Among the many fun activities you can enjoy in the Bahamas, swimming with pigs must be one of the most unusual options. Itinerary
Spend your morning swimming with the famous pigs of the Bahamas and visit the charming village of West End on this combo tour from Freeport on Grand Bahamas island.
You’ll be picked up from your Freeport hotel or the cruise port (for non-Carnival cruises) by a local driver-guide who can provide insights on the island during your ride.
At Crystal Beach, you’ll have around 30 to 60 minutes to meet, feed, swim, and play with the resident pigs. Relax on the beach or refuel with food and drinks, including alcoholic beverages (all own expense).
Afterwards, visit the charming village of West End before being dropped back off at your hotel or cruise port.

Poor communication no one turned up to collect us spoke to a lady from same company who phoned and was told it was cancelled as not enough people but no one informed us. Very disappointed and angry with this as was really looking forward to this trip and left with nothing booked for the day so had to pay again for a taxi to go out of port and did get to see the pigs. Terrible service terrible communications. Let’s see how long it takes to get a refund now 😡

The instructions for meeting for this excursion were not clear. There was not a specific meeting spot given and the google maps was not working. We had to call the company and it was very confusing getting things situated.
The experience with the pigs was fun. It was exciting to be able to see the pigs up close and feed & pet them. The staff was friendly and informative. We had the opportunity to take pictures as well.
The beach is beautiful, but there are no beach chairs, only benches and tables which aren't very comfortable. Once the pig experience is complete we had to wait another 2 hours to leave, so not having beach chairs was not fun. There was not much else to do but a volleyball net and you could purchase food and drinks.

Good fun for the kids! Animals appear well cared for. Staff was friendly and helpful, bring a tip. Clean washrooms. Food, drink and souvenirs available at the beach.

This was a great experience. It is very important to bring water shoes, and that should be on the list of things to bring. There are rocks in the water, and when the water is wavy, it is difficult to see them. The pigs were all very friendly, and we were able to hold one of the baby pigs. I would recommend this for any traveler. If traveling by your own car, I would ask the tour operator when you should arrive. We drove to the experience and waited one and a half hours before the tour arrived. This is not a problem if it’s a sunny warm day and you can snorkel, but on a cooler day, it was a long wait time. It was still worth the wait!

It was an overall good experience but not what I expected. You line up in the water with apples on sticks and the pigs are released into the water. They can and will poop in the same water you’re in. The highlight was getting to hold the baby pigs. After the 15 minute “swim” you have an additional 45 minutes to an hour to sit at picnic tables where you can order food and drinks. The beach was much too rocky to get in the water.

Be aware of the pigs popping in the water. They are friendly as long as you don’t touch the pigs in certain spots.

We had a great time. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. My only complaint would be that there was limited information about the trip. There was a lot of guesswork on my end on what to bring and what facilities were there. As well as what time they were picking us up at the hotel etc. and the photos were a little screwed. I was under the impression we were swimming with pigs like the description described. But when we arrived we walked around a corner and pigs that they have there in pens were let out and we cuddled with them. It was a nice time but I was hoping the pigs were wild and we were going to take a boat to an island or something.

If you are booking this tour on a day that the cruise line is not arriving, it will be cancelled. They will not do the tours for a small amount of people bc it is not maximum profit. If you want a business that does the pigs and doesn't depend on number of people I recommend “creative eco adventures & tours: get piggy with it”. I was able to walk in and see the pigs just us two.
I dont think they are known or advertised. But some of the locals let me know about it! I was very happy

Getting to hold the babies was special…. They are so cute. Learned a lot about the island and history of different areas in route to Crystal Beach. The island has been resilient in its recovery since Dorian.

Overall, this tour was amazing for animal lovers like my spouse and I. They pick you up and take you to Crystal Beach where you have the opportunity to buy food, drinks, or souvenirs. Then they take you over to the designated area for the pigs where you spend about an hour between feeding the pigs in the water and then being able to hold the baby pigs at the end. The employees are amazing and they make the whole experience fun and light hearted. As well as they are very willing to take pictures for you and help you get the full experience.

They did not respond the afternoon before when I asked about the pick-up time. Then they cancelled the trip less than an hour before it was supposed to start without providing a reason on a bright sunny day.

The crew at Crystal Beach in Grand Bahama run a very tight operation which I appreciated. Very clear instructions on how to interact with the pigs. It is clear that the pigs are well cared for and the operators take seriously their bread and butter: tourism and taking care of the pigs. The beach is nice and quaint. The food was actually amazing. I had the fried fish and it was with a light and crispy breading. My beautiful wife is pictured in the photo as this was her birthday trip, and pigs her favorite animal. The H. Forbes drivers were extremely friendly and provided a ton of information.

Staff was amazing! Kind friendly welcoming and courteous. Coulsnt asknfor better treatment. The food was fresh, and absolutely delicious!! Cand forget about the house made drinks, YUM!!!! Had to buy a bottle of the Floating Pig Spiced Rum!!!!

Fun feeding the pigs in the water and holding the little ones on the beach afterwards. Food was excellent but I waited 45 minutes for my order. Very chaotic snack shack with a micro kitchen. Staff were wonderful. Way too much time after the tour was complete. The trip could be shortened by an hour. I would definitely recommend this tour to my friends.

The staff was friendly and organized. It was a great experience and if you need someone to take photos they do that and a video. Was relaxing afterwards and found amazing shells on the beach.

BEWARE! We booked this in January for a trip in April. The day before our scheduled excursion I received the digital ticket. I reached out, through chat, to find out the pick up time from the cruise port, after receiving the ticket. Several hours later I finally received a response saying our reservation was cancelled because they were going to be closed. A week later I’m still trying to get my refund. First I was told to contact Expedia, but I didn’t book it through Expedia. Then I received a message saying I could request my refund. Well, I’d already done that. Now I’m playing email tag with a Viator representative. Reviews I read prior to booking made me nervous as quite a few described disappointing experiences and headaches trying to get refunds. The simple fact that I have to actually ask for my money back on an excursion they cancelled less than 24 hours before is just bad business.

It was a great time swimming with the pigs. The only disappointment was that I thought it was more natural. I didn't realize the pigs were kept locked up until it was time to come out. But the beach was very nice and the pigs were so cute.

So much fun! My wife loved it too, pigs were so cute and happy and the guides let everyone get pictures with them either holding a smaller one or next to it if you wanted individual selfies. Some were pretty big! The beach was nice with clear water and everyone could get a lounge chair, there’s a restaurant that you could get anything you wanted from fried conch to yummy drinks. You can also rent kayaks. We stayed most of the day and loved it! Our guides on the bus were awesome and informative with a nice lesson about the Bahamas on the way there and back (about a half hr)

The people and the pigs have a great time! The beach is beautiful, the guides terrific, and the pigs are very sweet. They come running out into the water for apple bits on skewers that the guests feed them. Afterward, we got to hold some of the piglets. It was a blast!

I don’t won’t to put people off this trip as the pig experience was special and unique, however…we were left to wait for over an hour for our pick up/transfer which meant we missed the pigs first outing and had to tag onto the next which included a large group…resulting in quite a short experience with the actual pigs in the water. If possible…book directly rather than with H.Forbes Charter (Viator).

Horrible experience. Didn’t get picked up on time because the instructions had literally no info. No meeting time or point so didn’t get to excursion until 11 AM. Spent MAYBE an hour to 1.5 total before leaving. The beach was so uncomfortable. Bees EVERYWHERE, shells all in the water. Nowhere to sit. 250 for an hour and a half. I’m just glad I didn’t buy this through the cruise line. Never again.

If you are just wanting a picture swimming with pig this is excellent for that! They give you plenty of time to hold the pigs and allow you to take as many pictures as you want. As far as "swimming" with the pigs you are more wading in the ocean in a semi circle as the pig walk in a circle eating the sticks of apples they have you hold. The weather was not great while we were there so we didn't get to go all the way out to their normal location so maybe the experience would have been different had the weather permitted. The guide was great and I didn't feel pressured to buy anything from their on-site souvenir shop. We drove our rental car there so we just left when we were ready to go. I just wanted a picture holding a pig in the Bahamas so I am happy! Another bucket item list checked off.
