortunately we missed out on alot of information since the driver spoke only german and he said way more than the narrative translation.

Too many languages overlapping

Harry_P, Oct 2024
Comfortable seats. BUT what is the point of headphones for international tourists and at the same time the guide going over loud in German and ALSO other automatic recording of a German lady overall ?!?!

Very rude driver and attendants

marian_n, Sep 2024
This was the most terrible experience, driver and attendants were very rude There’s a long wait at bus stops

Very efficient and good commentary!

Connie_R, Sep 2024
Was the most efficient Hop On Hop Off company with best commentary out of 3 other rides on our trip. The volume was a little loud on the speakers in German, hard to hear English on the headphones, but otherwise it was great!

Great!

Linda_U, Sep 2024
We rode the bus the entire circuit and listened to the audio descriptions. We had no trouble hearing it as long as you "mentally" turn off the German language narrations, as we understand very little German. It was a great start to our city visit in Hamburg.

Excellent way to see the cit.

Ian_M, Jul 2024
The hop on and hop off bus is an excellent way to see Hamburg you can get off at the stops and explore at your leisure and then rejoin the bus and carry on with the city tour the commentary is excellent what ever country you are visiting from you can learn a lot about the city it’s very interesting I would definitely recommend visitor's take the hop on hop off bus it’s a great day out as your ticket lasts all day.

Excellent way to get around and visit Hamburg!

Guy_S, Jul 2024
Twenty stops, you pick and chose which sites you want to visit. What's not to like? I found this to be a great way to visit Hamburg at my pace. I rode the bus through the entire loop twice, getting off at sites that interested me and resting my knees on the bus during the stops I chose to pass on. Riding the bus gave me an opportunity to take in Hamburg and plan stops for some great photos as well. Some drivers were humorous and others added to the history of each area. I waited no more than 10 - 15 minutes at most for another bus to come by which was perfect. Sitting on the upper deck with the roof open and taking in the sites with a nice breeze keeping my cool just made the tour so much more enjoyable.
