Incredible experience! We absolutely loved this tour! Our tour guide Szymon was such a delight and so knowledgeable! He did an incredible job educating us about the old city and navigating us around the river and canals ! It was amazing to kayak by the big ships and yatchts and see Gdansk from this unique viewpoint. Would highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants a few hours of being active and sight seeing without the crowds of tourists and a much more intimate, nature rich experience. Szymon Is number one!

It was a fabulous experience. And, as would be expected, it does require a degree of maintained physical exertion. The waterway has other watercraft traveling by, and depending on windiness of the day and the speed and size of other craft, there can be some waves.

I had an absolutely incredible morning kayaking the Motława River, and I cannot recommend this experience enough! If you want to see Gdańsk from a unique perspective, this is the way to do it.
The Route & The Vibe
We started our journey at the historic shipyards, which provided a powerful and industrial backdrop before we paddled our way toward the heart of the Old Town. The transition from the towering cranes of the shipyard to the beautiful, reconstructed architecture of the city center was breathtaking.
The Guide (Mikey)
A huge thank you to my guide, Mikey! She was fantastic, not only was she a great lead on the water, but she was also incredibly informative. She made several stops along the way to explain the history of the sites we were passing. It was sobering to learn just how much of the city was destroyed during WWII, but equally inspiring to hear how it was meticulously rebuilt to preserve Polish history and heritage.
The Experience
Even with the weather being a bit temperamental, 70 degrees and quite windy with rain on the horizon, the trip felt safe and exhilarating. Mikey’s knowledge added so much depth to the paddle; it felt like a moving history lesson.
Ask for Mikey if you want a guide who truly knows her history!

A fun way to see the city. Took a bit to get there from the cruise ship but very doable. We walked and took the train which was super easy.
Kayak was a small group and our guide was fabulous.

This trip is a must do! It offers a great perspective on the city. Our guide (Szymon, I think) was excellent. He was well informed, telling us about the history of Gdansk and of the shipyards. He was also in tune with the group in terms of Kayaking ability.

This is a must do activity in Gdansk. To be in the river and canal, it’s really cool. Our two guides were just fabulous. The male guide knew a lot about the city history and both Guides were very good at helping us with our kayaks. There were many people that never kayaked before and I have never sea kayaked and by The time I was done, I’m confident on doing it again. Very detailed in explaining the instructions and they Both had great personalities. The stories and history Was so interesting, all while being in the water. If you’re into outdoor activities, this is highly recommended. It’s nice to boat down the canal… it’s a great physical activity for a few hours. I highly recommend from beginners to advance.

The location is a 20 min walk from the historic city center & Green gate. Once at the shipyard look for the white dome and red cargo containers - and 1 with kayak on top. Eric knows his city’s history and speaks excellent English. A fun afternoon!!!

This was a really good experience! Our tour guide Eryk was excellent making sure everyone knew what they were doing before entering the water. There were also lockers available to put any belongings and waterproof phone cases if you want to take your phone out with you. The tour itself lasts around 2.5 hours, with a number of stops where you are given some interesting facts about the city and landmarks. Thank you!

It was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. Saw some sights and got a bit of history (not boring and not loads, bite sized) in between paddling so you don't get too tired. Save some energy for the way back. I'm clumsy and uncoordinated and was in a single kayak but didn't capsize so most people should be safe. If its sunny you'll need sunscreen and sunglasses
