On-time pickup by the driver to the location for the main event. It was good to witness an authentic Dervish ceremony. I wished there was some introduction prior to the ceremony/dance. I received more information from the driver who took me there than the program itself. Overall, it was an honor to get to observe the ceremony at the original caravanserai.

Unique Cultural Experience

A unique cultural experience for those visiting Cappadocia. The setting in an old monastery is what made this worthwhile. It would not have been the same had it been in some ordinary venue. A few things to know before deciding if you should go…1) It is 20 + minute drive outside Goereme. 2) You sit on benches with no back, but it is just an hour, so it was fine. 3) You get a brochure explaining what the Dervishes are doing, but unless you get there early enough to read it, you have no understanding of what and why they are doing what they do. I would suggest doing some reading before you arrive in Cappadocia. This would have made the experience more meaningful. 4) The WORST part was the driver, who drove exceedingly fast , upwards of 90 + mph. The pickup time was too close to the start of the show and he drove dangerously fast, getting us there about 5 minutes before the start of the show. I would not say this is a “Must See” but if you have the time, it is a worthwhile experience.

Mesmerizing ceremony

This was a lovely ceremony. Beautiful music and singing with mesmerizing Whirling dervishes. Beautiful grounds and fun photo ops in Beautiful room at the end. Great history being on the grounds where camels stopped to trade goods on the Silk Road.

Mesmerising! A must do experience in Cappadocia

This was the highlight of my trip to Cappadocia. I was utterly mesmerised by the focus and devotion of the dervishes, not to mention the talented musicians. On top of this, the location at an original caravansary (Silk Road rest stop) made for a perfect, spirituality uplifting, evening. It was truly magical!

A memorable experience - authentic and mesmerizing

Amazing experience! The show was authentic, performed inside a Caravan Sarai built in the year 1249. The dervishes were dedicated, middle aged performers. The whole performance was nicely explained in English I'm a leaflet distributed at the beginning. Icing on the cake was the 10 minutes photo op where the dervishes re-enacted parts of the ceremony only for the tourists to take photo/video memories (since photography was forbidden during the ceremony). Overall, a memorable experience!

The guide/driver was great, very punctual and knowledgeable. It was efficiently run just keep in mind that it is a very quick evening, the show lasts under an hour but it was a nice experience and very unique.

I enjoyed the evening, the performances and the music. We were picked up from our hotel on time. Although during the ceremony, we are not allowed to take pictures or videos, once the ceremony is over, they did a mini performance for a few minutes for us to take pictures and video.

what an amazing experience. the pictures do not do any justice., its a must see ., i highly recommend it. plus our guide Shahin who picked us up and took us to the place., was a true local., gave so much of new information about cappadocia., spoke very good english., helped us with the restuarants., dropped us at a convenient place., cheers to shahin ( paphlagonia tour company ) ., now about the dervishes ceremony., truly magical & soulful ., cant describe it in words., once has to experience it live., and at caravanserai., which is as authentic as one can get. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
